Golden Leaf City is suddenly drenched in a rain of blood, causing everyone to fall unconscious. Meanwhile, Wang Ming breaks free from a blood cocoon, having successfully bonded with the Crimson Blood Devourer and comprehended the Blood Law. He gains new abilities and observes the strange phenomenon outside, deciding to feign ignorance.

"Not bad," Wang Ming commented with a smile, disposing of the blood outside the window.

A moment later, a strange sensation made Wang Ming frown. He peered out the window, his jaw nearly hitting the floor.

"What in the world? Is it raining blood? Did I cause this?" Wang Ming uttered, swallowing hard. He noticed everyone else lying unconscious. Fortunately, the crimson downpour ceased, and people began stirring, bringing him a sigh of relief.

"I'll feign ignorance, act as if I know nothing, umu," Wang Ming decided. Admitting responsibility would force him to reveal the Crimson Blood Devourer, a secret he was determined to keep.

Wang Ming stepped back, sensing an additional soul weapon within him, joining the Abyss Dagger. Focusing his will, he summoned the Crimson Blood Devourer to his hand.

Drip

Instantly, a surge of blood materialized on his palms, coalescing into a blood-red sword. The Crimson Blood Devourer shimmered into existence in its full glory.

Grasping the hilt, he mused, "Using this sword as a conduit, I feel the power of blood has significantly amplified."

Wang Ming sensed a drastic increase in his command over blood, feeling capable of summoning and manipulating an entire river of it. He had previously considered his mastery of the Blood Law to be high, but achieving this level of efficiency with the sword clearly required more cultivation.

"Oh well, at least I have a proper sword for my techniques," Wang Ming mumbled, anticipating a threefold increase in the power and damage of his sword arts.

Roar

He willed it, and sword intent surged through the Crimson Blood Devourer. The spectral dragon behind him materialized, now at least twice its previous size. Wang Ming observed it with satisfaction, nodding, "Hmm, not bad."

----------

"Ugh…"

"My head…"

Wu Jing and Min Li, who had been knocked unconscious, slowly regained awareness, their first sensation a searing headache.

"What was that? How did I pass out?" Wu Jing groaned, rubbing her temples. She looked up, realizing the blood rain had ceased.

"What in the heavens—" Suddenly, Min Li shrieked, her eyes wide as she scanned their surroundings.

Following Min Li's gaze, Wu Jing's pupils contracted to pinpricks. "Heavens…"

She instinctively covered her mouth, staring at the scene before them: a landscape submerged in a crimson liquid, unmistakably blood.

"How much did it rain? How long were we out?" Min Li exclaimed in disbelief, her voice trembling. She scrambled to her feet; the blood reached her ankles. Thousands of city residents were partially submerged.

Others began to awaken, their faces draining of color as they took in the horrific sight.

"What the hell happened? Where did all this blood come from?"

"I've lived in Golden Leaf City my whole life and never seen anything so bizarre."

"Golden Leaf City?! I'm a merchant; I've traveled every kingdom and never witnessed such an eerie spectacle."

"This city is cursed. So many terrible things have happened recently. Is it even safe?"

"Seriously, I'm never coming back here."

"Me neither. I'm thinking of moving out immediately."

"This is dire," Min Li murmured, overhearing the panicked whispers. If the King and Patriarchs couldn't quickly provide a calm explanation and quell the unrest, a mass exodus would cripple the capital, making it infamous and deterring future commerce, leading to its decline.

"Oh, right! Let's find Wang Ming. Weren't we going to ask him what happened? Maybe he has some answers," Min Li suddenly suggested, Wu Jing's eyes brightening.

"Yes, you're right!" Wu Jing agreed, nodding, and the pair hurried towards Wang Ming's location.

Step Step

"Girls, what brings you here?" Wang Ming inquired, his gaze utterly innocent, as if he were not the cause of the pandemonium.

"Wang Ming, did you see what's happening outside? It was literally raining blood!" Wu Jing exclaimed, throwing her hands up in exasperation.

"Yes, I noticed it after I regained my consciousness," Wang Ming replied, nodding his head.

"Wang Ming, do you have any idea what caused this?" Wu Jing pressed urgently.

"Of course not. How could I possibly know? I'm just as confused as you two are," Wang Ming lied smoothly, maintaining a poker face."You truly have no idea?" Min Li inquired with suspicion, while Wang Ming indifferently regarded her, retorting, "I am not omniscient. How could you possibly expect me to be aware of everything?" Wang Ming offered a shrug as he voiced these words. "Alas, Wang Ming, I must attend to my father," Wu Jing stated, and Min Li trailed behind her. "Huff... I've narrowly escaped a perilous situation," Wang Ming remarked, mopping the perspiration from his brow. ------- One Week Later The repercussions were immense, prompting many to abandon the city under the belief that it was afflicted. However, the king and the Patriarchs successfully managed to retain the majority of the populace by extending numerous incentives, such as tax exemptions and reduced land prices. Wang Ming was seated in a cross-legged posture within his chambers, endeavoring to cultivate his soul through his specialized Soul Technique. Knock Knock "Hmm?" Wang Ming's eyes snapped open, his brow furrowed upon hearing the rapping at his door. Upon opening it, he was utterly astonished by the sight that greeted him.
