Aditya, torn by an impossible choice, asked for time alone. He found solace in the beauty of the night sky, momentarily escaping his burdens. Back in the living room, his companions worried, understanding the immense pressure he faced but respecting his need for space to make his decision.

Athena and Laura looked at each other silently.

Both of them were desperately trying to think of something that could help Aditya. They had faced countless difficult situations together, but this time was different. There was no enemy they could fight, no strategy they could create, and no power they could use to solve the problem in front of them.

The decision Aditya had to make was something that only he could decide. Through their soul link, Athena and Laura began communicating with each other.

’You know what, Athena?’

’What is it?’

’This time, my brain can’t think of a solution.’ Laura’s voice sounded frustrated and helpless.

For someone like Laura, who had always admired Aditya’s ability to overcome impossible situations, admitting that she could not find a solution was extremely difficult.

Aditya had helped her countless times.

He had saved her when she faced the deadliest assassin in the entire world. When she was struggling with her cultivation, he provided her with valuable cultivation pills that greatly improved her strength and allowed her to compete for the position of the next ruler of the Deep Sea Palace Empire.

He had also saved her from the kidnappers of the mysterious organization and protected her capital and saved millions of her citizens.

And most importantly, he had taken her on a trip towards the Main Continent. He faced countless life-and-death challenges alongside her, all so that she could reunite with Athena and allow her soul to reconnect with her other half.

Every time Laura had needed help, Aditya had appeared and supported her without hesitation. But now, when he was the one facing the most painful situation of his life, she could not think of a single way to help him.

’Despite him doing all of this for us, when he needs us the most, we cannot think of a way to help him.’

Laura felt beyond frustrated.

It was not because she believed she could solve everything for Aditya. She understood that this was a decision only he could make. However, she still wanted to do something. She wanted to reduce even a small portion of the burden he was carrying.

Seeing Aditya, the person who had always stood in front of everyone else and protected them, being forced into such a painful position was something that deeply troubled her.

For once, the person who had always been their support needed support himself. Yet, all they could do was watch and wait.

’I would not say that we are completely out of options. However, right now, we do not have a third option simply because we lack the necessary information.’

Athena explained calmly through their soul link. She understood that their current situation was extremely difficult, but she also knew that giving up or accepting that there was no solution would be the wrong approach.

’Yes. I agree.’ Laura nodded in agreement.

’And considering that Father Alen and Mother Elena have already made up their minds, I think we should give up any hope of obtaining useful information from those two.’ Those two had already accepted their deaths. Once people like them have made up their minds, it is almost impossible to change their mindset.

Athena understood what Laura meant. Alen and Elena had already accepted their decision, and no matter how much they wanted to change their minds, the two of them would most likely refuse to provide any information that could make Aditya hesitate or put them before the empire.

Their parents had already decided to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the civil war. Trying to convince them otherwise would only make the situation more complicated.

’Then we should approach someone who has lived in the Imperial Royal Palace for their entire life and knows the entire place inside and out.’ The moment Laura said those words, Athena immediately understood who she was referring to.

Her gaze shifted toward Alfred, who was standing behind Alen. Alfred had served the Imperial Family for many years. He had served Emperor Boris before serving Emperor Alen till the end of his reign. He had spent his entire life inside the Imperial Royal Palace and understood its structure, security, and hidden details better than almost anyone else.

If there was someone who could provide them with the information they needed, it was him. ’Yes. You are right. However, asking him in front of everyone would be a bad option.’

Athena carefully considered the situation before continuing.

’Once the meeting is over, we will approach him and ask him to provide us with information. We need to know every single corner of the Imperial Royal Palace.’

The Royal Palace was not a place they could enter blindly. Even with their strength, infiltrating the heart of the Celestial Dragon Empire would require careful planning. They needed to understand the palace’s layout, security measures, hidden entrances, and every possible weakness that could be used during the operation.

If they truly wanted to save Alen and Elena, they needed to gather every piece of information available before making their move.

Elena did not want the atmosphere to remain so dark and gloomy anymore.

Not long ago, everyone in the room had been smiling. The reunion had been filled with happiness, warmth, and laughter. For a brief moment, they had been able to forget the conflicts and hardships that surrounded them.

However, everything had changed after discussing the civil war and the difficult decision that Aditya had to make.

Seeing the heavy atmosphere, Elena decided that she did not want everyone to remain trapped in those painful thoughts. Especially when she might not have another opportunity to experience moments like this again. She wanted to leave beautiful memories. Their last memories should not be gloomy.

"Spencer, why don’t you tell me a little bit more about the Istarin Empire?" Everyone looked towards Elena as she spoke.

"I would love to hear about the empire that my son has created and the empire that is feared across all six continents." There was another reason behind Elena’s request.

She wanted to learn more about the Istarin Empire because she and Alen might never get the chance to personally visit it. In fact, given their current situation, even using the word "might" was being overly optimistic.

Deep down, Elena and Alen both understood the reality of their situation. The possibility of death was no longer just a distant thought. It was something they had already accepted as the most likely outcome.

Understanding Elena’s intention, Spencer decided to help change the atmosphere. He knew that Aditya’s mother wanted to hear about the empire her son had built as she would never get the chance to see it herself, so he began explaining.

He decided to start with things that Aditya came up with on his own and implemented. "Well, His Majesty Aditya made education, shelter, and food the basic rights of every living being within his territory. Because of this, we essentially do not have any homeless people."

Spencer paused for a moment before continuing. "There are shelters throughout the empire. They are large buildings with many small rooms. Each room can accommodate a single person. They are not luxurious places, but at the very least, people do not have to sleep on the streets, and their basic needs for food and shelter are secured."

"Also, if the shelter rooms are made too comfortable, then there would be no incentive for the homeless to try and improve their own lives."

"Oh my. That is such a wonderful idea."

Elena was immediately captivated by Aditya’s approach.

She had expected her son to create a powerful empire through military strength and political influence. However, hearing that he had focused on improving the lives of ordinary citizens surprised and impressed her.

"But implementing such a system throughout an entire empire must cost a fortune, right?" Alen asked.

As a former emperor, he understood the financial burden that came with maintaining such a large-scale program. Providing food and shelter for countless citizens was not something that could be achieved without careful planning and a stable economy.

Spencer did not try to hide the reality.

"We do not need to worry about paying for food because it is grown through the powers of the Goddess of Nature. The growth of crops can be accelerated, allowing us to produce enough food for everyone."

So that meant there was no food cost at all. In fact, because of Riya, they produced surplus crops that were sold at a cheaper price to other markets or were bought by other Empires or merchants that were struggling with food.

"As for the shelters, they are mostly a one-time investment. The important thing is that our citizens are no longer forced to live on the streets. With our current revenue, we can comfortably maintain this program without ever needing to worry about funds."

Spencer smiled slightly as he continued.

"His Majesty thought everything through before implementing this plan." He looked proud while talking about the empire Aditya had created.

"He did not simply create a system based on kindness. He created a system that could continue functioning for generations without becoming a burden on the empire’s resources."

Hearing this, Elena’s expression softened. For the first time since the painful conversation began, a small smile returned to her face.

She had always known that Aditya was powerful. She had seen his strength and heard about his achievements. But hearing how he cared for ordinary people made her understand the kind of Emperor her son had truly become.
