Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2647: 1457: The Depths of the Black Fog
Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
In the heart of the thick Black Fog, Leo Ray guided the assembly of mighty leaders, dashing ahead rapidly while vigilantly observing their surroundings.
As they pressed further into the area, the views grew ever more astonishing.
Besides additional remnants and tombstones, occasional wide expanses of deserted farmlands and barren woodlands sped past on either side.
Additionally, intermittent crimson streams released a sharp, foul odor, meandering sluggishly and densely, which, together with the heavy poison of the Black Fog, turned the whole vista into something like Hell.
This array of visions led even Loris, Sina, and the rest who had been here previously to crease their foreheads deeply, their countenances showing serious looks.
For them too, they had never pushed so far into the Land of Howling, and to the group, everything ahead remained unknown and strange.
Staring at the infernal surroundings, Leo Ray kept his forehead wrinkled.
Prior to setting out, he had consulted the Administrator and associates, but even the Shadow Market was unable to deliver them to the core of the Land of Howling. This place appeared as a forsaken zone, showing up as void in the Magic Sandbox.
What disturbed the company even more was how the Skeleton Fortresses clustered more thickly the further they advanced into the Black Fog.
At a quick look, those massive pale citadels hovered vaguely in the Black Fog, occasionally with two or three visible at once.
Neared the Fortress, the team could distinctly spot the undead prowling along the Fortress's City Wall, skeletal banners waving, hollow sockets scanning side to side, eyeing their fast-moving band with a grin, like fulfilling a fatal duty.
Gazing at the myriad Skeleton Soldiers, the assembly stayed quiet, but their minds tightened more and more.
The foe's Undead Army outnumbered what they had anticipated by far. In a direct field clash, success was impossible for them.
It wasn't just a gap in power but also a terrain benefit for the enemy. All could sense their inner energy vortex turning more sluggishly the deeper into the Black Fog they went, which surely hampered their power usage immensely.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, should the foe opt to surround us, going this far in would trap us straight in their trap?”
Sensing the sluggish flow of his energy vortex inside, Loris creased his brow and couldn't resist commenting.
“That's probably the unavoidable result.”
Leo Ray nodded steadily, responding, “However, shifting the Undead Army requires a large chunk of time and fails to match our speed, so our goal stays straightforward: destroy the enemy's headquarters before their forces complete the surround.”
“Your Majesty of the Humans is right. Should we eliminate the Witch Demon Leader and the key liches, the leaderless Undead Army poses no threat.”
Sina nodded vigorously in support, saying, “Your Majesty of the Humans has bested them once already, and in an earlier plot, they took heavy casualties too. This shows they're not unbeatable.”
“Yes, on this occasion, we won't stop until the witch demons are utterly wiped out!”
Recalling their wicked actions, Loris's leonine features showed pulsing veins, while a deep growl laden with killing intent rumbled in his throat.
Following Loris's statement, the team quieted again, nobody adding more words right then.
Leo Ray along with the other two Commanders knew well that an unseen supporter lurked behind the witch demon in the darkness, marking the enemy's most frightening trait.
Yet, since the group's spirits had dipped from the start, the trio silently avoided bringing it up, merely mulling over potential happenings and their responses in their minds, aiming to boost winning chances, even if just a tiny bit.
Rushing down the enigmatic and obscure route, time's passage became indistinct. As the company grew a bit accustomed to the thickening devastated sights nearby, far inside the Black Fog and wreckage, a colossal, unknown pale Giant City slowly came into view.
This pale Giant City's size was staggering, nearly matching the Land of Divine Favor, vastly exceeding the bone fortresses they had gone by. The sole likeness lay in how both this pale Giant City and the skeleton fortresses featured urban exteriors with odd formations.
Regarding the odd tiered formation or the substance building these City Walls, further description proved unnecessary.
A thick Black Fog spiraled from the pale Giant City's middle, resembling a massive smokestack, appearing endless. Clearly, it served as the origin of the area's Black Fog.
That ceaselessly surging Black Fog resembled a vast contorted, misshapen shade, icily overseeing their group.
Encircling the pale Giant City flowed a vivid scarlet Protective City River, rendering the full picture even more sinister and captivating.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, judging by our rough travel span, this has to mark the innermost region of the Land of Howling, definitely the witch demons' main city!”
Gripping a timeworn parchment map in his furred grip, Loris checked it over and over, then nodded at Leo Ray, “It used to be the hub of the fallen alliance troops, so it's logical for the witch demons to set up base here.”
