Endless Debt Chapter 1310 - 95: The Beginning of Discord (Part 3)
Previously on Endless Debt...
Beelzebub murmured, spewing massive amounts of tar, and yet another shadow slowly rose.
The shadows intertwined to form a vast expanse of darkness, with indistinct massive figures twisting in the air, creating an ever-changing scene. Their movements were slow, but each impact carried astonishing power, enough to shake the mountains.
Waves of vibration stirred ripples, transforming into a howling airwave that swept across the land.
They bit and tore at each other, twisting into a whirlpool of darkness. In this chaos, they continuously twisted, merged, and separated. The confrontation between darkness and darkness was elusive, like an endless battle of distortion.
The turmoil of the battle echoed ominously within the Ethereal Realm, as if attracted by power, more shadows emerged one after another. Yet, they did not open their crimson multitude of eyes, merely watched silently.
The blazing white storm traversing the heavens and earth was the same.
It stood quietly, attracting countless souls and ether, its blazing white light scattering the approaching shadows one by one.
Massive swathes of snow dust rose, shadows like bloodthirsty beasts, their chaotic forms rendering their actions evil and sly, with countless eyes revealing cruelty and desire, seemingly representatives of darkness itself.
The chaotic darkness crumbled, extending countless swaying limbs, emitting a spine-chilling roar filled with the aura of death and suffering.
This endlessly changing chaotic battle seemed to have no end, like eternal torment in Hell, unable to discern life or death, only one side growing weary and exhausted.
After this brief yet extraordinarily long moment, the writhing shadows gradually calmed, and the crimson multitude of eyes closed one by one, returning to tranquility.
Amidst the rolling snow dust, a bulky spacesuit stepped onto the ice, alone, seated on the ground.
Such brutal combat would not satisfy Leviathan, just like their Original Sin, those forbidden desires had no end.
Mammon and Beelzebub had already departed, tired of this childish skirmish. Rather than fighting each other here, they preferred to focus their efforts on reality, where true opportunities to influence each other lay.
"Sigh..."
Leviathan sighed softly, no one knew what he was thinking.
He simply sat there, allowing the swirling snow dust to gradually bury him, watching the distant blazing storm, slowly approaching him.
"Long, long ago, there was a group of naive children. Deep in the forest, they encountered a guest from the heavens."
Leviathan stood up, shook off the snow dust, muttering to himself.
"The guest said, I can grant one of you a wish, but it requires exchanging your most precious thing. So, the first child said..."
As snow dust swept by, Leviathan’s figure vanished, leaving the Ethereal Realm in silence, with only the grand anomaly remaining.
Material Realm, Pillar of Royal Authority.
After stripping away their heavy ether and abandoning one powerful authority after another, until the fragile Material Realm could once more bear their weight, in the void, the figures of Beelzebub and Mammon reappeared within the blood-colored cavern.
"Is Leviathan mad?"
Beelzebub’s chest heaved violently, the tar clinging to her skin crawled back into her eyes, nose, and mouth like worms.
Mammon stood by, gaze lowered, pondering for a moment before saying, "He seems to be drawing our attention."
"Is such a rash decision possible?" Beelzebub retorted.
"It is indeed impulsive, but it is also effective, isn’t it?" Mammon maintained his composure, though Leviathan’s actions had angered him. "Remember what I told you about Leviathan’s plot for a New World?"
"Think about his recent words. Perhaps my speculation is true. We destroyed the Holy City, killed King Solomon, but failed to destroy the key to the New World. Leviathan must have acquired the key, using it to promise others and gather them..."
Mammon squinted, murmuring, "This is not just a dispute trying to eradicate us, it’s Leviathan’s revenge against us."
Beelzebub remained calm, carefully analyzing the battlefield, then reached the same conclusion as Mammon.
"We can’t stop him anymore."
Beelzebub’s gaze turned heavy; Leviathan had once single-handedly controlled the power of the New World, thus attracting attacks from devils. But this time, he had divided the devils through interests, and unlike before when Leviathan had a clear power base, the Holy City, now he hid in the shadows. Even if Beelzebub wished to destroy something, there was no target to be found.
Moreover, under the pressure from the King’s Shield Guards, Beelzebub had no energy left to open a new front.
Now Xilin had led his Shield Guards into the Kagader Empire’s territory, using his influence and strength, more and more lords were inclining towards Xilin, the massive empire showed signs of division.
The strength of the King’s Secret Sword was completely confined within the territory, while the Scourge Sect, over the years, had been relentlessly suppressed by the Order Bureau, their activity range forcefully controlled within the Narrow Countries.
Mammon spoke slowly, "To defeat our opponent, we must first understand him sufficiently."
"Do you have any thoughts?"
Mammon smiled and nodded, walked slowly, sharing his plan with Beelzebub.
"The New World is a coordinate, a coordinate recorded by a soul, and this soul was born in the Holy City, that beautiful ruin. Even if this soul is likely already in Leviathan’s grasp now, there must be some traces left at the soul’s birthplace."
Mammon continued, "Maybe we can find out what the soul’s name is, or even mimic King Solomon’s ritual and recreate a new soul with coordinates."
Beelzebub was somewhat skeptical, when Mammon continued, "Don’t forget, many years have passed since the Holy City’s destruction, the current Alchemy Matrix Technology and ether concentration in the environment are now entirely different."
"What was impossible before is not impossible in this era."
Mammon suddenly paused, raised a finger.
"By the way."
He slowly moved his gaze to Beelzebub, "Outside that ruin, don’t you have a loyal follower?"
Seeing Beelzebub’s expression, Mammon’s smile widened considerably, "It’s time to put down arrogance and listen to the voices of mortals."
Beelzebub asked, "Is that all?"
"Of course not, this is a war, my blood relative, since it is a war, we must mobilize all our forces."
Mammon put on his dark gloves, the slender contours of his fingers clearly visible.
"I admit, humans possess many noble qualities, but likewise, the nobler they are, the more base they become."
Mammon tidied his tie, elegantly bowing to Beelzebub.
"As long as there is sufficient interest."
After speaking, Mammon’s figure wriggled, collapsed into a pool of heated tar, disappearing.
Beelzebub then watched the gradually evaporating tar, thoughtfully.
Her cold and numb heart seemed touched in some way, as Beelzebub walked to the center of the Blood Lake, she whispered.
"O guest from heaven, take away that so-called precious thing... It is worthless to me."
