Endless Debt Chapter 1579 - 95: Annihilation
Previously on Endless Debt...
The Throat of the Abyss compared to the Beast of the Herd, both calamities of this world, is undoubtedly much more troublesome. With the power to effortlessly tear through curved paths, it can, within minutes, deliver a significant amount of troops to key positions on the battlefield. Bologue could already foresee the extraordinary effect the Throat of the Abyss would have in the coming war.
It must not be allowed to escape!
In an instant, Bologue’s mind was consumed by this obsessive thought. He raised his envious bite, ether entwined with the power of the curved path, rapidly spreading forward like an invisible lightning bolt. At the endpoint, it erupted, tearing open a writhing curved pathway rift.
He stepped forward, and almost simultaneously as Bologue plunged into the rift, his figure emerged at the endpoint. Then he swung his sword again; within mere seconds, he crossed the entire battlefield and descended upon the high wall.
"Bologue!"
Aimou exclaimed as she arrived at the high wall, only then realizing the dire situation here.
The enormous rift in the curved pathway split the defenses of the Fortress of the Morning Wind directly on a spatial level. No matter how sturdy it was, no matter how many heavy cannons defended it, all efforts dissipated under this seemingly cheating offensive.
Masses of Bloodthirsty emerged from it. Even more deadly, Aimou noticed the bizarrely writhing flesh on them, burgeoning like proliferating fungi, growing recklessly. Some Bloodthirsty were completely enveloped into pulsing meatballs, and as they moved, flesh spores were spread, sprouting crimson buds wherever they landed.
Blood and Flesh Plague!
Aimou was too familiar with this abominable, writhing flesh. The presence of the Sect of Crimson Decay was almost a constant in both their careers—those damn bastards seemed to be everywhere.
Bologue was not particularly surprised. In his expectations, due to the continuous pressure from the Order Bureau, these Devils would eventually band together, and now his prediction had merely come true.
The Sect of Crimson Decay had allied with the Rebellious Royal Court, and the marching of the flesh advanced in strides. They were grotesque, wielding claws and blades, muttering incessantly with bizarre gibberish that sounded like taboo chants or painful lamentations.
This would be an extremely terrifying army. Though it posed little threat to High Tier Condensers, it would be a despairing tide of death for the many Low Tier Condensers.
Once they breached the Fortress of the Morning Wind, as the Dark Iron Curtain advanced into the expansive Wind Source Highlands, given their pathological spread speed, the entire Highlands could become a terrifying hell within a month.
The battle further escalated, but Bologue merely glanced at the terrifying march and then paid it no further heed. Instead, he sped towards the rift in the wall created by the curved path.
Bologue’s mind was clear. He understood that to resolve the crisis completely, he had to cut off the transport channel of the Bloodthirsty army and preferably slay the Throat of the Abyss directly, erasing this troublesome calamity of the world.
As the war progressed, the strategic value of the Throat of the Abyss would only increase. Bologue dared not imagine what disaster would unfold should this creature tear open a rift from the Pillar of Royal Authority straight to Oubos in Oath City.
His racing figure plunged into the army of Bloodthirsty like a falling meteor, plowing through vast swathes of land with ease, sending crimson figures flying.
"Charge!"
Aimou cheered for Bologue, hoping to break the eerie silence of the kill that could make one’s skin crawl.
Bologue did not wield his sword; he merely pressed forward stubbornly, with the furious secret energy following relentlessly, indiscriminately crushing the surrounding enemies.
In an instant, all the Bloodthirsty within the field were flattened into splattering blood clots, blood and flesh splattering the ground. Even though they didn’t die, they still retained a high degree of activity.
Like blood-red worms, they struggled in the pools of blood, transforming the surrounding inorganics, further polluting the land. Bologue indifferently surveyed the boiling blood; the heavy pressure of ether descended again, as if a piledriver, repeatedly pounding the surrounding land, crushing the remaining flesh, striving to reduce their activity as much as possible.
Aimou watched the brutal battle tensely, but then she heard Bologue laughing.
He said, "You know, Palmer’s family fortune is depreciating by the second."
"Huh?"
The cold joke from Bologue left Aimou a bit off-guard. Was he really thinking about that at such a time?
Just as Aimou was about to say something to make Bologue get serious, Bologue loudly declared.
"Aimou, get ready, we’re going to take a risk next."
Following his words came Bologue’s chaotic thoughts, where Aimou understood Bologue’s intention.
"You’re crazy!"
