The Goddess of War, Freya, charges into the fray, single-handedly decimating the Emperor Faction's front lines. Her dual katanas move with impossible speed and precision, cutting down hundreds of soldiers and spells alike. Freya advances deeper into enemy territory, leaving a trail of destruction in her wake.

Meanwhile, Joseph Stan, one of the main commanders of the Emperor Faction’s army, was watching Freya cut through his soldiers as if they were nothing more than vegetables. Wherever she passed, broken weapons, shattered armor, and the severed body parts of fallen soldiers were scattered across the ground, while blood splattered in every direction as her two katanas continued cutting down anyone unfortunate enough to stand in her path.

What worried Joseph the most was not simply the number of soldiers Freya had killed, but the speed at which she was advancing through their formations. Every time she moved forward, she left behind a clear path through the densely packed enemy ranks, almost as if someone had drawn a straight line through the middle of their army.

The soldiers who attempted to close that opening were immediately cut down, while those who witnessed her approaching were beginning to hesitate, knowing that even their strongest defensive spells and armor offered little protection against her katanas.

Joseph understood that something needed to be done about this situation before it became even worse. Although the battle had only recently begun, Freya had already managed to break through several defensive formations, and the number of soldiers she had personally killed was increasing at a frightening rate.

If she continued advancing at this pace, she could cause enormous damage to the Emperor Faction’s army before the first major confrontation was even over.

As one of the commanders responsible for leading the Emperor Faction’s forces, Joseph could not simply stand there and allow the Goddess of War to slaughter his soldiers without doing anything.

If Freya continued cutting through their formations and destroying their defensive lines, the Emperor Faction might suffer such heavy losses during this opening battle that recovering from them would become extremely difficult, potentially putting them at a serious disadvantage for the remainder of the civil war.

Of course, Joseph himself was not standing around doing nothing. He was also participating in the battle, personally cutting down soldiers from the Anti-Emperor Faction while keeping an eye on the overall situation. As an experienced and powerful cultivator, he had already killed a considerable number of enemies, and very few ordinary soldiers were capable of standing against him.

However, when he compared his own performance to Freya’s, even Joseph had to admit that the difference was enormous.

While he needed to spend at least some effort dealing with the enemies surrounding him, Freya was moving through his soldiers without slowing down, cutting down several opponents almost every second. Her attacks were so fast that most soldiers could not even react before their weapons and armor were destroyed.

What made the situation even more frustrating was that Freya had not suffered a single visible injury despite charging directly into the most heavily defended sections of his army. Hundreds of soldiers had already attempted to stop her, yet none had managed to land a successful attack, and every failed attempt only added more bodies to the growing trail of destruction behind her.

Joseph knew that sending more ordinary soldiers after her would accomplish very little. Even if he ordered thousands of soldiers to surround her, there was a good chance that they would only end up becoming additional casualties. What he needed was someone powerful enough to confront Freya directly and prevent her from continuing her advance.

With that thought in mind, Joseph began looking around the battlefield, searching for someone who might be capable of dealing with the Goddess of War.

After a few moments, his gaze finally landed on a handsome young man with long black hair who was fighting some distance away.

Unlike most of the cultivators participating in the battle, the young man was not holding a sword, spear, or any other weapon. Instead, both of his hands had transformed into enormous black dragon claws, with long, sharp talons that looked capable of tearing through even the strongest armor.

His name was Kaito, a powerful Black Dragon who was currently fighting on the Emperor Faction’s side.

At that moment, Kaito was surrounded by several soldiers from the Anti-Emperor Faction, but rather than showing the slightest concern, he appeared to be thoroughly enjoying himself. There was a wild, almost crazed smile on his handsome face as he charged toward his enemies without paying much attention to their attacks.

Whenever a soldier attempted to block him with a shield, Kaito simply swung one of his enormous dragon claws and tore through it with overwhelming physical strength. Even swords and spears reinforced with mana were unable to withstand his claws, and the soldiers holding those weapons were often killed before they could understand what had happened.

One soldier attempted to stab Kaito in the chest with his sword, only for the Black Dragon to grab the blade with his bare claws and crush it. Before the soldier could retreat, Kaito reached forward with his other hand and tore through his armor, killing him almost instantly.

Another group of soldiers tried attacking him from different directions, hoping that their combined attacks would force him to defend himself. However, Kaito did not bother retreating or carefully avoiding every strike. Instead, he charged straight toward them, using his dragon claws to rip apart their weapons and defensive barriers before tearing through their bodies.

His fighting style was extremely reckless, almost as if he had completely forgotten that he was participating in a dangerous war. He rarely bothered with defensive movements and seemed more interested in killing as many enemies as possible, relying on his powerful body and extraordinary physical strength to withstand whatever attacks managed to reach him.

Unlike Freya, whose movements were fast, precise, and controlled despite her aggressive fighting style, Kaito fought with almost no restraint. He attacked his enemies head-on, using his dragon claws to tear through anything standing in front of him, and the more soldiers who surrounded him, the wider the smile on his face became.

It was clear from his expression that he was enjoying the battle far more than anyone should. For someone like Kaito, who possessed the powerful body and natural abilities of a Black Dragon, being surrounded by enemies that he could freely attack without holding back was almost like a dream come true.

