Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1218:- Assassination within Mansion [II]
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
"You should have seen the look on her face when I pulled her inside the mansion and took her to one of the bedrooms." Hearing those words, the other drunken cultivators immediately burst into loud laughter.
"Hahahahahahaha!!!"
Their laughter echoed throughout the entire living room of the mansion. None of them seemed concerned about keeping their voices down, nor did anyone appear bothered by what the man had just admitted.
In fact, such behaviour was not particularly unusual among this group. Things like this had happened before, and Emperor Ren had continuously overlooked their actions. As long as they carried out the task he had personally assigned to them, he seemingly did not care much about what they did during their time inside the mansion.
Ten Sixth Order cultivators were currently gathered inside the massive living room. Four of them sat around a table playing cards, while the others were scattered across couches and chairs. Wine bottles, cups, and plates covered several tables around them, and almost everyone had been drinking heavily.
This was no ordinary wine either. It was a special type of alcohol specifically made for powerful cultivators. Ordinary alcohol would barely affect someone who had reached the Sixth Order, but this particular wine was strong enough to make even them drunk if they consumed enough of it.
And judging from their current condition, they had consumed far more than enough. Almost everyone in the room was already drunk to some degree. Their faces were flushed, their movements had become noticeably slower, and their conversations were much louder than normal.
Two of the ten cultivators had already passed out completely after continuously drinking for hours, leaving only eight of them conscious.
There was hardly anything else for them to do. Ever since Ren became Emperor, these cultivators had been removed from their previous positions and personally selected by him to guard this mansion.
They remained here throughout the day and night, rarely leaving the residence except when their duties required it. After months of nothing happening, drinking wine and playing cards had gradually become their primary sources of entertainment.
However, what most people inside the Imperial Royal Palace did not know was that guarding the mansion was only part of their actual responsibility. Their true task was to make sure that His Former Majesty Emperor Alen and Her Former Majesty Empress Elena remained imprisoned inside a room on the underground floor.
They were responsible for ensuring that neither Alen nor Elena escaped, while simultaneously preventing anyone unauthorised from approaching or entering the mansion. Ren had essentially turned their former residence into a luxurious prison, and these Sixth Order cultivators were its jailers.
Even the normal palace servants were forbidden from entering. Cleaning and maintaining the mansion had been left entirely to the cultivators stationed here, although judging from their current behaviour, they clearly did not take those responsibilities particularly seriously.
The mansion had only one regular connection with the outside world. A small number of maids personally selected and authorised under Ren’s orders were permitted to approach the residence for the sole purpose of delivering meals and other essential supplies. Even those maids had extremely limited access and were not allowed to freely move throughout the mansion.
Beyond that, the residence remained completely isolated from the rest of the Imperial Royal Palace. And while the ten cultivators continued drinking, laughing, and playing cards without a care in the world, none of them realised that a few of their companions upstairs were already dead.
BOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!
A deafening explosion suddenly shook the Imperial Royal Palace. The ten Sixth Order cultivators inside the living room were immediately startled. Their drunken expressions disappeared as the tremendous sound reached their ears, but Aditya had deliberately been waiting for this exact moment.
The instant the explosion reached the mansion and distracted everyone inside, Aditya moved.
He teleported directly between two cultivators who had been lying comfortably on beanbags with wooden mugs of wine still in their hands. Before either man could properly understand what had happened, Aditya’s arms moved in opposite directions. His sword and dagger flashed simultaneously, and with two clean strikes, both cultivators were decapitated.
Their severed heads flew across the living room in opposite directions. Coincidentally, the two heads flew directly toward another pair of cultivators who were relaxing on beanbags nearby.
Both men were still holding wooden mugs filled with wine when they suddenly saw the severed heads of their companions flying toward them. Seeing this, their eyes widened in horror.
One of them instinctively began gathering mana while the other tried to jump to his feet, but neither was given the opportunity to properly react.
Aditya disappeared once again. Before the two cultivators could even follow his movement, he appeared directly behind them. His sword moved in a single horizontal arc, cutting through both of their necks almost simultaneously. Their heads separated from their bodies before either man could turn around and see the person who had killed them.
In less than a second, four Sixth Order cultivators had been killed. More importantly, these four had been the most sober cultivators inside the living room.
The remaining four conscious cultivators who had been sitting around the table playing cards immediately realised that they were under attack. The cards were abandoned as all four jumped to their feet and released their mana. Despite the alcohol affecting their bodies and minds, their instincts as powerful Sixth Order cultivators immediately took over.