Practically at the moment Aimou shouted, Bologue, like a war chariot, ruthlessly swept through the ranks of Bloodthirsty. He showed no sign of stopping, stepping onto the mountains of piled corpses, striding into the giant rift in the curved pathway opened by the Throat of the Abyss.
If the army of Bloodthirsty were a deadly flood, at this moment, Bologue not only severed it forcefully but also moved upstream to destroy the source of the calamity completely.
The moment he stepped into the pathway, a mysterious sense of alienation spread. This feeling was not unfamiliar to Aimou; she experienced it each time traversing the curved path. But this time, the sensation perpetually expanded, and the path entered seemed endless, consisting only of chaos and darkness.
"What’s going on?"
Aimou wondered, logically speaking, after entering the Curved Pathway Rift, they should have appeared on the other side of the rift, at the entrance of the Bloodthirsty army, but now they still lingered in the hazy darkness, seemingly stuck within the pathway.
The vast silence pressed against her eardrums; Aimou felt as if she had been here before, yet couldn’t remember where she had experienced such an uncanny sensation.
"Transfer Station."
Bologue suddenly spoke, his voice shattering the silence, and countless fragmented whispers rushed into Aimou’s mind, shaking her core.
"What did you say?" Aimou tried to steady her emotions.
"I said, this place is just like the Transfer Station of the Order Bureau, seemingly a hub for Curved Path Shuttling, and also the... lair of the Throat of the Abyss."
Bologue said this, warily looking ahead into the darkness, where a pale worm emerged. It seemed surprised that Bologue dared to chase into the Curved Pathway Rift, arriving at its lair.
It arched its enormous body, countless arms supporting the surroundings, its corpse-covered body emitting a sharp, trembling sound, like a warning to Bologue.
Bologue silently grasped the Resentment Bite, ready for battle, when heavy, distant footsteps echoed as a batch of Bloodthirsty approached from the dark.
His gaze wandered between the two, and finally, Bologue turned back to look at the direction he had come from.
"That means, at the end of these Bloodthirsty lies the Land of Eternal Night," Bologue said softly, "If we charge forward now, maybe we can encounter the Regent King in command."
"Bologue..."
Aimou was so tense she could hardly breathe; Bologue’s actions were too reckless. Now he was not only thinking about slaying the Throat of the Abyss but also planned to storm the Land of Eternal Night directly.
"Relax, I can do it, I have the confidence."
Bologue reassured, while raising the Resentment Bite, and the Ether surged with agitation, causing the newly appeared Bloodthirsty to explode into tainted blood, disappearing into the darkness.
The Throat of the Abyss slowly moved its body, assuming a hunting posture, its giant maw opening, filled with rows of backward spikes, as if it could chew through stone and grind flesh.
Its grotesque body was inscribed with taboos, but Bologue wasn’t intimidated, instead curiously observing the prominent scar on the Throat of the Abyss.
Bologue remembered this scar, a lethal strike left by Hill, and even after all these years, the scar had not healed.
As the Throat of the Abyss wriggled, the scar twisted along with it, subtly bleeding, this touch of red striking on its pale shell.
It’s a pity Hill didn’t manage to completely kill this monster back then... but there’s nothing to regret, it’s fitting for Bologue to complete this battle himself, a personal revenge.
"Bologue..."
A hoarse voice emanated from the dark maw.
"Oh? I’ve always thought that something like you would lack what is called sentience."
Bologue curiously observed while continuously channeling Ether, the darkness resounded with bursts of bodily explosions.
Those Night Race members far away in the Land of Eternal Night likely wouldn’t know that the inside of the pathway had turned into a Death Zone; their transported Bloodthirsty, upon entering, would be annihilated by Bologue.
"Bologue..."
The hoarse voice persisted, Bologue frowned, suspecting that the Throat of the Abyss lacked advanced intelligence, acting purely on monstrous instinct.
"What are you planning to do?"
Aimou inquired, knowing Bologue was exceedingly strong, but still doubted his capability to slay such a worldly calamity.
These utterly blasphemous monsters, in many ways, are more challenging than a Seeker of Glory. If a Seeker of Glory represents the perfect creation of Alchemy Matrix Technology, then a worldly calamity is the pure embodiment of the greatest malice across realms.
Bologue said nothing, but without knowing when, a brilliantly translucent Crystal Core appeared in his hand.
Outside the Material Realm, with no innocents present, surrounded only by enemies, Bologue felt there was no more suitable time to initiate the Great Erasure.
Without hesitation, a massive influx of Ether surged into the Crystal Core, a flickering flame lit within, resembling the first fire of the world, frozen in this brilliance, undergoing Ether’s sacrifice, it began to expand and burn.
Purge the earth.
