Amelia tried to stop Nukra from over-training Adam, but Adam awoke the Soul Stance. His eyes turned gray, and he unleashed a powerful blast, sending Nukra flying. He then easily evaded Amelia's ice attack and slammed her to the ground. Nukra attacked again, but Adam's movements became too precise for her. He grabbed Nukra, slammed her into Amelia, and prepared to unleash dark matter on them both.

Nukra and Amelia knew Adam would be strong. They knew about his achievements and that he had secured some of his victories in battles that seemed impossible.

Also, they were aware that Adam’s instincts and desire to win were at a high level, perhaps even higher than their own, though Nukra didn’t want to admit it. She, like most monsters, believed that monsters’ instincts were superior to those of Phantoms of the same power level,

Now, they had to face Adam, who was quite possibly in his most fearsome form at that moment.

He wasn’t using his abilities, but he didn’t need to right now.

Against two Barons, his energy and Soul Stance were enough.

He became especially dangerous when he used energy types other than star energy.

Ripple. Ripple. Ripple.

A tremor rippled through the air, emanating from the dark blob hovering above Adam’s palm.

She knew he wasn’t supposed to use Ancient Energy or Dark Energy during training, but right now he wasn’t thinking about that.

All he wanted was to win and see what his body was capable of. He was going to push himself to the limit, and nothing in his powers was going to stop him from achieving that goal.

"NUKRA!" Amelia exclaimed as she thrust both her hands forward. "Hurry! Do it with me!"

This time, Nukra didn’t argue. She rarely worked with Amelia, but this was an exception.

In just a few seconds, through their combined efforts, Amelia and Nukra created a solid ice barrier, strong enough to withstand an attack from a Lord.

At the same moment, Adam’s fist, filled with Dark Energy, crashed down on them.

Blood gushed from his hand as three long cuts ran across his skin all the way to his shoulder, but he was definitely not the one in the worst shape right now.

"AAAGGGHHH!!!"

Amelia and Nukra groaned in pain under intense pressure. Their backs were pressed against the floor as they channeled all their energy directly into the barrier.

If the barrier didn’t hold and Adam’s strike reached them, they would suffer serious injuries. They did not doubt that.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

The ice shards flew off to the side as Adam’s eyes narrowed.

He leaned his torso forward, continuing to press against them with renewed force. He had enough Dark Energy to sustain a single punch for some time.

"AAAGGG!!! Nukra! Just a little longer! Hold on a little longer!" Amelia exclaimed, her hands already trembling.

"I know!" Nukra clenched her teeth as trickles of blood flowed from her nose.

They had no choice but to use all the energy they had to maintain the barrier. They didn’t have time to come up with a better plan.

Whoooooooooosh!

The ice disk flew across the training hall before exploding right next to Adam.

At the last moment, his eyes darted to the side as he stamped his foot, creating a wall of gray energy.

However, the force of the ice blast was enough to knock Adam aside.

Shiver!

A chill ran down Adam’s spine as he instinctively spun around and immediately launched an attack. His palm sliced through the air, moving straight toward the unknown figure standing behind him.

Tap.

With ease, Romara stopped his hand before he could take a step forward.

Adam’s eyes widened as he stared at her calm face, which wore a confident smirk.

"That’s enough, young man. I can’t let you keep beating up my daughters. They’ve had their share of punishment for underestimating you."

In fact, Adam didn’t even listen to her as his right leg, like a halberd, moved toward Romara’s side.

But, unlike Amelia and Nukra, she didn’t hold back her power, since she hadn’t been participating in the training.

Tap.

Romara’s palm touched Adam’s chest, and in the next moment, a thick layer of ice encased him in the chamber.

"Kha! Kha! Kha!"

Nukra got up from the ground, coughing up blood.

"FUCK! What the hell was that?!"

Romara turned to her, a smug glint in her eyes.

"Oh, don’t you know about that? The Soul Rush. It happens every time someone activates the full Soul Stance for the first time. You should have been prepared for this."

Amelia looked up. She was breathing heavily as she tried to catch her breath.

"We were ready... but not for this. He was too fast and too strong. I can’t believe this actually happened."

Stomp!

Amelia stomped on the ground.

"Damn it! He didn’t even have enough energy left to use his abilities, and he practically beat us! He practically killed two Barons! Shit! How is that even possible?"

Then, Nukra’s expression shifted from irritated to serious. This was very rare for her, and Amelia and Romara sensed it immediately.

"What’s more, when I attacked him, for a moment I saw someone else. It was as if... as if in that critical moment, when even his body couldn’t react fast enough, someone took control of him and helped him."

Amelia nodded uncertainly.

"Y-Yes, that’s what it seemed to me, too. Was it his artifact, or does he have a powerful ability with a mind of its own?"

Romara turned her gaze to Adam as she sighed heavily.

"Who knows? We often encounter monsters with rather strange and unique combinations of powers. You both know that even though the Phantoms are much smaller than us, such strange things are much more common among them."

Nukra glanced at Amelia.

"So... Considering everything that happened, who won?"

Amelia got up from the ground, brushing the dust off her pants.

"The results of the battle aren’t as important as the results of the training. We were able to help Adam use the Soul Stance for the first time. In fact, you and I taught him this power in just ten days. That’s a worthy achievement. So, from that perspective, it can be considered a victory."

Romara stepped forward as she touched the ice chamber.

Crack. Crack. Crack.

Cracks ran through the ice as soon as the cage shattered.

Romara smoothly caught Adam, preventing him from falling to the ground. He was already unconscious.

"Now, let’s get ready for the final battle. He still needs to heal Vador. Adam Vinter must restore his Legacy Artifacts."
