Endless Debt Chapter 1342 - 105: Abyssal Well_4

"Watch out! Bologue!"
Aimou noticed something and shouted a warning to Bologue.
At this moment, Bologue also became aware of the source of danger. Hammer was manipulating the Beast of the Herd, turning the light blaze to aim the charred wound towards the earth. The deadly flow of fire became his weapon, indiscriminately baptizing all living creatures on the ground.
"There! That ruin!"
Aimou directed Bologue, the Beast of the Herd raised the Golden Palace from the ground, and in its original location, a broken ruin was left behind. It served as a natural shelter and happened to be underneath the Beast of the Herd, temporarily accounting as its blind spot for attacks.
A sea of fire surged forward. Without any hesitation, Bologue slashed the Giant Sword to open a Curved Pathway Rift, and plunged into it. As soon as he left the pathway, he swung the sword again, relying on repeated strikes to turn a short-distance shuttle into a long-distance traversal, thereby evading the sea of fire’s assault until his exhausted form staggered into the ruins.
Bologue had no time to rest. He dove into the depths of the ruins, racing down shattered stairs towards the underground, with tongues of fire closely following him, nearly catching Bologue.
"Phew... Are we safe now?"
Bologue sat in the corner, panting heavily, as the ruins continuously quaked as if enduring a persistent and unending earthquake.
Having lost its target, the Beast of the Herd tried to break away from Raymond Gaudent, but its long occupation of this city had almost made it part of the place, with towering spires surrounding Ashen Plaza now forming a cage, blocking the Beast’s path.
Bologue injected syringe after syringe into his body, disregarding the dangers of drug overdose, urgently trying to recover to his best state.
Aimou detached from Bologue’s body, her curiosity piqued by this ruin, especially since only minutes ago, it still served as a part of the Golden Palace, its foundation.
Just under the destructive force of the Beast of the Herd, this underground area was now in shambles, walls riddled with cracks, debris everywhere, along with collapsed stone pillars.
"Bologue?"
Aimou seemed to have discovered something and called out to Bologue.
Bologue stood up, leaning on the sword, advancing towards Aimou’s ether response in the darkness.
All light was absent here. Without a shred of brightness, Bologue cautiously took a few steps forward until Aimou’s figure appeared ahead. She was observing something, yet there was nothing visible in the darkness.
"I need light," Aimou said.
Bologue waved his hand, and the Rhombus Shield ignited like a floating torch, flying towards the edge of darkness. As the light gradually dispelled the darkness, the two began to see their surroundings more clearly.
Unlike the artistic and mysterious decor style within Raymond Gaudent, this place was surprisingly plain, filled with rusty steel corridors and an extremely gigantic drilling machine. It stood silent in the darkness like a steel giant beast, its meter-wide drill suspended overhead like a Giant Sword awaiting judgment.
But more than these, what truly caught Bologue’s attention was the item beneath the gigantic drill.
A pitch-black deep well, so profound that Bologue tossed a burning Rhombus Shield into it, which continued descending until the shield reached its limit of control, still not touching the bottom.
As for listening to the echo of its fall? There was none.
"In Saqin’s research on the Soulless, they mentioned a place called the Abyssal Well," Aimou said softly, as if narrating a distant story, "Bologue, I’ve been wondering how they managed to refine the primal object."
Looking towards the pitch-black deep well, Aimou said, "Now it seems the answer is simple, they just dug deep enough."
"Ether is foreign energy, and over the centuries, it has been gradually transforming the Material Realm, penetrating deeper from the surface to the core... Just dig deep enough, and you’ll find material untainted by Ether."
Bologue whispered softly, a sense of absurdity washed over him. Who would have thought the primal object was found through such a simple and crude method? Then Bologue realized something.
The Rhombus Shields erupted in flames, illuminating the darkness entirely.
In the dark corner, Bologue saw them once more, skeletons hand in hand, along with shattered containers strewn across the ground... Bologue suspected they might have once held numerous embryos.
Embryos of the Soulless.
