Bologne found himself trapped by a sonic Anima Matrix, his own reflection attacking him. Forced to sever his own arm to escape, he was saved by Aimou. They discovered the city's defenses were layered, with crystalline structures that sealed and absorbed Ether, suggesting a powerful alchemical structure at work.

Bologue was silent for a while, then increased the ether output, continuously injecting ether into the crystal underfoot. The ether was quickly absorbed, but Bologue’s intention was never to penetrate the crystal, rather to illuminate it.

The gleam of ether burned fiercely, illuminating the frozen dead sea beneath, then extinguished.

"Oh my god..."

Aimou exclaimed, the gleam of ether only lasted a moment, temporarily lighting up the crystal, yet she saw everything within that brief interval.

Within this frozen dead sea, countless corpses were sealed, all maintaining a posture of painful curling, as if they had suffered immense torment before death.

Although the corpses had turned into mummies, their faded clothing was still clear, and Aimou noticed the uniqueness of their attire.

"Those people... are they soldiers?"

Bologue nodded with a pale face, Aimou couldn’t recognize these people, but Bologue could, even saying that among these mummified bodies, there might be a few acquaintances of Bologue.

"Yes, the soldiers, soldiers of the Rhine Alliance."

Bologue worked hard to move his gaze away from the dark blue crystal ground, speaking emotionlessly, "Looks like, back then, they indeed breached that high wall and entered Raymond Gaudent."

"But they also suffered a counterattack from Raymond Gaudent, meeting their ends here." Aimou sighed.

"Seems like the reason we barely managed to escape just now was because of these people... all of them."

The Fall of the Holy City caused Raymond Gaudent to be damaged, turning into ruins, also disrupting the original layout of the city, leading to the melody that arose having its flaws. If it weren’t for those flaws waking Bologue up, he might indeed have been trapped here.

Coincidence?

A vague thought arose in Bologue’s mind, unrelated to these deceased soldiers, but rather the layout of that scene just now, which seemed familiar and reminded him of the Ethereal Realm.

Indeed, within the Ethereal Realm there was a similar frozen sea, with countless earthly souls stored within.

"I’m beginning to wonder what the original appearance of this place was like; it should have been truly magnificent."

Aimou regrouped with Bologue, she praised the grandeur of this creation and developed infinite curiosity about King Solomon.

"Perhaps."

Bologue replied perfunctorily, maintaining the ether output to form a thin layer of ethereal barrier around him.

That eerie melody was indeed terrifying, but as long as there was a certain level of protection, it could be easily restrained. After a moment’s thought, Bologue avoided the direction the wind was blowing from, choosing the opposite route.

According to Bologue’s estimation, in the Abandoned Land, there shouldn’t be any natural winds; the only thing capable of stirring up gusts would be the breath of the Calamity, walking towards the direction the wind came from would be undoubtedly approaching the Calamity.

If it were merely the Calamity, it wouldn’t be too bad; Bologue had fought against it before, though only cutting off a few limbs. But it’s necessary to know that the presence of the Calamity is meant to seal another entity.

Radiant Blaze.

Walking along the direction the wind came from not only leads to the Calamity but also can catch sight of Radiant Blaze’s presence—Bologue doesn’t wish to encounter this old friend’s power just yet.

Lightening his steps, maintaining the ethereal barrier while ensuring the Ethereal Concealment remains effective, Bologue moved like a ghost through the long corridor.

The Order Bureau had explored Raymond Gaudent several times before, each exploration resulting in great casualties. Yet, even so, the information obtained was limited, let alone a map of Raymond Gaudent.

"Take the Ruins District as an example, Raymond Gaudent should tend towards chaos after suffering continuous heavy damage."

Bologue communicated mentally with Aimou, "This place is unusually orderly."

"Maybe this is the gap between us and King Solomon," Aimou responded, "Don’t forget, the Cultivation Room is based on fragments of Raymond Gaudent and modeled after it."

Bologue replied softly, again suspecting what kind of knowledge King Solomon possessed and where his knowledge, surpassing the era, originated from.

Leviathan?

Bologue once confirmed from Leviathan’s mouth that King Solomon was once his Chosen One. It’s normal if such power came from the Devil, but strangely, if the Devil truly possessed such power, why wouldn’t they utilize it themselves?

Leviathan could completely manipulate a group of poor souls, letting them build his majestic city-state, instead of entrusting the power to a scholar hard to control.

"Bologue, there’s a door."

Aimou interrupted Bologue’s thoughts, Bologue looked forward, he had already reached the end of the corridor where a large door blocked the way.

The towering door was marked with mottled rust and scratches; Bologue didn’t rush to push it open but examined it warily.

Aimou murmured, "It is said that every door within Raymond Gaudent is a Curved Path Gate. King Solomon used this method to completely disrupt the city’s space, only his most intimate disciples knowing all the pathways."

"So, this might be a Curved Path Gate, plus we don’t know whether stepping through it will lead us to a safe area, or directly into the hands of the Calamity, or under the neon of the Radiant Blaze?"

Bologue reached out to touch the cold large door, murmuring under his breath, "Sounds like opening a blind box, no wonder it took so much effort to capture this city back then."