They charged toward Aditya together. But before they could reach him, crimson lightning suddenly erupted around Aditya’s body.
Crimson Lightning wrapped around him like a cloak, further increasing his already terrifying agility while simultaneously strengthening his defenses. The four cultivators barely had time to register the strange crimson lightning before Aditya disappeared from their sight once again.
He appeared directly behind their group. The two cultivators at the rear did not even realize that he was there. Aditya swung his sword.
Slash!!!
A single clean strike passed through both of their necks.
Two more heads fell.
The two cultivators at the front immediately spun around after sensing something behind them, only to witness blood spraying from the severed necks of their companions. Their headless bodies remained standing for a brief moment before slowly falling backwards, while their severed heads rolled across the floor.
Neither of the dead cultivators had even understood how they had been killed. In fact, none of the guards inside the living room properly understood what kind of enemy had suddenly appeared among them.
Aditya’s teleportation ability made fighting him completely different from fighting an ordinary cultivator. As long as he could clearly see his destination, he could instantly appear there. A distance of hundreds of meters or even thousands of meters meant practically nothing to him. Front, back, left, right; it did not matter.
The moment an opening appeared within his sight, Aditya could immediately exploit it. And now, that ability had become even more terrifying.
If this had been Aditya while he was still at Peak Fifth Order, killing multiple Sixth Order cultivators this quickly would have been far more difficult. Even with teleportation giving him an enormous advantage, the difference in their physical abilities would have forced him to be much more careful.
But Aditya was no longer a Fifth Order cultivator. He had survived all six strikes of his Heavenly Tribulation and successfully stepped into Beginner Sixth Order. The breakthrough had caused an enormous improvement in his base physical abilities, strengthening his speed, strength, senses, stamina, mana capacity, and overall combat ability.
The difference was immediately visible. These Sixth Order cultivators were powerful by ordinary standards. But against the current Aditya, especially while they were drunk, distracted, and completely unprepared for his teleportation ability, they were being slaughtered before they could even understand what was happening.
"You bastard!!" The remaining cultivators charged straight at Aditya in fury. Their mana surged around their bodies as they attacked from different directions, intending to overwhelm him before he could use that strange teleportation ability again.
But Aditya did not move. He calmly stood there and watched their blades rapidly approach his body. Then, at the exact moment when the weapons were only a fraction of a second away from touching him, the space surrounding Aditya distorted ever so slightly.
The distortion lasted for less than a millisecond. It was so sudden and so faint that neither cultivator even noticed it. Aditya once again disappeared.
Their attacks passed directly through the empty space where his body had been standing just a moment earlier. Before either cultivator could process what had happened, Aditya had already appeared behind them.
His sword immediately moved. The blade pierced straight through the back of one cultivator’s neck and emerged from the front of his throat. The man’s eyes widened as blood poured from his mouth, but Aditya had already shifted his attention toward the final cultivator.
Still affected by the alcohol in his system, the last man reacted slightly slower. By the time he turned around, Aditya had already gathered a concentrated amount of mana into his palm.
Bang!!!
Aditya’s palm slammed directly into the cultivator’s chest. The concentrated mana penetrated his body and violently destroyed his cultivation foundation from within. The cultivator’s eyes bulged as unbearable pain instantly spread throughout his body. His legs weakened, and his mouth opened as he prepared to release a thunderous scream.
Aditya did not give him that opportunity. Before the scream could escape, Aditya reached into his storage ring, took out the severed head of one of the man’s companions, and violently shoved it against his mouth, muffling the scream before it could echo through the mansion.
For the next few seconds, nothing happened. The cultivator remained frozen in place, his ruined cultivation causing waves of unbearable pain to spread through his body. Yet even that pain seemed to momentarily disappear from his thoughts as he slowly raised his trembling gaze toward the man standing before him.
He saw Aditya’s eyes. Those eyes were completely cold and emotionless.
His crimson irises surrounded narrow vertical slit pupils, giving his gaze the unmistakable appearance of a Dragon. There was no anger in those eyes, nor excitement from the slaughter that had just taken place. There was only a frightening calmness, as though killing several Sixth Order cultivators had meant absolutely nothing to him.
The cultivator’s entire body began trembling. For a brief moment, he forgot that the person standing before him was Dragon in human form. It felt as though Death itself had taken the form of a Dragon and was staring directly into his soul.
