Endless Evolution: Last Star Chapter 1722 1722: Only he has a reason to fight (Part 2)
Previously on Endless Evolution: Last Star...
Though Zin's combat prowess had only been witnessed by a small portion of the monsters within the Hollow Lands, his name instilled a deep-seated fear in all of them.
Many were unaware of his physical capabilities or supernatural abilities, but their collective dread was so profoundly ingrained that they never dared to challenge him.
Batar, however, was an anomaly. He was prepared to confront even Zin if his objective demanded it; that was the sort of individual he was.
He had dedicated numerous years to rigorous training and skill refinement, practicing the same punch hundreds of thousands of times.
If he couldn't unleash that power when it truly mattered, then what was the purpose of all his efforts?
Nevertheless, Batar's readiness to face Zin did not guarantee a victory.
TREMBLE!
A shockwave emanated outward as their fists met. A tremor coursed through Zin's form, which lacked the sheer muscularity and breadth of Batar's physique.
Yet, he held his ground, not yielding an inch. The full force of the impact was absorbed by the earth beneath him.
In stunned disbelief, Batar gazed at Zin. His emerald eyes flickered sideways, observing Zin's left hand slowly ascend.
"Wait..." Batar whispered to himself. "Where is his apple? He never goes anywhere without that thing! Where did it vanish to?"
But a genuine flash of emotion crossed Batar's face as Zin curled his fingers. Batar recognized the impending danger.
"This is my first strike," Zin declared, thrusting his hand forward, stopping mere inches from Batar's chest.
Click!
The instant he snapped his fingers, a vacuum materialized between himself and Batar, rapidly drawing in streams of air. Unlike their previous encounter in the Pit, before Es'aha, the resulting sounds did not dissipate.
Under the immense pressure, all the energy from the void violently converged upon Batar, Zin's intended target.
Crack! Crack! Crack!
A dozen lacerations tore open across Batar's chest, from which blood began to pour.
Fortuitously, his arm remained largely untouched, as it was not the focus of Zin's assault.
Without a moment's pause, Zin shifted his stance, drawing his right leg upward.
Before Batar's feet could even reconnect with the ground, Zin's body vibrated intensely.
Like a spear piercing the very wind, Zin's foot drove deep into Batar's abdomen, folding the formidable warrior in half as if all his vaunted defenses were utterly insignificant against Zin's onslaught.
"GHA!!!"
Spewing a torrent of blood, Batar was sent hurtling past Kelya and Narha.
Their eyes widened in sheer astonishment. While both had witnessed Zin in combat at least once, neither had ever faced him directly.
However, neither Kelya nor Narha were weak combatants.
"Damn it, Zin! You chose me as your opponent! Don't you dare complain later that I was too rough with you!"
Kelya and Narha exchanged a knowing glance. A single look was sufficient for them to concur.
Merely minutes prior, they had been adversaries, but now, a shared foe stood before them. They could not afford to waste precious time on each other with Zin present.
Narha leaned forward, her gleaming white katana catching the light. "We must deal with him first before we can continue! There is no other path!"
In a flash, their forms blurred as they surged forward, positioning themselves on either flank of Zin.
His amethyst eyes observed them with piercing intensity, tracking their every motion. No, it was more than mere observation; he perceived their actions, heard each breath they drew, and felt the rhythm of their heartbeats with absolute clarity.
"Now!" Kelya cried out as they both brought their feet down in a coordinated assault.
Rather than evading, Zin opted once more to intercept the blow. He raised his arms, using his wrists to block their descending feet.
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
A violent tremor radiated across the ground from the combined force of their attack, a fusion of azure lightning and encroaching darkness aimed at subduing the formidable opponent before them.
"I can't even fathom what this bastard is capable of," Kelya mused inwardly, her gaze trembling as much as her heart. "But we absolutely must defeat him, right here, right now! There's no alternative!"
Narha was in complete accord, and in the following instant, they repositioned themselves, launching another wave of attacks.
Clash! Clash! Clash!
With every impact, Zin withstood their strikes while remaining rooted to his spot. It mattered not where Narha and Kelya directed their assaults – their legs, chest, sides, neck, and head – he devised methods to parry or evade each one.
"SHIT!" Kelya exclaimed, leaping backward after evading another strike.
Following more than a dozen direct assaults from the two most powerful unranked monsters, Zin remained entirely unscathed and had not shifted his position even by a single step.
His superiority was not so absolute that he was impervious to their attacks. His hands quivered slightly from the recoil, his feet sank deeper into the ground, and his previously unwavering stance had begun to falter.
Nevertheless, due to the exquisite skill with which he had parried their assaults, the pair were already close to exhaustion, while he had utilized merely a sliver of his might.
This encounter was not a contest between colossal beings of disparate power levels; rather, it was an exhibition of a novice pitted against a seasoned master in terms of sheer skill.
In that precise instant, a singular realization dawned upon Kelya and Narha:
'He is unequivocally superior to us.'
The thought materialized in their minds in unison, the words resonating with a sharp pang of agony in their souls.
"You comprehend," Zin exhaled with a profound sigh. "I remain uncertain of the formidable strength possessed by this Adam Vinter. However, if he has the capacity to vanquish the two of you, then I am certain my choice to engage in this Grim Court was the correct one. You are both exceptional combatants."
Kelya gestured with her hand, indicating a desire to articulate something.
Yet, as Zin advanced, her countenance became rigid with shock.
Whoooooosh!
Accompanied by the swift rush of wind, Zin materialized directly before Narha, who had scarcely a moment to register his sudden, rapid advance.
"Well done," Zin declared with genuine commendation as his hands began to move.
CLAP!
His palms met with a crisp, resounding clap, positioned directly before Narha's nose.
At that exact juncture, her eyes widened dramatically, and a crimson flow erupted from her ears.
