Bologue and Palmer are being hunted and manage to recruit Yolanda and Yannis to help them escape by using movie lines as a ploy. Once inside a tailor shop, Bologue reveals his true intentions, requesting supplies and a discreet route to the Supreme Hub, much to Palmer's confusion.

Rows of shelves stood neatly in place, crammed with injectors containing Mang Silver Souls to replenish Ether, along with medical kits, standard-issue Alchemy Armaments, and all kinds of other supplies.

"Ossana had all this planned out long ago?"

Bologue was mildly surprised, then he realized Ossana hadn’t calculated him into the equation; she had only foreseen that this day would come. Even without him, someone else would have shown up here when the time came.

It just so happened that the one who appeared at this particular moment was Bologue, and that was all.

"Any of you hurt?" Yolanda said, opening a medical kit.

"No one’s hurt," Bologue shook his head, then added, "I’m an Undead, he’s a Lucky Ghost. This is the last kind of stuff we need."

"To be honest, I don’t feel very lucky." Palmer nervously rubbed his Lucky Dice.

After stabbing several injectors into his neck, a faint glow flickered in Bologue’s eyes. Then he grabbed handfuls more injectors and strapped them to his body, just in case.

Palmer, meanwhile, had taken an interest in those standard Alchemy Armaments. Most of them were consumables that could be triggered mechanically without any Ether infusion.

Stuffing Alchemy Grenades along his waist one by one, Palmer opened several boxes of Alchemy Warheads, slotted them into ammo belts, and slung the belts across his chest.

Seeing him geared up like this, Bologue was reminded of the rookies he’d once led during the Scorched Earth Wrath campaign.

"You that short on sense of security?" Bologue asked.

Palmer patted the ammo belt on his chest. "Not anymore."

"You’re planning to just charge straight into the Supreme Hub?" Yolanda cut in. "That’s not a wise choice."

"It’s definitely not wise, but it’s the optimal solution," Bologue said. "I’m very good at decapitation ops, and only by taking out the decision-making core can we bring this mess to a halt."

"That’s way too reckless. You have no idea what kind of power the All Secrets Order has hidden away."

Yolanda kept trying to talk him down. This was a rare chance to shake the Ancestral Council; as a member of the Truth Faction, she couldn’t just watch Bologue walk to his death—at least not before the strategic objective was achieved.

"I know, I know."

Bologue spoke as he tore off his shredded clothes and changed into a traditional Condenser outfit he’d grabbed outside. Gray fabric shot through with bright silver threads, it looked particularly flashy.

Normally, Bologue preferred something more low-key, something he could disappear into a crowd with just by dropping his head. But this time, he was pressed for time; he couldn’t waste any on picking outfits. After a quick search, this was the only one that fit him decently.

Pulling on the clothes and throwing a cloak over them, Bologue went on, "Yeah, I’ve been in this hellhole for not even forty-eight hours. How could I possibly know everything about this place?"

Thinking Bologue had finally come to his senses, Yolanda let out a breath of relief—only for Bologue to continue.

"So I need you. You locals are going to tell me everything you know," Bologue said as he drew out Grudgebite. "Sorry, this isn’t a request, it’s coercion. I don’t have time to waste on emotional bonding and earning your trust."

The silent Yannis glanced at the murderous Bologue and, in less than a few seconds, recognized which way the wind was blowing. Wordlessly, he pulled open another hidden hatch in the floor of the storage room.

The hatch yawned into a bottomless darkness.

Bologue raised an eyebrow and sheathed Grudgebite. "Thanks for your cooperation."

Seeing there was no stopping him, Yolanda’s tone turned thoroughly pessimistic. "That’s not the line from that movie."

"I know," Bologue walked over to the hatch and added, "It’s from another movie."
