Dragon Monarch System Chapter 967:- A Moment of Peace
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
Once dinner had concluded,
Aditya was the first to retreat to his private quarters. Spent and weary, he desperately sought a moment of solitude.
Meanwhile, the ladies were occupied with their own affairs.
Even Lilith, his usual shadow, was tied up with matters concerning the Assassination Organisation. She and Sasha departed the Dragon Palace, promising to return within a few hours.
Reclining on the sofa, Aditya summoned the system interface.
Upon reaching the Beginner 5th-order, the system had informed him that he would no longer receive new Classes.
In the past, every breakthrough into a new Order had granted him a fresh Mythical class.
War Dancer was his initial Mythical Class.
His second was the Rune Monarch class.
The third was Storm Marshall.
His fourth breakthrough provided the Void Walker class.
Finally, the fifth and concluding Mythical Class was Gravity Wizard.
Having the Void Walker class allowed him to perceive the gravitational pull within the fabric of space, yet sensing it was a far cry from commanding it.
Aditya had assumed that as he ascended to higher Orders and his comprehension of Space deepened, he might eventually grasp some Minor Gravity Controlling skills. However, he estimated that such a feat would have taken at least a decade of effort.
Mastering even a minor Gravity Skill would have required not just a profound understanding of gravitational mechanics, but a natural affinity for its manipulation. It was a dauntingly complex path.
Yet, through the Gravity Wizard class, the Innate Skill of Gravity Manipulation was now his. He had already utilized this power several times to dismantle the members of that Organization. He had also tested it extensively against the Dwarf Ancestor; during their hours-long struggle, he had experimented with various applications of his new gravity powers.
‘It is actually a relief that I won’t be obtaining more Classes.’ If anyone else heard his thoughts, they would think him insane. In this world, possessing more than one class was unheard of, let alone five Mythical Classes.
While a variety of mythical classes offered a versatile toolkit of skills, there was a significant drawback: having too many prevented him from realizing the full potential of his older classes.
For instance, Aditya realized that his reliance on certain Innate skills had caused him to neglect the War Dancer Class. Its true ceiling remained untouched, and he felt he could achieve far more with it.
Unlike other classes, this one wasn't designed for passive combat. He also believed that even his Rune Monarch class could be transformed from a passive utility into an offensive powerhouse, much like the Storm Marshall or Void Walker classes.
‘When I find some breathing room, I will focus on maximizing the efficiency of every Class.’ His path was now clear.
The only obstacle was finding the time, which was a luxury he lacked.
His "to-do" list was currently overflowing with tasks that could neither be delayed nor delegated. It wasn't a matter of his subordinates lacking competence; rather, as an Emperor, his personal presence was mandatory for these matters.
‘First, I need to study those Notes and elevate my Rune Monarch Class to 5-star rank. Only then can I focus on the others.’ Just as Aditya was about to review his updated status, a knock sounded at the door.
"Julia, you don't need to knock. This bedroom is yours as well."
The First Lady of the Istarin Empire walked into the Dragon Monarch’s room, a smile playing on her lips.
"What are you working on?" She noticed the documents spread before him. They were mostly summaries of events that had transpired during his absence.
He had also organized reports detailing the fluctuations in various sectors over the last two weeks. Spencer had provided a written brief regarding significant shifts—changes that weren't yet crises but were certainly noteworthy.
The agricultural sector remained stable; food security was high and prices were low, leaving no cause for alarm. Thanks to the Blessing of the Goddess of Nature, the soil was incredibly fertile. Consequently, the Istarin Empire had become a premier food exporter across the Six Continents. It was a stark contrast to just eighteen months ago, when the empire relied on neighbors for sustenance.
Conversely, the Transport and Supply sector was experiencing a quiet decline. The movement of goods had slowed due to poor coordination and mismanagement of routes. While some areas faced delays, others suffered from congestion.
Though the damage was currently minimal, it had sparked slight unrest and imbalances in the outer regions.
"It’s nothing, just catching up on some reports." Aditya swept the papers into his storage ring.
Julia took a seat beside him.
Only a few inches of space remained between them.
As she settled in, he grasped her right hand. Her palm felt cool against his own heat.
The warmth radiating from him brought her a sense of comfort.
"You’ve reached the Beginner 5th-order." Julia was beaming with pride at her husband's progress. She was certain he was the fastest individual to ever reach the Fifth Order. Furthermore, his increased strength allowed her to worry about his safety a bit less.
"The trial pushed me too far. In the end, a breakthrough was my only option." Aditya had no regrets; the timing had been ideal.
"Enough about my progress! How have you been?" He pulled her close, wrapping his arm around her shoulder so she could lean against his chest.
"The usual routine."
"Aside from the hours spent in the lab on my alchemy, I’ve been overseeing the general affairs." As First Lady, Julia felt it was her duty to ensure no one was overlooked and everything ran smoothly.
She had even attended a Royal Academy sports event in his stead. Aditya felt a twinge of regret for missing it.
"Did Clara take home any prizes?" Aditya asked with genuine interest.
"It turns out Clara has a gift for painting. She took first place in the art competition. She decided to skip the physical events, however."
"I didn't expect that! I'm very proud of her, though."
"Indeed! It looks like our sister has the makings of a very talented Mage."
"I'll find a master mage to tutor her then." Julia, however, shook her head in disagreement.
"She is currently learning at her own pace, slow and steady."
"There is no reason to rush her. Her brothers, Leo and Aditya, are already so far ahead with their natural gifts. Even if Clara is talented, forcing her to match her brothers would only create a heavy burden."
"I don't want her to feel the pressure of comparison or the fear of falling behind. She should enjoy her youth and grow at a speed that makes her happy." Aditya nodded, seeing the wisdom in her words.
What was the point of his immense power if he couldn't provide his sister with a peaceful youth?
Given the hardships she faced before Aditya found her, they both agreed she deserved nothing but joy.
"Has she shown interest in any boys?" Aditya asked, his protective brotherly instincts flaring.
Julia let out a soft laugh.
"There are plenty of noble boys pursuing her. Some are sincere, while others are clearly looking for political leverage."
"Perhaps I should issue a decree?" He started, but she pressed her hand against his lips.
"Hush...!"
"That won't be necessary. Clara is quite wise for her age."
"She sees through their intentions. That is likely why she doesn't have any male friends." Hearing this, the Monarch felt a wave of relief.
As she continued to recount the small stories of his absence, his hands began to wander over her. He leaned in, trailing kisses along the line of her throat.
"Clara is smart. We should let her gro—ahhh...!!" Julia’s voice broke into a soft moan as he squeezed her breast, his lips moving to her collarbone.
She reached up, her hand gripping his neck to pull him closer.
"Aditya, stop...!!" To Julia, these two weeks had felt like an eternity. She had hoped for a long conversation, as their private moments were so rare.
He ignored her protest.
His hands moved expertly, teasing her most sensitive areas to stoke her desire.
Soon, Julia was pinned beneath him on the couch.
"We have all night to talk. Right now, let me show you how much I've missed you." He silenced her with a deep kiss. After a few moments, his tongue sought hers.
She looped her arms around his neck, pulling him into an even tighter embrace.
As his hands continued their play, their tongues danced in a battle for dominance.
"Babe, the night has just started." With a smirk, Aditya began to discard his clothes.
