Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong Chapter 2619: 1442: Deployment and Departure (Part 2)

Previously on Everyone Is A Lord: My Talent Is A Little Too Strong...
Leo Ray learns that Sina’s group has been decimated by an ambush involving the lich, a treacherous vice leader, and members of the Medusa tribe led by the Desert Leader’s sister. A survivor reveals that Sina is being held alive for a unique coronation ceremony intended to strip her of her power and status. With the Desert Alliance’s massive army now under the control of the conspirators and poised for a catastrophic assault, Leo Ray must find a way to rescue the leader to reclaim command of the desert forces before the fortress is overwhelmed.

Shuert gave a firm nod and addressed Leo Ray: “Locating the Desert Leader would indeed provide us with a major breakthrough in halting the Desert Grand Army’s invasion.”

“Your Majesty, it is highly probable that the opposition intends to frame us for the assault on the Desert Leader and his entourage. This would give them a pretext to initiate their offensive without restraint.”

Hanel Tree weighed these words for a moment, his expression turning grave as he voiced his agreement.

“It appears that the mission to rescue the Desert Leader is of the utmost urgency. His place of confinement is quite clear—it must be Medusa’s Holy Land. It seems I am required to make this journey personally.”

Leo Ray inclined his head slightly, acknowledging their assessments.

“However, Your Majesty, that Witch Demon is notoriously treacherous. Furthermore, many of Medusa’s settlements are situated within subterranean caverns. Our Ice Stone City is unable to teleport there, and the terrain is notoriously easy to defend but difficult to storm. A massive army would be unable to break through quickly, especially since we lack knowledge of the area.”

A flicker of anxiety crossed Cassie’s face as she continued, “Even though you have successfully achieved a double Tier 6 Cultivation and possess strength far surpassing ordinary experts of that level, the danger is simply too great.”

Once Cassie finished her warning, Hanel Tree and Shuert both nodded, mirroring her concern.

“Your Majesty of the Humans, I am the daughter of the Desert Catman Clan’s leader. If you carry my token, the Desert Catman Clan will surely pledge their full support to Your Majesty!”

The Masked Man spoke with increasing desperation, adding quickly: “Do not let the terrain trouble you, Your Majesty. Medusa’s Holy Land borders our territory. My father once revealed a secret passage to me that leads directly into the depths of the Holy Land. I shall divulge every detail to Your Majesty!”

“Your Majesty, I am well aware of the extreme peril this journey entails, but only Your Majesty possesses the power to save the leader. I beg of you, help me, and help the Desert Alliance!”

The Masked Man rose and knelt once more, his face drenched in tears.

“I understand. I am doing this not only for your sake but for my own as well.”

Observing the jagged wound on the other’s arm, Leo Ray helped them back onto the bed and gave a slight nod: “Tell me everything you know.”

Overjoyed, the Masked Man immediately shared all the information with Leo Ray, presenting him with a pendant featuring a khaki gemstone as a token of authority.

Just as the Masked Man finished his explanation, Frost’s urgent voice transmitted through Mind Talk, sounding tense.

“Reporting to the Lord! Emergency alerts have arrived from Administrator K and Administrator L. The Desert Alliance has mobilized thirty Tier 4 units within a Million Army, and the Rainforest Fortress Alliance has done the same. They are currently marching toward our Desolate Fortress and Echoing Fortress!”

Upon hearing Frost's report, everyone present, Leo Ray included, felt a chill run down their spines. The situation had indeed spiraled into the worst-case scenario they had feared.

Leo Ray had already deployed Ice Stone City to bring in all Tier 4 units and a significant portion of the Tier 3 Legions, bringing their total strength to eighty Legions—comprising seventy Tier 3 Legions and ten Tier 4 units.

Despite this mobilization, the numerical disparity compared to the Desert Alliance’s grand army remained massive. Holding the line indefinitely seemed impossible; it was merely a question of time.

