Adam assessed the impenetrable sword field and overlying darkness, confirming the Dark Knight as the sole barrier to escape alongside the last servant and Frenzied Shard. The knight recognized Adam's transformed needle weapon, sparking a boastful exchange before a sudden punch hurled Adam into the wall. Loargh's circling assault faltered under a shockwave, leading to his capture and choking by the knight, whose living cape devoured Vyora's flaming orbs while Sarka loosened the grip with a blue flame blast, enabling Loargh's retreat as a meteorite plummeted toward the foe.

The quartet—Loargh, Vyora, Sarka, and Adam—struggled desperately to match the Dark Knight's blistering speed.

He'd discovered counters for Loargh's blinding quickness, Vyora's scorching flames, and Sarka's brutal frontal assault with total ease.

Yet Sarka's blow landed some effect. The Dark Knight's grasp faltered briefly, giving Loargh the chance to fall back to safety.

But escape wasn't just for him alone.

"Sarka! Run!" he bellowed from across the field.

Amused, she glanced upward at the plummeting meteorite. Previously aimed at her and Adam, now she temporarily sided with Vyora.

"Hah, decided to play your trump card right away? Alright, good luck with that, old man!" Sarka taunted the Dark Knight mockingly before leaping backward.

She halted right beside Adam.

"Are you okay?" Sarka questioned, concern flickering in her tone, as Adam alone had suffered the Dark Knight's direct hit.

Adam nodded, rising from the ground.

"Yeah, but I feel like I got hit by a fucking train." He grimaced while shifting his arm, still quivering faintly from the collision. "Don't let him catch you. If your fists collide, it won't be his bone that breaks, it'll be yours."

Under normal circumstances, Sarka would've dismissed it with haughty pride, but not this time. She'd clashed directly with the Dark Knight's sword herself, and even with the outcome, it fell short of her expectations.

'He simply parried my strike, and my fire barely touched him. What if he'd swung back instead of just blocking?'

In any case, every eye now locked onto the meteorite.

The sword field carried a critical flaw for both the Dark Knight and the Frenzied Shard: a sealed arena offering no escape to either.

The Dark Knight had no path to flee the sword field and dodge, nor could he edge toward the walls. Safeguarding the Frenzied Shard from obliteration was essential.

"Hmm… That's a dangerous power, young lady." The Dark Knight rasped, methodically pulling his sword free. "Unfortunately for you, I can't let that meteorite fall. In that case, nothing but ashes will remain of this beautiful field."

Vyora could hardly process his words.

'Agh? He plans to halt my meteorite? I infused it with massive power!'

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

As figures materialized within the oppressive darkness over the sword field, the Dark Knight's sword quivered.

Slash!

The Dark Knight slashed through mere air, but here his blade acted as a conduit, directing the actual weapon.

A massive shadow sword burst from the darkness, rivaling the size of the wall's encircling blades.

Moments later, the shadow sword surged at the meteorite, bisecting the colossal mass cleanly.

Vyora's jaw hung slack in disbelief, yet the Dark Knight continued unabated.

Slash! Slash! Slash!

With each swing trailing inky shadows, a new shadow sword spawned overhead, carving fresh gashes into the meteorite.

By the fourth slash, the quartet of shadow swords cleaved through simultaneously. The enormous fiery boulder had shattered into over a dozen chunks by then.

Adam's brow furrowed. 'I get it now. That's the anomaly I spotted in the darkness before, huh? He prepared ahead. He foresaw someone eyeing the Frenzied Shard eventually, so he crafted this inescapable trap.'

The Dark Knight showed no signs of halting, persisting with his swings until the meteorite reduced to minuscule pebbles that pattered to the earth.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

So diminutive were the pebbles that, striking the withered grass, they'd shed every trace of flame and warmth—nearly icy, without a spark to kindle blaze.

In her stunned haze, Vyora grappled with the scene's reality, while Adam probed the looming darkness above.

'His innate ability or raw energy? No matter, he can't turn it on us directly. That's fortunate. Those swords seem insanely perilous.'

Deliberately, the Dark Knight lowered his sword to the ground and pivoted toward Vyora.

"What now? You and this young man, you're both from the dome pillar, aren't you?"

Vyora gnawed her lip till it nearly drew blood. "How did you figure that out?"

"It's simple. You still can't believe that the attack you've practiced so many times turned out to be useless. Still, I can see how much effort you put into that meteorite. Otherwise, it would have taken me a few fewer swings of my sword."

Loargh bent forward while his aura steadied itself. He understood that mere basic strikes wouldn't bring down the Dark Knight any longer. They needed to unleash something far greater.

"Hey!"

All of a sudden, Adam's shout echoed from nearby.

The Dark Knight whipped around, beholding the enormous scissors suspended in the air right before Adam.

"Try cutting that, you bastard."

Right then, the scissors clamped together as the phantom blade slashed wildly across the battlefield.

The slash tore open the earth, yet the Dark Knight made no haste to evade. Indeed, for the first time in battle, the urge to dodge flashed through his mind, but he simply couldn't—the Frenzied Shard loomed directly behind him.

Bound by his contract, he had to shield the Frenzied Shard above all else, or face total ruin.

'The Phantoms… They always stir the greatest chaos, especially the young ones. But that's not enough!'

Stomp!

The Dark Knight slammed his foot down and executed a sweeping horizontal slash with his sword, clashing it against the phantom blade.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

Waves rippled across the air while a torrent of sparks erupted around the Dark Knight. His arm quivered, but his sword endured the colossal force arrayed against it.

Adam's eyes grew shadowed as he saw the Dark Knight halt his devastating assault.

'I expected this, but… what can you do about it?' he pondered while two additional phantom blades formed in his palms.
