Endless Evolution: Last Star Chapter 1913: Fallen Amber Sun

Ever since Adam used the Void Transit, he had lost contact with Silvana.

He sensed that she was doing well. Moreover, from time to time, energy pulses emanating from Silvana passed through his inner space, indicating that she was growing stronger.

Previously, this had only happened in tandem with Adam’s own evolution, not separately. Silvana had grown stronger at certain points in Adam’s evolution, but... now something had changed.

Adam was both curious to find out what was happening with Silvana and wary.

He spent quite a bit of time in Varreyn helping Amelia and her family. He hoped that during that time Silvana would finally get in touch with him, but that didn’t happen.

Also, Adam had another reason to worry, he needed Silvana’s powers.

Their two shared abilities were very powerful, and one of them also had a dark version, which was a trump card in itself.

If Adam faced a dangerous opponent and was losing, their shared abilities could help him, but without Silvana, all of that was useless. He couldn’t activate their shared abilities if Silvana wasn’t nearby.

"I hope that doesn’t happen," Adam thought as he moved forward. "If I’m lucky, I won’t have to fight anyone. I hope I gave Silvana enough time to take care of her goals."

Whoooooosh!

Adam leaped forward, approaching the Fallen Amber Sun area.

He had to keep moving forward and trust Silvana. She had always wanted to be his best partner and contribute more to their victories.

Who knows? Maybe this time she’d finally manage to achieve it, even sooner than an Operator like her was supposed to.

"Alright, enough thinking about that. First, I need to find a Vibrating Stone."

Adam stopped at one of the golden trees to look out over the Fallen Amber Sun area.

"Gha..." He sighed deeply.

Just as Ergander had said, this place had been forever changed not only by the battle between the two True Lords, but also by the energy that remained after them and had nourished this territory for many years.

The grass was tall and amber-colored, with only the sharp peaks of the rocks peeking out from beneath the surface. The small stones were nowhere to be seen, completely hidden beneath the grass.

Strangely enough, aside from the trees with black bark and bright crowns, there was something else here of a similar size.

A multitude of massive sunflowers grew throughout the area, with golden energy flows rushing between them.

The sunflowers’ petals were wide and bright, as if they were nourished not only by the sunlight but also by the energy wandering around them.

But all of this was merely the result of prolonged exposure to energy, not a battle between two True Lords.

"Damn..." Adam clenched his fists as his gaze fixed ahead.

On a hill stood a massive stone sphere. It had once been large enough to soar above the ground and be considered a full-fledged island, but now it lay crashed to the ground.

Once upon a time, this sphere had actually hovered over this territory, but that was a very long time ago. After the battle between the two True Lords, one of the attacks had brought the sphere crashing to the ground for good.

The right side of the sphere was destroyed, its charred edges still glowing brightly, as if a meteor had struck it.

Inside, flames continued to blaze in several rings, and on the ground, around the base of the sphere, there was a thick layer of ash and soot that the wind carried across the golden fields.

"Unbelievable. All it takes to create a new territory is a battle between two True Lords, and then many years for the remaining energy to transform this land?"

Adam’s heart began to race as he realized he was now witnessing an entirely different level of power.

According to Ergander’s account, neither of these two True Lords had even perished during their duel. However, the aftermath of their battle had forever altered this part of the Grand Abyss for all other monsters and Phantoms that passed through here.

"They... No, it’s just that their power and energy act like a force of nature. I can destroy a rock or a hill, turn it into nothing, just a handful of stones, but can I change that hill? Moreover, can I do that with just my energy, even without being near that hill?"

Adam knew what the answer was. It frustrated him, but it also motivated him.

"Huh, so this is what it’s like to be at the top of the world? I want... I want that power for myself... If you can change one area, then maybe you can change the world and... not even the First Star and the Last Star will be able to stop you!"

With excitement in his eyes, Adam surged forward, leaping onto the nearest rock.

Ergander had told him that this area’s Vibrating Stone was located beneath the stone sphere. Long ago, it had been at the top of this area, but after the stone sphere crashed to the ground, everything changed.

Step. Step. Step.

With every step, Adam got closer and closer as soon as he stepped onto the ground. The closer he got to the stone sphere, the shorter the grass became.

"Huh, so this sphere is the amber sun?" Adam looked up at the charred stone edges. "It doesn’t really look like a sun, but it definitely fits this area."

After a while, Adam reached the summit, where, just as he’d expected, only ash and soot awaited him.

But since he wasn’t the only one who’d come to this area to use the free Vibrating Stone, there were paths here as well as entrances leading inside the stone sphere.

Adam looked around.

He remembered that at any moment he could run into a member of the Befallen Crown. However, they weren’t the only threats.

The other monsters here weren’t necessarily as hospitable as Ergander.

Someone might attack and kill Adam simply because they considered him a worthy warrior, rather than because of an order from the Befallen Crown or for personal gain.

Scratch. Scratch. Scratch.

Adam scratched the back of his head before heading down the central path.

"Well, let’s see what this stone looks like. If I can get the Bottomless Void here... then the barrier definitely won’t be a problem for me!"
