Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2629: 1447: Unexpected Situation (Part

“From the bite marks, it’s clear this wasn’t Medusas turning on one another.”
Lannis shook his head in denial, adding, “These marks are tiny and clustered tightly, something we’ve never encountered before.”
As Lannis and the rest voiced their thoughts, Leo Ray’s frown deepened further.
Truly, this savage assault method was unprecedented, utterly terrifying to witness.
He had initially suspected that the abrupt third-party intruder could be a Lord from a different sector, swept here by a freak dimensional storm and stumbling upon Belinda and her group. Yet, based on what lay before them, it didn’t seem like the work of any outsider Lord.
“Might it truly be a Demon Beast that forced its way in? Perhaps something akin to a Blood Red Sandworm?”
The one-eared middle-aged Catman specialist calmed his nerves and suggested once more.
“That’s utterly out of the question. This place is the sacred domain of the Medusas. Beyond that unique hidden tunnel we traversed, potent Magic Restrictions seal the entire zone. Not even a horde of Tier 6 magical beasts charging together could shatter them—Spatial Magic or otherwise.”
The gray-armored Catman specialist inhaled the thick scent of blood and replied, “I inspected it moments ago; the Magic Restrictions remain intact. Thus, this third-party intruder must have materialized abruptly, catching the guards completely off guard.”
“Materialized out of thin air? That defies all reason!”
The Catman specialists traded uneasy looks once again, beads of cold sweat forming unnoticed on their brows.
One had to admit, the mystery was thickening—what in the world was this merciless third-party power?
“Come on, all of you, snap out of it. The fate of our Lord Leader hangs in the balance. This isn’t the moment for doubt and dread.”
Lannis stepped to the head of the group and started rallying them into formation.
“You’re right; we’re closing in on their coronation chamber now. Though complications have arisen, our mission stays the same.”
Leo Ray steadied his resolve and pressed forward alongside the Catman specialists.
Sure enough, after navigating more zones littered with the same brutal slaughter as before, they reached a vast chamber.
It retained the eerie white organic architecture, now enhanced with human touches like lines of Medusa statues, a towering altar, and a gleaming golden throne at the far end.
The chamber brimmed with vibrant adornments, banners raised proudly, evoking an atmosphere of triumphant ritual.
Yet the most shocking sight was the floor cluttered with mangled Medusa corpses, scattered in chaos, echoing the prior horrors. The heavy metallic tang assaulted their senses, sending an icy shiver through them.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, it looks like Belinda was right in the middle of her coronation when that enigmatic third-party struck. The ones setting Magic Traps and lying in wait caught wind of the chaos and rushed to help, leaving the earlier scene unfinished.”
After assigning other Catman specialists to scout and stand guard, Lannis inclined his head to Leo Ray and continued, “From the looks of things, the clash wrapped up fairly recently.”
“Our priority is locating the Desert Leader without delay, praying she’s still breathing.”
Leo Ray scanned the sea of fallen bodies around him and dove into the hunt, flanked by two Stone Spirits.
Nevertheless, despite a meticulous sweep, no sign of Sina or Belinda turned up, nor any hint of the elusive third-party intruder.
Notably, Lannis and his team recognized numerous victims as Tier 6 Medusa powerhouses, all powerless against this shadowy foe.
This inevitably brought “Corrosion” to Leo Ray’s mind, though “Corrosion” typically melted victims into black sludge or infested them outright—distinct from the carnage here.
“Still, it’s undeniable: this shadowy third-party is profoundly strange and tough to counter.”
While Leo Ray mulled this over, the gravelly tone of the gray-armored Catman elder cut through, “We’ve got a survivor over here!”
At those words, Leo Ray and Lannis hurried over, discovering a faintly stirring Medusa tucked in a shadowy nook.
Unlike the typical Magic Robes of the guards, she donned a maid’s attire, suggesting her role as a servant.
“Come to, tell us precisely what went down?”
Lannis directed a Catman Shaman to cast the Healing Technique as he questioned the maid.
“Those monsters burst from the walls and consumed everything in their path without pity!”
Terror twisted her features as the ashen maid’s eyes fluttered open, her words tumbling out disjointedly, “The protective energy shields of Tier 6 powerhouses crumbled under their hunger. No strikes could harm them. They were savage fiends! The stuff of the worst nightmares!”
After absorbing the maid’s account, Leo Ray and the others shared another round of startled glances.
Leo Ray’s expression grew even more somber in particular. Her tale edged perilously close to descriptions of “Corrosion.”
“Yet we’re buried deep underground without any Magical Ley Lines bursting forth, and per the maid, those entities sprang from the odd white walls.”
“Perhaps ‘Corrosion’ possesses alternate forms, or maybe it’s a beast like ‘Corrosion’? Either way, their ferocity is beyond doubt.”
As Leo Ray weighed these possibilities, piercing wails of agony echoed softly from a distant unexplored passage on the chamber’s opposite side.
“And the Lord Leader?”
Lannis pressed the maid urgently once more.
“Lady Belinda carried Her Majesty Sina that direction…”
The maid raised a trembling hand toward the source of the screams, then her eyes rolled back as she slumped unconscious again.
“Your Majesty of the Humans, we have no choice but to head there!”
Lannis gave Leo Ray a firm nod, and together with the remaining Catman specialists, they dashed toward the passage.
Though the cries likely didn’t stem from Sina herself, her presence there signaled grave peril.
They sped along the tunnel bathed in an unnatural white luminescence, and as Leo Ray’s surroundings expanded anew, they entered yet another subterranean chamber.
In one corner, a handful of burly Medusas unleashed desperate blasts of Petrification Light and various Spells at a spherical white orb hovering in the air, all futile as it inched nearer.
And then, the harrowing incident unfolded.
The white orb, once no larger than a fist, ballooned abruptly, swallowing a sturdy Medusa along with her energy shield, leaving only her enormous snake tail whipping wildly.
Next came the sharp crack of fracturing bones, and the devoured Medusa reduced to merely that thrashing tail, blood spraying everywhere.
Seeing this, Leo Ray and his companions stared in wide-eyed shock.
From their vantage, it looked as if the white orb had encased the Medusa specialist, but in truth, it had straight-up consumed her.
“So this explains the earlier massacres—what in blazes is that entity?”
Leo Ray locked eyes on the white orb, now reverted to fist-sized, his brows knitting in concentration.
By its dimensions, it was far tinier than “Corrosion,” and its explosive expansion for strikes was strikingly novel, though its impervious nature mirrored “Corrosion” closely.
Just as Leo Ray reflected on this, the white orb detected them and whirled about, hurtling straight at their group like a projectile.
