Mudaro and Kessa attacked, seeking to capture Adam Vinter, but were swiftly defeated by Nukra and Amelia. Mudaro was brutally beaten by Nukra, while Amelia easily subdued and froze Kessa. The defeated Blood Fangs leaders were taken away by their subordinates, leaving Nukra eager to meet Adam.

"Looks like something happened at the entrance?" Adam turned to Romara.

Romara smiled.

"Don’t worry about it. Amelia is strong enough to handle this problem on her own, but the newest member of our family came to her aid, so... The threat has already passed."

Then, she looked at Vador. He was still in poor condition and exhausted, but his aura was several times more powerful.

Whereas before Vador had had at most a few weeks before all the energy would leave his Evolution Tree and he would die, now he had at least several months.

Vador was no longer losing his energy, but as long as his Legacy Artifact remained destroyed, his own energy, even within his restored Evolution Tree, was gradually breaking down into ever smaller pieces. It was affecting Vador like a disease that needed to be cured.

Tap.

Adam touched the wall and slowly slid down onto a chair, looking exhausted.

"Agh..." He sighed deeply, closing his eyes.

Romara glanced at him.

"You’ve finished all the work, haven’t you? You restored his Evolution Tree?"

"Yeah..." Adam replied without opening his eyes. "It was harder than I expected, but I have to admit I’ve learned a lot in this place."

"I know you don’t have any defensive or healing abilities. To some extent, you’re known for that. At least that was the case before you came to our house."

Adam shrugged.

"Huh, that’s true, but I hope I won’t have to restore anyone else’s Evolution Tree again. And... I’m not done yet."

His voice grew quieter as Romara’s expression darkened.

"When Amelia explained the treatment plan to me, I had a rough idea of what needed to be done with the Evolution Tree, but a destroyed Legacy Artifact? That’s a whole different story. I have no experience with that."

"Ahem." Romara coughed. "Amelia has a plan. Let’s hope everything works out the way she intended. She’s rarely wrong."

Then she let her gaze wander over Adam, the young man, a K4-Phantom who had just saved the life of the powerful Lord who was her husband.

"How’s your training with Amelia going? I know she promised to teach you the Soul Stance," Romara said, a hint of curiosity in her eyes.

Adam opened his eyes slightly.

"Are you really interested?"

"No. It’s just basic politeness on my part."

"Huh." Adam chuckled. "I know that, but I’ll answer anyway, after all, whether I can heal Vador depends on it."

Romara narrowed her eyes. "Now I really want to know the answer."

"Alright. Everything’s going pretty well, but there’s been no progress for the last three days."

Romara didn’t let it show, it was too dangerous, but inside, her expression turned grim.

’I knew she wouldn’t be able to do it. You can’t force someone to master a Soul Stance in just ten days. It takes years and dozens of battles where your sole goal is to gain complete control over your energy and aura!’

"I see," she replied calmly. "May I ask what exactly the problem was? After all, I’m a Lord too, and I’m much older than Amelia. I have a wealth of experience that might be useful to you."

"How generous of you, but I think you know where we left off. I can use my aura for both defense and attack. I learned how to defend myself from Laroza and how to attack from Amelia. But I need to unite my aura and energy. Only then will I be able to enter the state of the Soul Stance."

Adam couldn’t read minds, but for some reason he was certain he knew what Romara was thinking. To him, it was all written on her face.

"I heard you. This is a common problem. This is exactly where many people get stuck and fail. What you need to do is increase the intensity."

She stepped to the side, maintaining a pensive expression.

"You can’t make a copper bar just by putting copper and tin together. To do that, you have to melt them at a high temperature. In your case, you need to follow the same rule."

Adam was silent for a moment before a smirk spread across his face.

"Oh, you actually gave some decent advice. Looks like I underestimated you."

"Pffft, maybe Amelia can afford to act arrogant toward the rest of the family, but I’m still several levels above you. Don’t forget that."

Shiver.

Suddenly, a shiver ran through Romara as she slowly turned toward its source. Adam’s blue eyes were as cold as glaciers, somewhat reminiscent of Amelia’s when she was in a rage, a rare and terrifying occurrence.

"You’re a few levels above me, that’s true, but by how many levels are you stronger than me, hmm? We both know the answer, don’t we?"

Romara bit her lip almost to the point of bleeding.

"What’s happening to the younger generation? You and-"

Crack!

Before she could finish, someone’s foot kicked the door open, unleashing a powerful gust of cold wind upon them.

Romara’s eyes widened as she looked at Nukra, whose fists were still covered in blood. Behind her, Amelia walked calmly.

"It really is him!" Nukra exclaimed excitedly, pointing at Adam. She didn’t even notice Romara.

Whoooooosh!

Like a whirlwind, Nukra swept across the room, stopping in front of Adam. Her wide grin revealed her sharp fangs.

’Oh...’ It took Adam just one glance to realize what lay ahead. ’Encounters like this never mean anything good. Don’t tell me she knows who I am? Like... the way ordinary people who watch videos of my battles do?’

He hoped that wasn’t the case, but deep down he knew it was inevitable.

Tap.

Nukra took Adam’s hand, squeezing it tightly.

"I’m so glad to meet you! You helped me become who I am today!"

Adam bowed his head.

"I’m sorry, but I don’t know who you are."

Nukra nodded.

"I know, it’s no problem! But adopting your fighting style was the best decision of my life!"

Adam blinked a few times.

’What the...? My fighting style? Do I have one?’
