"What?" Ren immediately stood up from his chair.

For a few seconds, he simply stared at the soldier in complete disbelief. He had been prepared to hear bad news, but never in his wildest imagination had he expected to hear something like this.

"What nonsense are you saying? Do you even understand what you are telling me?" Ren shouted while slamming both hands against the table.

"Your Majesty, I swear that everything I am saying is true. I witnessed the incident with my own eyes. We were carrying out our usual duties and guarding the Imperial Royal Palace when everything suddenly happened." The soldier replied hurriedly.

Ren continued staring at him with an extremely ugly expression.

"Explain." Ren ordered coldly.

The soldier swallowed nervously before continuing.

"Your Majesty, everything happened very suddenly. There was an enormous explosion inside the Imperial Royal Palace. I don’t know what caused the explosion or what kind of artifact or ability was used, but the explosion was extremely powerful. Almost half of the Imperial Royal Palace was destroyed. During the confusion caused by the explosion, Aditya managed to use teleportation to escape from the palace along with the former Emperor Alen and former Empress Elena." The soldier explained.

Hearing this, Ren felt as if his entire world had suddenly turned upside down. For a moment, he could not even find the words to express his anger. He had kept Alen and Elena under his control for a very important reason. They were not simply prisoners. They were his most valuable hostages against Aditya.

He also explained the confusion that followed the explosion, the desperate attempts of the surviving guards to understand what was happening, and how Aditya had managed to escape with Alen and Elena before anyone could properly stop him.

As the soldier continued speaking, Ren’s expression became uglier and uglier. By the time the soldier finished explaining everything, Ren looked as if he was about to explode from anger.
