Aditya unleashed devastating attacks, decimating the Emperor Faction's army and solidifying his image as a ruthless ruler. As the enemy sounded a retreat, Aditya saw an opportunity to inflict even greater casualties, turning their withdrawal into a chaotic rout.

Aditya continued watching the retreating soldiers from high above the battlefield. The sound of the Emperor Faction’s retreat trumpets could still be heard in the distance, while thousands of soldiers were desperately trying to withdraw from the front lines. Some groups were managing to retreat in an organised manner, but many others were still struggling to escape from the Anti-Emperor Faction’s soldiers.

After observing the situation for a few seconds, Aditya suddenly turned toward Athena, who was floating beside him.

"You wait here. I’ll be back." Aditya said calmly.

Athena looked at him with a slightly curious expression. She could tell from his tone that he was planning to do something, but before she could ask him about it, Aditya had already turned his attention toward the battlefield below.

Taking a deep breath, Aditya began using his mana to amplify his voice. In the next moment, his powerful voice spread across the entire Northern Grassy Plains, reaching almost every corner of the battlefield.

Aditya ordered in a loud and commanding voice.

His sudden order immediately caused confusion among the Anti-Emperor Faction’s soldiers. Many of them had been preparing to chase after the retreating enemies, while others were still engaged in fierce battles at the front. However, upon hearing the direct order from their supreme commander, they immediately began stopping their attacks and withdrawing from their positions.

Although they were confused, none of them dared to ignore Aditya’s orders. The soldiers who were fighting at close range quickly created some distance between themselves and their enemies, while their commanders began ordering their divisions to fall back. Within a short period, large groups of Anti-Emperor Faction soldiers started moving away from the front lines.

However, almost everyone was wondering the same thing. Why was Aditya ordering them to stop attacking when the Emperor Faction was already retreating?

This was the perfect opportunity to increase the enemy’s casualties even further. If they continued attacking, they could kill thousands of additional soldiers before the Emperor Faction managed to escape.

The Emperor Faction’s soldiers were equally surprised by Aditya’s sudden order. However, unlike their enemies, many of them immediately became happy after hearing his words.

For the soldiers who had been desperately trying to escape, Aditya’s order was like a blessing. They had already lost their desire to continue fighting, and now the supreme commander of the opposing faction was personally ordering his soldiers to stop attacking them.

This meant that they could finally retreat without constantly worrying about being attacked from behind.

Some soldiers even started smiling in relief, while others immediately began helping their injured companions withdraw from the battlefield. The fear and tension that had been filling their hearts slowly began disappearing.

However, what none of them knew was that Aditya had not ordered his soldiers to retreat because he wanted to show mercy. He had ordered them to retreat because he was preparing to launch an attack that would affect an enormous area.

Once Aditya saw that his soldiers had begun moving away from the Emperor Faction’s troops, he decided that it was time to act. Without wasting another second, Aditya activated one of his passive skills.

『Acid Rain』

The moment the skill was activated, a strange change began taking place in the rain falling over the Emperor Faction’s soldiers.

Until now, the rain had been completely normal. However, the raindrops falling over the Emperor Faction’s troops suddenly began turning green. At first, the change was almost impossible to notice because of the heavy rain and the confusion on the battlefield.

But within a few seconds, thousands upon thousands of green raindrops began falling from the dark clouds above.

What made the situation even stranger was that the green rain was only falling over the Emperor Faction’s soldiers.

The areas where the Anti-Emperor Faction’s soldiers were standing remained completely unaffected. Ordinary rain continued falling over them, while the green raindrops were concentrated entirely on the enemy’s positions.

For the first few seconds, nobody understood what was happening.

Some Emperor Faction soldiers looked up at the sky with confused expressions, wondering why the rain had suddenly changed color. Others simply ignored it and continued retreating, believing that it was some kind of strange weather phenomenon caused by the powerful cultivators fighting on the battlefield.

However, around ten to twenty seconds later, the situation suddenly changed.

A loud scream suddenly came from one of the retreating soldiers. The man had been running toward his camp when several green raindrops landed on his exposed neck and face. Almost immediately, his skin began melting, causing him to scream in terrible pain.