“Everyone, I have a single objective for you: you must delay the enemy’s advance here at all costs. If they break through, our people will face unspeakable horrors.”

Leo Ray’s gaze swept over Shuert, Hanel Tree, Cassie, and the newly arrived Broy, Fanny, Konet, and Bruno with a grim intensity. “I am aware that this battle will be grueling, but we are left with no other path.”

“As you command, Your Majesty!”

In response to Leo Ray’s directive, the group nodded with solemn determination.

“Good. Wait for my return.”

Leo Ray acknowledged their resolve with a heavy nod.

The group replied in unison, their faces etched with worry: “Please exercise extreme caution, Your Majesty!”

“Do not worry, I know how to proceed.”

Leo Ray nodded, adding: “As for the Rainforest Fortress Alliance at Echoing Fortress, I have made separate plans. Your only duty is to defend this position.”

Moving quickly, Leo Ray utilized Ice Stone City to reach Echoing Fortress, where he briefed Jess and the other Ancient Dark Elf commanders.

Simultaneously, he gave orders for Ice Stone City to pull more troops from the surrounding defensive positions.

“Have no fear, Your Majesty of the Humans. As long as we draw breath, the city shall not fall.”

Jess remained stoic, offering only a firm nod of commitment.

“Crisis and Nal will lead thirty Tier 3 Legions to reinforce you, and I will also leave forty Human Tier 3 Legions under your command.”

Leo Ray gripped Jess’s hand, drawing strength from the general’s unwavering resolve.

Following this, Leo Ray executed a critical tactical move, sending a specialized team deep into the territory of the Rainforest Fortress Alliance to gather intelligence.

The Rainforest Fortress Alliance had gone silent, leaving even Administrator L confused after the opposition severed all ties with the Shadow Market.

The team Leo Ray assembled consisted of the Grey Elder, Yonir, top-tier experts from both the Mercenary and Alchemist Guilds, and a unique member—Lina.

Though her personal combat strength was limited, as Leo Ray’s subordinate, she held a special status within the Mandela Clan.

While the Mandela Clan lacked power, their membership in the Rainforest Fortress Alliance made them a potential source of vital information—the only lead they had.

“Two presidents and Lina, the success of this mission rests on your shoulders.”

Inside the command center of Echoing Fortress, Leo Ray spoke to the team with gravity: “Ice Stone City will covertly transport you to Lina’s ancestral home. You must quickly determine the reality of the situation and the location of Loris and the others. If possible, find a way to sabotage the enemy’s offensive.”

“Rest assured, Your Majesty. This conflict decides the survival of our realm and the destiny of the Human race. This old minister will give his all!”

The Grey Elder’s lined face was set in a mask of solemnity as he nodded. “Please, Your Majesty, stay safe!”

Yonir and Lina echoed his sentiment, their expressions showing they were prepared to face any danger.

“Tonight is the turning point for our destiny. Even if we walk the razor's edge of death, we will never let the enemy dictate our future.”

Leo Ray offered a steadying pat on each of their shoulders before waving them off. “Go! Our fate belongs to us alone!”

The Grey Elder and his team departed Echoing Fortress via Ice Stone City. Meanwhile, Leo Ray bolstered the spirits of the remaining garrison while waiting for the city to return.

A short time later, Ice Stone City reappeared, and Leo Ray passed through its gates.

During this interval, Leo Ray updated Ariel Watson. Though she was visibly trembling with internal worry, she maintained a calm facade, promising Leo Ray that she would protect the rear while he moved forward.

Ariel Watson understood perfectly that the man before her represented their only hope for a future victory.

As Leo Ray initiated his high-stakes operations, a dark, mist-shrouded figure watched from afar. The Lich Leader, his body etched with decaying dark runes, radiated a murderous aura. His withered face was twisted with malice: “The trap is set. Wretched Humans, whether you are an Emperor or a Lord from another world, your death is certain this time!”

The Lich Leader’s corpse-like features contorted into a hideous grin as he broke into a manic, echoing laugh.