Joseph watched him for a few seconds and quickly made up his mind. Although Kaito’s reckless fighting style was far from ideal for an ordinary military commander, his overwhelming strength and aggressive nature might be exactly what was needed to stop Freya’s advance.

After cutting down another soldier who attempted to attack him, Joseph turned toward the Black Dragon and called out in a loud voice.

"KAITO!!!!!"

Hearing someone calling his name, Kaito stopped fighting for a moment and turned his head in the direction of the voice. When he noticed Joseph standing a short distance away, he immediately flew toward him, leaving behind the soldiers he had been fighting.

Within a few seconds, Kaito landed directly in front of Joseph. His enormous black dragon claws were still covered in blood. There was a satisfied smile on his face, making it clear that he had been thoroughly enjoying himself on the battlefield.

"What is it, Joseph?" Kaito asked casually, showing no particular respect toward the man standing before him.

Of course, Joseph did not take offense at his attitude. After all, both of them were Sixth Order cultivators and held the same military rank within the Celestial Dragon Empire. Neither possessed any direct authority over the other, and both had been entrusted with important responsibilities in the ongoing battle.

However, their backgrounds were completely different. Joseph had come from an ordinary background and had gradually risen through the military ranks through his own strength, experience, and achievements. He had spent many years serving the Celestial Dragon Empire, eventually earning his current position as one of its high-ranking military commanders.

Kaito, on the other hand, was a descendant of one of the most famous Black Dragon Clans in the Celestial Dragon Empire. His father was a powerful Duke who controlled an enormous territory and possessed considerable influence within the Empire. Like many other powerful nobles, Kaito’s father had chosen to support Emperor Ren in the ongoing civil war.

As the son of such an influential Duke, Kaito had enjoyed privileges and resources that ordinary cultivators could only dream of. However, his position within the military was not entirely the result of his family’s influence. He was also an extremely talented cultivator who had managed to reach the Sixth Order at a relatively young age.

Furthermore, as a Black Dragon, Kaito possessed extraordinary physical strength and defensive abilities that made him particularly dangerous in close combat. Joseph was well aware of these advantages, which was precisely why he had decided to approach Kaito instead of sending more ordinary soldiers to deal with Freya.

"Kaito, I need you to deal with the Goddess of War." Joseph said, pointing toward a particular section of the battlefield.

Hearing this, Kaito raised his eyebrows slightly before following the direction of Joseph’s gaze. Several kilometers away, Freya was still cutting through the Emperor Faction’s soldiers at an astonishing speed. Her two katanas moved continuously as she advanced through the enemy formations, cutting apart weapons, armor, and defensive barriers without showing the slightest sign of slowing down.

Even from such a distance, Kaito could clearly see the destruction she was causing. Wherever Freya passed, soldiers fell one after another, leaving behind a trail of blood and bodies. Despite being surrounded by enemies, she continued advancing as if none of them posed any real threat to her.

For a few seconds, Kaito silently observed her movements. Then, a wide and excited smile slowly appeared on his face.

"The Goddess of War, huh?" Kaito muttered, his eyes shining with excitement.

"I have wanted to fight her for a very long time." As a Black Dragon who enjoyed fighting powerful opponents, Kaito had naturally heard many stories about Freya. Her reputation as the Goddess of War was known throughout the Main Continent.

However, despite knowing about her for a long time, Kaito had never been given an opportunity to fight her personally. And now, with the civil war taking place, that opportunity had finally presented itself.

The more Kaito watched Freya cutting through the soldiers of the Emperor Faction, the more excited he became. Rather than feeling worried about her overwhelming strength, he was eager to experience it for himself.

Joseph noticed the excited expression on Kaito’s face and immediately understood what he was thinking. Although Kaito’s love for fighting sometimes made him difficult to control, Joseph was relieved that he would not have to waste time convincing him to confront Freya.

Just then, while Freya was busy cutting down another group of enemy soldiers, she suddenly sensed something. Her movements did not slow down, but her eyes briefly shifted toward the direction where Joseph and Kaito were standing.

Even though several kilometers separated them, Freya immediately noticed the handsome young man with long black hair staring directly at her. At almost the same moment, Kaito realized that Freya was looking in his direction. Their gazes met across the enormous battlefield. For a brief moment, neither of them looked away.

Kaito’s smile widened even further when he realized that Freya had noticed him. The excitement in his eyes became even more obvious, and he could barely contain his eagerness to fight her.

Without wasting another second, Kaito bent his knees slightly before launching himself into the air.

The ground beneath his feet cracked from the force of his sudden movement as he shot toward Freya at an astonishing speed. His long black hair fluttered wildly behind him as he flew across the battlefield while completely ignoring the thousands of soldiers fighting below.

Meanwhile, Freya had already understood that the Black Dragon was coming directly toward her.

After cutting down the last enemy standing immediately in front of her, she raised her head and looked toward the rapidly approaching figure. A moment later, Freya pushed off the ground and launched herself into the sky, still holding her two katanas firmly in her hands. With Kaito flying toward her at full speed and Freya charging straight toward him, the two powerful Sixth Order cultivators rapidly closed the distance between them.