Before the soldiers around him could understand what was happening, more screams began coming from every direction.

One soldier screamed in terror as he watched the flesh on his arm begin dissolving after several green raindrops landed on it.

Another soldier desperately tried to remove his helmet after feeling an intense burning sensation on his head. However, by the time he managed to pull it off, the acid had already eaten through part of the metal and reached his skin.

The soldier fell to his knees while screaming in pain as the green rain continued falling on him.

The Acid Rain was powerful enough to affect anyone below the Sixth Order. Ordinary armor provided almost no protection against it. The green raindrops slowly ate through metal, leather, and other materials before reaching the flesh underneath.

And once the acid came into contact with a soldier’s body, it began burning through their skin and muscles. Those who received large amounts of acid on their heads and faces suffered especially terrible injuries, as the acid quickly ate through their flesh and reached their bones.

Within a very short period, the battlefield was filled with the screams of the Emperor Faction’s soldiers.

The joyful and relieved expressions that had appeared on their faces only moments earlier had completely disappeared. Instead, their faces were now filled with terror as they realized that the green rain falling from the sky was killing them.

Some soldiers desperately tried to cover their heads with their shields, while others removed pieces of their armor after noticing that the acid was eating through the metal. However, these actions provided very little protection because the rain was falling continuously.

Within a short period, several hundred soldiers had already died from the Acid Rain, and the number was increasing rapidly.

Those who had not yet been affected began panicking after witnessing what was happening to their companions. Some tried to run faster, hoping to escape the area covered by the green rain, while others desperately searched for anything that could protect them.

Fortunately for the Emperor Faction, some of their stronger cultivators quickly realized that ordinary physical protection would not be enough.

One of the commanders shouted after successfully creating a mana barrier above his head.

Hearing his warning, the nearby cultivators immediately began using their mana to create protective barriers around themselves. Some formed large shields above their heads, while others surrounded their entire bodies with thin layers of mana.

As long as the Acid Rain could not come into direct contact with their bodies, they would remain safe from its effects.

Very quickly, more and more soldiers began following their example. Those who had enough mana created their own shields, while weaker soldiers desperately gathered beneath the larger barriers created by their commanders and stronger companions.

Although this method successfully prevented the green raindrops from directly touching them, the Emperor Faction’s soldiers were still in an extremely dangerous position.

They were being forced to constantly consume mana just to protect themselves from the rain. Furthermore, many of them were already exhausted from fighting, and their mana reserves were far from full.

If the Acid Rain continued for too long, some soldiers would eventually run out of mana, leaving them completely exposed to the deadly rain once again.

Meanwhile, Aditya was calmly observing everything from above. He had already expected the enemy soldiers to use mana shields to protect themselves. After all, the Emperor Faction had brought hundreds of thousands of trained soldiers and cultivators to the battlefield. It would have been strange if none of them had been capable of finding a way to defend themselves against his Acid Rain.

However, Aditya was not bothered by this development. In fact, everything was going exactly as he had expected. While the Emperor Faction’s soldiers were desperately concentrating on maintaining their mana shields, Aditya slowly raised his right hand and took out a katana from his storage.

This was the same katana that he had obtained during the Steel Dwarf trial that he had gone through earlier. Although he had received the weapon some time ago, he had not used it even once since completing the trial.

The katana had remained inside his storage all this time. However, Aditya had finally decided to use it. He slowly looked at the weapon in his hand before beginning to pour his mana into it. Almost immediately, the katana started responding to the enormous amount of energy entering its blade.

Aditya continued infusing more and more mana into the weapon until he had poured almost 100,000+ mana into it.

As the enormous amount of mana entered the katana, the weapon began releasing a powerful aura. The energy gathered inside the blade was so great that even the air surrounding it started trembling slightly.

However, Aditya did not immediately launch an attack. Instead, he looked down toward the Emperor Faction’s retreating soldiers, who were still desperately maintaining their mana shields to protect themselves from the Acid Rain.

A cold smile slowly appeared on his face. In the next instant, the space surrounding Aditya suddenly distorted, and his figure disappeared from the sky.

A fraction of a second later, Aditya reappeared directly among the retreating soldiers of the Emperor Faction, holding the mana-infused katana in his hand.
