Endless Evolution: Last Star Chapter 1587 1587: Three Attacks

Previously on Endless Evolution: Last Star...
Goen effortlessly withstood a barrage of attacks from the fifth team's seven monsters, dominating with bare fists and energy while the Old Horn summoned his axe in a fierce clash. As the hammer-wielding monster unleashed a scorching flame strike, Goen countered swiftly, hurling him off the waterfall into the river below and following to continue the fight, prompting the team to pursue. The Old Horn revealed that Goen's momentary panic stemmed not from fear, but from protecting his lakeside home from the fire's destructive heat, enraging Liliane and spurring the Lords to activate their trump cards—summoning elemental fields of azure hail, flames, and lightning against him.

All creatures reaching the Lord Level, such as the Phantoms, held immense powers. Actually, they rarely deployed those powers since the moment an Arc got summoned, the fight often wrapped up without further need.

Whenever a Lord called forth his Arc, it typically signaled the battle's close, with the foe's life hanging by a thread—yet this encounter proved different.

In certain aspects, Goen's predicament echoed Saegar's clash with the Lords of the Befallen Crown.

True danger only emerged once they revealed their star abilities.

Of course, even those didn't secure victory for the Lords, but this time they confronted not Saegar or Kenward, rather an enigmatic hunter who unexpectedly wielded tremendous strength.

Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.

From overhead, the azure arrows poised to shower down on Goen, as fiery pillars surged upward from the left side.

His steady eyes shifted leftward, spotting the lightning dragons hungry to bury their teeth into him and rip him apart.

Such formidable abilities could overwhelm nearly any beast in the Primal Lands, yet the mysterious hunter stayed composed.

'Well, what else could I anticipate from them? Based on their moves, I bet they've never battled even one Second Rank Phantom.'

Goen pivoted toward the flaming pillars, slamming his foot down on the earth.

"Back!" Liliane cried out, gesturing with her hand. She figured Goen was at last unveiling his Nexus.

The rest responded swiftly, gazing at Goen with terror in their stares. The sole outlier was the Old Horn, intrigued to witness how this hunter would escape the bind.

Tremble.

The air quivered while a surge of raw energy rushed into Goen's balled-up fist.

Liliane's eyes grew wide as she grasped the truth—Goen was channeling both his energy and raw physical force for the strike.

Crackle. Crackle. Crackle.

The flame-wrapped stone pillars crashed against the ground. Fire swallowed Goen entirely, leaving soon just a pile of cinders behind.

"Gha..." Goen breathed out chilly air, peering at the fifth team through the roaring blaze before him.

His muscles tightened, his body bent back, and he unleashed a devastating punch ahead.

The naked fist collided with the stone pillars, sending a blast that cleared away all in its wake.

In an instant, no sign remained of the hammer man's power.

This wasn't some hidden ability or secret tool from Goen. Instead, his sheer energy alone sufficed to nullify the foe's assault completely.

Despite the fifth team's stunned reaction, the azure arrows and lightning dragons pressed onward, and Goen stood prepared.

He whirled abruptly, thrusting his palms out—one upward, the other leftward.

The blast hurled the azure arrows off course and shredded the lightning dragons apart.

These powers ranked even weaker than the flaming pillars.

"Ah..." Goen rolled his shoulder like it was mere exercise. "Great. Now I'm definitely awake."

He glanced back at Liliane.

"What's next?"

Liliane's mouth quivered. She never imagined three star abilities would fail so utterly against Goen. This derailed her entire scheme.

"Silent?" Goen cocked his head, chill entering his gaze. "I see. Looks like I was wrong to hope for more from you lot."

Whooooooooosh.

In a flash, Goen materialized before the hammer man, who stood paralyzed in dread.

"You know, bringing fiery abilities to the snow lands is poor taste."

Goen's raised hand cast a shadow over the hammer man. He sensed his impending doom, yet somehow his body refused to budge.

Terror locked him down, blocking even a sideways shuffle. It stemmed purely from the vast gap in their strengths.

"Hey."

The Old Horn seized Goen's wrist, halting him right at the brink.

"Don't take it so hard. I doubt this fellow will wreck your peaceful spot again."

Goen directed his stare at him.

"Do you think that changes anything?"

"Agh?"

"You invaded to slay one of ours. Taking each of you out is my timeless obligation."

Thrust!

Blood gushed from the hammer man's chest as the Old Horn glanced downward. Goen's left arm had pierced the man's torso to the wrist, smashing his heart ruthlessly.

A chill raced through the Old Horn's frame as he leaped away, bracing for combat.

"Y-You..." The hammer man wheezed before collapsing at Goen's feet.

His blood soaked the icy terrain below, right before his battle-hardened comrades' eyes.

"NOOOO!" The axe man bellowed, gearing up to vent his rage on Goen, but the pale man blocked his path in time.

"Stop."

The pale man clenched his lip. Even he struggled to stay detached amid this horror.

"If you charge him now, you'll just meet your end."

The red-haired girl swallowed hard.

'He handled it like child's play... Could he have taken any of us whenever he wanted, leaving us defenseless?'

From their vantage above, Adam and Alexia watched in equal astonishment. Even Saegar needed his Arc and powers to fell the Lords with a single weapon stroke.

Goen relied solely on his unadulterated might, his battle-forged physique in its peak state.

Yet... one figure stayed utterly serene through it all.

"Well, well, I didn't expect it this quick." The young man shook his head, showing no sorrow for his dead companion. "Blame his weakness for it."

"Hey, you!" Alexia burst out. "Don't you feel anything for him at all?!"

The young man flung his arms out.

"Yeah, something like that. But his death won't go to waste."

His gaze sharpened as he turned to Liliane.

"Because now our captain is truly furious."
