Dual Cultivation Chapter 1141: Disciple Ouyang
Previously on Dual Cultivation...
"I assume you understand the reason for my visit."
"Do I?" Su Yang questioned with a raised brow, appearing genuinely confused by her statement.
Disciple Fei shook with rage before striking the table with her palm. Her voice climbed in irritation, "The sword technique you displayed during the deathmatch—!"
Maintaining his composure, Su Yang tilted his head, his expression becoming even more bewildered.
"That sword technique? Is there an issue with it?"
"Are you still playing the fool? That is my family's secret technique! How is it that you know it?!"
A smile finally touched Su Yang’s lips as he spoke, "Your family? I was under the impression your surname was Fei? Meanwhile, that specific sword technique—"
"Fine! Enough! You were right!" Disciple Fei interrupted, finally realizing why Su Yang was feigning ignorance. "My true surname is Ouyang! Does that satisfy you?!"
Su Yang let out a soft chuckle. "To be honest, I was merely teasing you for a bit of fun. I didn't actually need a confession—I confirmed who you were a long time ago."
Disciple Ouyang stared at him, her face completely blank with shock.
"W-What is your goal? Why would you show me my own family's technique? More importantly, how did you acquire it? Only those of the direct bloodline are permitted to practice that sword technique!"
"There was no deep motive. I simply wanted to provoke you a little," Su Yang replied with a casual shrug.
"Do you really expect me to believe such a thing?!"
"No, and I am indifferent as to whether you believe it or not."
Disciple Ouyang ground her teeth together before questioning him again, "How did you learn it?"
"Before I became a disciple at this Sect, I wandered the Divine Heavens. During my travels, I happened to cross paths with a member of your Ouyang Family. Naturally, that individual was the one who instructed me in the sword technique."
"Absurd! No one in the family would be crazy enough to reveal our secret sword technique to an outsider! Even the Family Head would face execution if they were caught doing such a thing!"
"As I said, I don’t expect your belief." Su Yang shook his head slightly before adding, "Regardless, I have provided enough answers. Why don't you return the favor? It would only be fair."
Before Disciple Ouyang could offer a reply, Su Yang pressed on, "What brought you to the Boundless Yin Yang Sect? And did you come here without informing your family? I mentioned this during our initial meeting, but your family despises those who practice Cultivation through dual methods. They would never permit one of their own to join such a place."
Disciple Ouyang let out a cold sneer. "What does it matter if I came here without their consent? I have no intention of remaining here for long. As a matter of fact, I will be departing shortly."
Su Yang showed no signs of shock at the news of her imminent departure, acting as though he had foreseen it all along.
"In that case, why did you come here to begin with?" he inquired, his curiosity appearing sincere.
"..."
Disciple Ouyang went silent, her eyes casting downward as if burdened by heavy memories. For a brief moment, it looked as though she would keep her silence.
However, after carrying this weight for so many years, she finally chose to unburden herself to someone. "Because a dual cultivator ruined my family."
"He didn't just destroy my household—he wrecked the lives of many by seducing my grandmother just before her wedding day. Because of his actions, my mother and grandmother were forced to endure years of mockery and contempt from everyone."
"Can you imagine the pain of being labeled the daughter of a whore? My mother has been subjected to those insults since the day she was born." Disciple Ouyang clenched her teeth, fueled by the memory of the cruelty her mother suffered.
Su Yang remained quiet while listening to her story. Long before he became the man he was now, he had been a reckless wanderer, seducing women and practicing dual Cultivation without considering the consequences he left in his wake.
Though that period of his life was short-lived, it had left a path of ruin across the Divine Heavens—scars so profound that they likely haven't healed even to this day.
"As for my reasons for joining this Sect… truthfully, I am no longer certain," Disciple Ouyang admitted, her tone dripping with bitterness. "Perhaps I wanted to witness firsthand what had destroyed my family—maybe even attempt to understand it. But so far, I have seen nothing in dual cultivators worth respecting. You are all identical—motivated by lust, with your minds consumed by nothing but base desires."
Su Yang could only offer a smile in response to her blunt words, knowing they weren't far from the truth.
"I truly cannot comprehend what my grandmother saw in that man, especially when he was already notorious for being a heartbreaker and a degenerate playboy."
"Love can be irrational in that way," Su Yang remarked suddenly.
"What? Love? What kind of nonsense is that?" Disciple Ouyang snapped with a frown.
"Why else would she abandon her wedding and her entire future if it wasn't for love? You claimed she was bewitched. While I cannot say what she found appealing about that man, I am certain that she loved him."
Disciple Ouyang simply clicked her tongue at his suggestion.
"Love? Don't make me laugh. Do people like you even grasp the concept of love?"
"Why wouldn't we?" Su Yang answered with composure. "We possess hearts as well… and our feelings are just as intense as anyone else's. However, due to the specific nature of our Cultivation, it is much more difficult for us to experience love initially. In my opinion, that makes it all the more meaningful when it actually happens."
"Hmph. More garbage. Forget it. If you won't reveal the truth of how you learned the sword technique, I have no reason to stay."
With those words, Disciple Ouyang rose to her feet and walked out.
Su Yang stayed in his seat, making no effort to delay her.
Once her presence had completely faded from his senses, Su Yang looked at the empty seat and sighed to himself. 'Oh, Lufei, did you pass away without sharing anything with your child? Ah, it doesn't matter. Even though I couldn't protect your daughter, I will do my best to look after your granddaughter.'
