Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1220:- Protocol or Blood [II]

The door violently flew open. The moment Aditya’s gaze entered the room, his entire body froze. There was almost nothing inside. There was no bed, no proper furniture, and no windows. Nothing that could make this cold underground room even remotely suitable for someone to live in.
There were only two wooden chairs. And sitting on those chairs were his parents.
Alen and Elena.
Seeing this, Aditya’s crimson eyes widened.
Both of them had been completely restrained using special chains. Their wrists and ankles were tightly bound to the chairs, while several additional layers of thick chains had been wrapped around their torsos and limbs. Nearly their entire bodies were covered by restraints, leaving only their faces exposed.
But it was not the chains that made Aditya freeze. It was their expressions.
There was nothing on their faces. Their eyes were open, yet their faces were completely blank and emotionless. There was no surprise upon seeing their son suddenly appear before them. There was no happiness, confusion, fear, anger, or even the slightest visible reaction.
For one horrifying moment, Aditya felt as though he was staring at the corpses of his parents rather than two living people. They were breathing. Their hearts were still beating. Yet there was no life in their expressions.
Seeing Alen and Elena in this state immediately confirmed the suspicion that had been haunting Aditya ever since he learned more about what had happened all those years ago.
Until this moment, it had technically remained a hypothesis. A conclusion built from countless pieces of evidence, contradictions in his parents’ behaviour, information he had gathered, and everything that had happened after Ren became Emperor. Aditya had been almost ninety-five per cent certain that his parents were being controlled by Ren and the Mysterious Organisation.
But there had always remained that final five per cent. That tiny possibility that he was wrong. Now, even that uncertainty disappeared. Aditya no longer needed additional evidence. His parents were under mind control. And everything he had suspected about Ren and the Mysterious Organisation was true.
Seeing his parents reduced to such a state caused Aditya’s anger to reach an entirely different level. The chains wrapped around their bodies, their empty expressions, and those lifeless eyes remained burned into his mind. For the first time, he was looking at undeniable proof of what had been done to Alen and Elena.
However, the woman behind him had no intention of giving him time to process any of it.
Elara took advantage of the moment when Aditya’s attention was focused entirely on his parents; she crossed the distance between them at her maximum speed. Her sword flashed toward the back of Aditya’s neck, carrying enough force to sever his head.
The tip of her sword was about to touch his skin when something completely unexpected happened. Aditya’s entire body transformed into crimson lightning.
His physical shape remained visible for the briefest instant, maintaining the outline of his human body, but flesh, blood, and bones seemingly disappeared as his entire existence transformed into condensed Crimson Lightning. Then his lightning-form suddenly scattered.
Seven bolts of Crimson Lightning shot outward in seven different directions. Elara’s sword passed through empty space.
Her eyes widened as she immediately attempted to track the seven crimson bolts, but they were simply too fast. Even with the incredible agility that she had spent her entire cultivation journey developing, her eyes could not properly follow them.
The seven bolts moved around her at terrifying speeds, constantly changing directions and surrounding her from every side. For the next second or two, Elara could see nothing except flashes of Crimson Lightning appearing and disappearing around her.
Then all seven bolts suddenly changed direction. They converged at a single point near the ceiling, far above Elara’s head and descended.
The combined bolt of Crimson Lightning struck Elara directly from behind. For an instant, it almost looked as though a bolt of Heavenly Thunder from a Heavenly Tribulation had descended upon her. Elara was violently launched forward.
Her body crashed face-first into the stone wall with tremendous force. Multiple enormous cracks instantly spread across the wall from the point of impact, while fragments of stone scattered across the dungeon floor.
Elara collapsed onto the ground. Her nose had been completely broken by the impact. Her jaw had been badly disfigured, and blood rapidly poured down her face and dripped onto the cold stone beneath her. Her armor had absorbed part of the lightning attack, but even that had not been enough to protect her from the tremendous force that had thrown her into the wall.
Before Elara could properly recover, Crimson Lightning gathered behind her and rapidly reconstructed Aditya’s human form. Aditya immediately stepped forward and planted his foot directly against her throat.
