Adam used a Vibrating Stone to search for Pearls and the Bottomless Void, creating a radar map of the area. He then combined this with his own radar using the Path Construct, hoping to pinpoint the Bottomless Void. Despite his efforts, the void wasn't initially found, but a sudden flash of light indicated a nearby location.

Each condition for the Third Grand Star was a separate journey for Adam.

To obtain the Third Grand Star, he had to do more than he did for the First Grand Star and the Second Grand Star. Perhaps his entire past journey was less than that one.

After all, before the Third Grand Star, Adam knew nothing about the Primal Lands, the Hollo Lands, or the Gray Sea with the Grand Abyss. Also, on his way to this goal, he learned many secrets about this world and finally met Aiden Henk.

Now, he was closer than ever to finding the Bottomless Void and creating the Third Grand Star.

Ergander’s idea with the two radars and the Vibrating Stone had worked.

The white flash appeared at the very last moment when Adam was already ready to admit defeat, but now none of that mattered.

"Finally... All that’s left for me is to head to that point, right?"

Adam gulped as his eyes scanned the map once more.

The blue waves showed the locations of the dark spots, but the white waves swept over them, whether they were flowers or potential Pearls. Adam didn’t need any of that.

But the white flash pointed to the only dark spot that his radar hadn’t ignored. Now, that was the white spot, and that was exactly where the Bottomless Void was located.

Sure, maybe Adam and Ergander were wrong, and now Adam’s energy was pointing to something else. After all, the Vibrating Stone only showed the size and location of the dark spots, not what they actually were.

"No... This has to be it... It can’t be anything else. My energy has finally answered me. I can feel it!" Adam’s eyes were full of excitement.

Suddenly, a voice rang out from above:

"I’m glad to hear that!"

SHIVER!

A shiver ran down Adam’s spine as he jerked his head up.

"What the...?"

Someone was sitting on the stone ledge. He couldn’t make out any details, he could only see the outlines. The shadow cast by the fiery rings at the top of the sphere completely concealed this person.

Whoooooosh!

The next moment, the shadow leaped from the ledge and landed on another ledge. It was significantly lower, directly across from Adam, and the shadow no longer hid anything.

Adam’s eyes narrowed as he stared at the mysterious visitor.

It was a young man with long brown hair tied back in a thick ponytail. His eyes were amber, shining brightly like the sun, full of life.

He was wearing leather clothes, a white shirt, and high boots, and a cheerful smile played across his face.

Nothing about this young man seemed threatening, at least not until Adam’s eyes drifted lower.

He was holding something in his right hand. Three objects dangled from it.

Adam gulped as he realized what they were.

The three heads of an old man, a woman, and a man were clamped in the young man’s grip, while blood dripped down from time to time.

In fact, what shocked Adam most was not the sudden appearance of this young man, nor even the fact that he was holding the three heads of some kind of monsters in his hand, but the nature of these monsters!

"How?"

Adam thought as his fingertips trembled.

"How did he end up here? Judging by what he said, he’d been watching me the whole time? He heard me and saw me... But how? How could I have failed to notice him? I did everything I could to prevent that from happening!"

Then, he shook his head inwardly and pulled himself together.

’No, something else is important right now. These heads... Shit. If everything is as I think it is, this isn’t good at all.’

"They... Who are they?" Adam asked, already guessing the answer.

The young man smiled, pointing at the three heads in his hand.

"These? Oh, don’t worry about it, I decided to take care of them for you. These three Lords, they’re members of the Befallen Crown! Hahaha! Can you believe it? They were waiting for you to show up here!"

Adam didn’t say anything for a while.

What was he supposed to say?

He could barely comprehend what was going on here.

’So he not only watched me and didn’t interfere while I was using the Vibrating Stone, but he also killed three Befallen Crown members? What the hell is going on?!’

Adam frowned as he grew wary.

"Why should I believe you? How do I know they’re actually from the Befallen Crown?"

In response, the young man just shrugged and tossed the heads at Adam’s feet.

"You can check for yourself. They weren’t full members, but the servants who make up the majority of the Befallen Crown. Look at the back of their necks, and you’ll understand everything."

Adam shot the young man a suspicious glance, but decided to do as he was told.

He turned the old man’s head with his foot and soon saw the crown symbol on his neck. The symbol wasn’t complete, the sword was missing, but it was definitely the crown.

"Do you believe me now?" the young man asked as he rested his cheek on his hand.

With a deep sigh, Adam nodded vigorously.

"Yeah, looks like they really are bastards from the Befallen Crown."

In fact, Adam still wasn’t entirely sure about this, since he’d only encountered their members up close a few times. He didn’t know much about their hierarchy and squads.

But... It all seemed more than plausible.

"Looks like I owe you a thank-you, huh?" Adam chuckled. "Not only did you not get in my way while I was using the Vibrating Stone, but you also took care of those bastards for me, didn’t you?"

The young man waved his hand dismissively.

"No need to thank me."

Then, a glint flashed across Adam’s eyes as he stared at the young man.

"But who the hell are you, and what do you want from me?"

That question brought a smile to the young man’s face.

"Oh, Adam Vinter, I’m glad you asked."

The young man held out his hand as a bright light burst from his palm.

"My name is Kalyso, Light of the Sun! I’ve come here to challenge you, future Second Rank Phantom!"
