Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1221:- Elara’s Fate
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
Aditya stood before her and slightly twisted his neck. A cold smile appeared on his face. "You followed your orders. Now I’m going to follow my emotions." Aditya stared directly into her terrified eyes.
Elara could not answer. She was still desperately struggling for air. Every attempted breath produced nothing more than a weak, broken rasp from her ruined throat. She could neither scream nor properly speak. All she could do was remain trapped in the chair and watch Aditya with growing horror.
Aditya calmly reached forward and took one of her hands. For a moment, both of them stared at it.
There was almost a trace of amusement in Aditya’s crimson eyes, while Elara’s expression contained nothing except panic. She already understood what he intended to do, yet her damaged body was incapable of stopping him.
Aditya tightened his grip, and then he twisted.
The unnatural movement broke the bones around her hand and wrist. Elara’s entire body violently jerked against the chair as another muffled, broken sound escaped her damaged throat, but Aditya remained completely unmoved.
He then took out his dagger.
Aditya placed the blade against one of her fingers and began cutting them off into small, thin pieces with the same detached calmness someone might display while chopping vegetables. Elara violently thrashed against the chains, unable to scream despite the pain, while Aditya continued without showing the slightest hesitation.
There was no interrogation in this. There were no questions he wanted answered. This was no longer about obtaining information from her. She had followed Ren’s orders and helped keep his parents imprisoned in this miserable underground room. And now Aditya was making her pay the price for her sins.
Poor Elara could neither scream nor properly resist anymore. With her throat crushed, her body heavily injured, and one of her hands mutilated, the only thing she could do was remain trapped in the chair and endure the hell Aditya was putting her through. Every attempt to breathe sent another wave of agony through her damaged throat, while the pain coming from the rest of her body made it increasingly difficult for her to remain conscious.
Aditya was about to continue when his movements suddenly stopped. His crimson eyes narrowed slightly as a thought occurred to him.
Elara was already a Peak Sixth Order cultivator. Aditya slowly looked at her from head to toe as his anger momentarily gave way to calculation. He knew exactly what happened when powerful and talented individuals were transformed into Dragonians using his Divine Dragon Blood. Their bodies evolved, their potential increased, and their cultivation could experience tremendous growth during the transformation.
If he transformed Elara into a Dragonian right now, there was a very high possibility that the transformation itself would push her beyond the final boundary of Sixth Order.
She could potentially become a Beginner Seventh Order cultivator. That possibility completely changed the whole situation.
Aditya had entered the Imperial Royal Palace knowing that escaping would be significantly harder than entering. Once he rescued his parents and the palace realised what had happened, the entire place would descend into chaos. He would have to protect Alen and Elena, reunite with Rin, deal with the remaining palace forces, and somehow escape through defences specifically designed to prevent intruders from leaving.
Having a Beginner Seventh Order cultivator fighting beside him could dramatically increase their chances of success. And the usefulness of such a subordinate would not end once they escaped the Imperial Royal Palace.
A Seventh Order Dragonian would immediately become one of the strongest individuals serving under Aditya. In the short term, she could help him escape. In the long term, she could become another immensely powerful asset for the Istarin Empire.
Yet Aditya immediately felt uncomfortable with the idea. He hated this idea.
Until now, Aditya had never captured an enemy and forcibly turned that person into his subordinate. The Dragonians serving him were people who had willingly stood beside him and earned his trust. Turning someone who had been trying to kill him only moments ago into one of his Dragonians felt completely different.
’But the advantages I would gain, both in the short term and the long term, are worth seriously considering.’ Aditya thought to himself.
His gaze remained fixed on Elara while different possibilities rapidly passed through his mind. This was not merely about gaining another powerful subordinate. His parents were standing only a few meters away in a mind-controlled state. They were completely incapable of protecting themselves.
Rin was waiting for him outside, and they were still trapped in the heart of the Imperial Royal Palace. If transforming one enemy could significantly increase the chances of getting everyone out safely, then rejecting the idea purely because he disliked it might be foolish.
Elara, meanwhile, looked at Aditya in confusion. Only moments earlier, he had been torturing her without showing the slightest hesitation. Yet now he had suddenly stopped and was staring at her as though he was considering something extremely important. She had no idea what was going through his mind, nor did she particularly care anymore.
The pain had already overwhelmed almost everything else. Her damaged body trembled against the chair while she continued desperately struggling for every tiny breath she could draw. At this point, Elara no longer cared about her orders, the Imperial Royal Palace, or even what Aditya intended to do next.
She only wanted the pain to stop. For the first time, death itself felt merciful to her. At this moment, she desperately wished for Aditya to end it all.
Aditya felt deeply conflicted at that moment. Part of him hated the idea of allowing Elara to live after what she had participated in, while another part of him understood just how useful she could become. He remained silent for nearly twenty seconds, considering the advantages and consequences before finally making his decision.
He had made something like this on a whim. He didn’t really expect it to come in handy at a time like this.
Elara was in so much pain that she barely noticed him fastening it around her neck. Only afterwards did she lower her gaze toward the edges of the collar before looking back at Aditya in confusion. She couldn’t understand why he would put a slave collar on someone who was already on the verge of death.
This was a soul-binding slave collar. However, Elara was a Peak Sixth Order cultivator. With her cultivation and the strength of her soul, Aditya could not simply force the contract upon her.
The slave contract required her consent before it could establish a connection between their souls. Even if Aditya forcibly took her blood and placed a drop onto the collar, the runes would refuse to activate unless Elara willingly accepted the contract.
Aditya stepped back and looked directly into her eyes. "I will let you live if you agree to become my slave."
Hearing this, Elara hesitated. She had already accepted death, and with her crushed throat and mangled body, dying almost seemed preferable to continuing through this pain. Not to mention, she wasn’t so keen on becoming someone’s slave.
Seeing her hesitation, Aditya coldly smiled. "If you refuse, I won’t let you die quickly. I’ll continue torturing you until you suffocate. Considering your vitality as a Peak 6th-order cultivator, you probably still have eight or nine minutes left." Elara’s eyes widened in horror. This time, there was no hesitation on her part.
She rapidly moved her head up and down. Seeing this, Aditya smirked in satisfaction.
Having received her consent, Aditya collected a single drop of her blood and placed it on the collar.
A faint golden light spread across the collar. The complicated runes illuminated one after another until a mysterious golden glow surrounded the entire collar. A moment later, the light disappeared as though it had never existed. At the same time, Elara felt something connect her soul directly to Aditya.
The contract had been established. From this moment onward, Aditya was recognised as her master. Directly defying his commands would trigger the slave contract and cause unbearable pain within her soul, as though the soul itself were being torn apart.
Only a few minutes ago, Elara had been willing to die while following Ren’s orders. Now, she belonged to Ren’s greatest enemy.
Meanwhile, Aditya was slightly happy inside. The reason he turned her into his slave is that, normally, this woman would not agree to serve him. And not to mention, even if she did agree in exchange for her life, Aditya would always have doubts about her.
Another reason behind this was because of the part of what she participated in. She will be his slave for years until Aditya felt that she had earned enough merit to be freed from her status as a slave.
