Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1168:- Gloomy and Beauty
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
After remaining silent for more than thirty-five minutes, Aditya finally spoke.
However, he did not provide an answer. Instead, he simply informed everyone that he wanted to be alone for a while.
"I want to have some time to myself." His voice was calm, but everyone could feel the exhaustion and conflict hidden beneath those words.
Respecting his wishes, Rin did not say anything and immediately sent him out of the spiritual world so that he could spend some time alone. She understood that Aditya needed a moment away from everyone to process his thoughts and make sense of the impossible choice that had been placed before him.
As Aditya disappeared from the spiritual world, Alen and Elena continued to look in the direction where their son had vanished. Their expressions were filled with worry and guilt.
They knew how much pain they had caused him by forcing him to face such a cruel decision. As parents, seeing their child suffer because of their own words was painful. They wanted nothing more than to protect him, not become another source of pressure on his shoulders.
However, they also knew that this was a necessary evil. Sometimes, leaders had to make painful decisions in order to achieve a greater goal. Sometimes, sacrifices had to be considered if they increased the chances of victory and secured a better future for everyone.
The civil war was not a simple conflict over power. The outcome would decide the future of the Celestial Dragon Empire and determine whether the people would be freed from the control of Emperor Ren and the mysterious organization.
If forcing Aditya to face this painful reality helped increase their chances of winning the war, then Alen and Elena believed that it was something that had to be done. Even if it meant hurting their own son in the process.
Because in the end, they did not want Aditya to fight only for them. They wanted himself, fight to fight for the future of the empire, for the people who believed in him, and for the peaceful world they hoped he would create.
Aditya opened his eyes and found himself back in his bedroom.
The girls were lying all around him on the bed, peacefully asleep. Their bodies were close to him, with some of their hands and legs resting on him. For a moment, he simply looked at them silently before gently removing their arms and legs from his body, making sure not to wake any of them up.
After wearing some simple, loose clothes, Aditya quietly walked out of the room. He moved carefully and silently, not wanting to disturb their sleep. Right now, he did not want anyone to notice him leaving or ask him questions about what was happening in his mind.
After exiting the room, his original plan was to head towards the forest outside the city. He thought that hunting some magic animals might help him calm down and refresh his mind. Perhaps releasing some of his frustration by fighting and using his abilities would allow him to temporarily forget about the impossible decision that he had been forced to make.
However, that thought disappeared almost immediately.
Within seconds, Aditya lost all motivation to leave the city. He no longer felt like throwing Crimson Fire Balls at magic beasts or using teleportation to instantly slice through the necks of magic animals.
The idea that would normally excite him as a warrior felt meaningless at this moment. But His heart simply was not in it. His heart was very unsettled now.
As he walked through the quiet corridor of the mansion, he happened to pass by a large window that was wide open. The moment he looked outside, his attention was drawn toward the night sky.
A bright white moon hung high above, perfectly round and illuminating the world beneath it. He had to admit that the moon looked very gorgeous tonight.
The sky was unusually clear tonight. Countless stars covered the darkness above, shining brightly without anything blocking their view. ’Now that I think about it, the sky of this world has a lot more stars visible than it did back on Earth.’
Aditya looked upward with a slight sense of amazement. From where he stood, he could even see the entire Milky Way stretching across the sky.
Of course, this was partly because of his enhanced vision as a cultivator. His senses were far beyond those of ordinary humans, allowing him to see things that normal people could never notice. However, another major reason was that this world had almost no light pollution. Unlike Earth, where artificial lights covered the night sky and hid the beauty of the stars, this world allowed the true appearance of the universe to be seen.
"I never realized that the sky could be so beautiful."
For the next ten minutes, Aditya simply stood there and looked at the sky without thinking about anything.
For once, he did not think about the civil war, Emperor Ren, the mysterious organization, or the impossible decision that had been placed before him.
He did not know why, but at this moment, he simply did not want to think about his problems.
Perhaps his mind was trying to escape from reality for a little while. The decision he had to make was too complicated, too painful, and filled with too many emotions. No matter how much he tried to analyse it logically, his feelings continued to interfere.
So, for the first time in a long while, Aditya allowed himself to stop thinking. He simply stood there beneath the endless night sky and quietly admired its beauty.
Everyone sat in the living room in complete silence.
The atmosphere was heavy, and the silence itself felt suffocating. Rin and Athena looked at each other with worried expressions, while Sasha and Riya did the same. None of them knew what to say because everyone understood the weight of the decision that Aditya had been forced to make.
With every passing second, the pressure in the room only continued to increase.
The girls could not imagine being placed in such a difficult situation. They could not imagine having to choose between their family and the future of an entire empire and his close ones. Yet, Aditya had been forced to carry that burden alone.
It was not just a political decision. It was a decision that involved his parents, his emotions, and the future of countless people around him.
Riya, who had been sitting silently for a long time, finally reached her limit. She could not continue waiting without doing anything.
She stood up. "I’m going to check on Aditya."
’Aditya needs me.’ At least, that was what she felt in her heart as she prepared to leave.
She was about to ask Rin to send her out of the spiritual world when suddenly, Amelia reached out, grabbed her wrist, and gently pulled her back down onto the seat.
"Mother?"
Riya looked at Amelia with a questioning expression. She was clearly surprised that her mother had stopped her.
"Riya, you need to sit down and let Aditya think for a while. This is not an easy decision."
Riya opened her mouth to respond. She wanted to explain that she was not going to Aditya to tell him what decision he should make. She was not going there to influence his choice or give him advice about something that only he could decide.
She simply wanted to comfort him.
She wanted to ease some of the pain that he was carrying alone.
"I know that you want to comfort him and ease his pain a little. But trust me. As much as I also want to do the same for him right now, even though it might sound cruel, we need to give him some space to decide and choose what he wants to do."
Amelia’s words were calm, but everyone could understand the pain behind them. After all, how could she not want to comfort the man she loved?
Seeing Aditya suffer like this hurt everyone in the room. They wanted to go to him, hold him, and tell him that everything would be fine. They wanted to take away the burden that was crushing his heart.
But this was something that no one else could solve for him. Their comforting words might make him smile for a moment. Their presence might make him feel less alone. However, at the end of the day, the decision still belonged to Aditya.
He was the one who had to choose. Unfortunately, time was not on their side.
The civil war could come at their doorsteps at any given second now, and every moment they spent waiting was another moment Emperor Ren and the mysterious organization continued strengthening their position.
Aditya needed time to think, but he also needed to make a decision soon. And everyone in the room could only wait and hope that, when the time came, he would be able to choose the path that would lead them toward victory.