Elara’s damaged eyes widened in horror. Aditya gave her no moment to process anything. Aditya looked down at her with an expression colder than anything she had seen from him before.
"For you, this is following orders. For me, this is saving my parents." Aditya slowly increased the pressure beneath his foot.
"Which one do you think carries more weight?" Elara immediately grabbed his leg with both hands and desperately attempted to push it away. But his leg did not move. Instead, Aditya pressed down harder.
Elara’s eyes widened in pure horror as something inside her throat gave way.
Her damaged body instinctively thrashed beneath him as Aditya continued increasing the force. The cartilage protecting her airway began collapsing under the pressure, and several structures inside her throat were severely damaged.
Just before Aditya could completely crush her throat beneath his foot, Elara desperately gathered her remaining strength and managed to throw herself sideways. She managed to escape from having her throat completely flattened by him.
She immediately forced herself back onto her feet. But the moment she did, she froze as she realised that she couldn’t breathe.
Elara instinctively attempted to inhale, but only a faint, strained sound escaped her damaged throat. The crushing pressure had severely injured her airway, and the surrounding tissues were already beginning to swell. Blood had entered her mouth and throat as well, making every desperate attempt to draw air even more difficult.
Her hands immediately flew toward her neck while she looked terrified.
She tried breathing again. But Nothing happened. Her chest desperately expanded as her body instinctively demanded oxygen, but she could draw only the smallest amount of air through her damaged airway. She attempted to speak, yet instead of words, only a broken, wet rasp escaped her mouth.
For the first time since their battle began, genuine panic appeared in Elara’s eyes.
She staggered backwards while clutching her throat. Her body knew exactly what was happening even if her mind refused to accept it. Without enough oxygen reaching her lungs, weakness would rapidly follow. Her movements would slow, her vision would begin to blur, and eventually she would lose consciousness and then die.
Unless she somehow healed the damage immediately, she was already standing at death’s door. Aditya coldly watched her struggle for every breath. He had absolutely no intention of helping her.
An ordinary human would have already died from this level of damage, but Elara was a Peak Sixth Order cultivator. Her vitality was far beyond anything an ordinary person could possess, which explained why she was still conscious and somehow standing despite the condition of her throat. However, even a Sixth Order cultivator needed oxygen. Her powerful body could keep her alive much longer than an ordinary human, but it could not do so forever.
She could survive a minimum of five minutes. But not more than ten minutes? Aditya did not know exactly how long she could survive in her current condition, nor did he particularly care.
With her throat crushed and her body already heavily injured from his previous attack, the enormous advantage provided by her agility had practically disappeared. She was no longer a Peak Sixth Order cultivator whom Aditya needed to approach cautiously. In her current state, she was little more than a lamb waiting to be slaughtered.
Aditya walked toward her and grabbed a fistful of her hair. Elara tried to resist, but Aditya effortlessly dragged her across the cold stone floor and brought her into the room where his parents were being held.
Her hands occasionally reached toward his wrist in an attempt to make him release her, but there was hardly any strength behind them. Once inside, Aditya finally turned his attention toward Alen and Elena.
His expression immediately softened. He approached his parents and began removing the thick chains wrapped around their bodies. Instead of carefully unlocking every restraint, Aditya simply relied on his overwhelming physical strength and forcibly broke them apart. One after another, the chains snapped until Alen and Elena were finally free.
Yet neither of them reacted. Aditya gently helped his father stand and guided him a few steps away from the chair. Alen obediently moved wherever his son directed him, almost like a doll responding only when someone physically nudged it. Elena was no different. Their empty expressions remained unchanged, making Aditya’s anger burn even hotter.
He then grabbed one of the chains he had removed and wrapped it around Elara’s neck. Ignoring her weakened resistance, Aditya dragged her toward the chair where his father had been sitting moments earlier and forced her down onto it. He secured the chain tightly enough that escaping in her current condition was practically impossible.
Aditya stood before her and slightly twisted his neck. A cold smile appeared on his face. "You followed your orders. Now I’m going to follow my emotions." Aditya stared directly into her terrified eyes.
