Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1164:- Objectives of the Civil War

"It’s nice to meet you, Spencer." Alen said with a warm smile. "Thank you for helping Aditya."

From the brief exchange between the two young men, Alen could already tell that although one was the Emperor and the other was the Prime Minister, the difference in their positions had not created any distance between them. Their relationship seemed far closer than that of a ruler and his subordinate. It would not even be wrong to call them close friends.

Having ruled the Celestial Dragon Empire for many centuries, Alen understood better than anyone how difficult it was for an Emperor to find genuine friendship.

Making acquaintances was easy. Making friends was also easy. However, finding someone who truly treated the Emperor as a person rather than as a ruler was incredibly difficult.

Many people approached the Emperor because they hoped to gain influence, wealth, status, or political advantages. Even those who initially appeared sincere could become difficult to judge once they began asking for favors. At that point, it became almost impossible to distinguish between a true friend and someone who had only built the friendship for personal benefit.

Because of that, Alen had spent most of his reign with very few people whom he could genuinely call friends. Alfred was one of the rare exceptions.

Looking at Aditya and Spencer now, Alen felt relieved. Regardless of their official positions, it was obvious that the trust between them went far beyond politics. Spencer was not simply serving the Emperor. He was standing beside his friend.

Alfred continued with the introductions and gestured toward the next young man.

"This is Nathan." Alfred said. "He is one of the Seven Captains and one of the most important generals of the Istarin Empire. He is the commander of the Shadow Division."

Seeing the curious expressions around him, Alfred continued explaining the purpose of Nathan’s organization.

"The duty of the Shadow Division is not to stand in the light and receive glory. Their responsibility is to eliminate corruption from the shadows of the Empire. They quietly remove corrupt officials, traitors, spies, and hidden threats before those problems can grow large enough to harm the Empire."

"The Shadow Division itself is divided into multiple specialized branches. Each branch has a different responsibility. Some operate within the Empire, while others carry out missions beyond our borders. Their objective is simple. To ensure that every threat against the Istarin Empire is discovered and eliminated before it becomes dangerous."

"In short, Nathan and the Shadow Division keep the Empire clean."

"Ohhh..."

Alen could not hide his surprise.

"That’s seriously impressive."

Malakor Harrington was equally amazed. Unlike most people, he immediately understood the political value of such an organization. A force that operated in the shadows to remove corruption and hidden enemies would greatly strengthen any nation from within.

"We should have created something similar in the Celestial Dragon Empire." Malakor Harrington said with a sigh. "If we had established such a system long ago, perhaps many of the events that eventually led to the Civil War could have been prevented."

Standing beside him, Wahid silently nodded in agreement. He understood exactly what his father meant. A nation could not rely solely on powerful armies and strong cultivators. Sometimes, the greatest threats were the ones hidden within its own government.

"It was Aditya’s idea, honestly. Nathan was the perfect guy for the job."

"Back then, Aditya said he wanted seven divisions. Each being headed by one General. Each division is different from the other."

Hearing this, Alen turned towards Aditya with a proud smile.

"My son is a genius."

"I have to agree. Our son is a much better emperor than you were." Elena bluntly admitted.

However, Alen did not take her words to heart. In fact, he completely agreed with her. Even he knew and openly admitted that he was not a good emperor. This could be seen from many things that happened during his reign.

Most importantly, he was never truly interested in becoming the emperor in the first place. He had always wanted his older brother to inherit the throne, but unfortunately, his brother had passed away, leaving him with no choice but to take on the responsibility.

"I agree. Our little genius is just like father." Alen felt that Aditya and Boris were very similar. Both men were naturally talented when it came to ruling as an emperor. Alen was genuinely happy that his son had inherited this quality from Boris.

"Actually, this might be bold of me to say, but I believe his majesty is even better than grandpa Boris."

"I really wish I had the opportunity to show you all just how much he has transformed the entire Istarin Empire. Only then would you all truly understand what I mean." Spencer had read about Boris since coming here and even met the man. In his opinion, Boris was a great Emperor but not good enough to be compared with best friend Aditya who was on an another level.

"I don’t need to see the Istarin Empire to understand that. I can already tell that my grandson will be a much better emperor than Boris ever was." Malakor Harrington said without holding back. The things that he had seen Aditya do since meeting him was enough for him to be convinced.

"By the way, where is Grandpa Boris?" Aditya asked after noticing that Boris was not present to witness this wonderful reunion. He was the only one missing from the family.

"I tried to pull him inside the spiritual world, but I could not. It seems he still has not fallen asleep yet." Rin replied to Aditya.

"I guess this means he still has not returned to the mansion yet." Hearing this, Malakor Harrington replied.

"Did he go somewhere?" Aditya asked.

"Well, his two students came to visit him outside of the city." Hearing this, everyone immediately understood the situation and why Boris had not returned yet.

"I heard he greeted his two students by brutally beating them into a bloody mess." While saying this, Malakor Harrington paused for a moment before laughing out loud.

’Well, this sounds like something that dad would do.’ Alen thought to himself with a wry smile.

"After that, all three of them disappeared. I guess those three needed some private time to catch up and discuss the civil war."

"Makes sense."

"Let’s proceed without him."

"Before we begin, I would like everyone to understand that we have two objectives in this civil war that we must accomplish."

"We cannot, and I want to stress this, we cannot and must not give up on either of these objectives. Both are equally important, and failing even one of them will affect the future of the Istarin Empire."

Hearing this, everyone turned their attention towards Aditya. They could already understand what the first objective of the civil war was.

It was obvious that their main goal was to win this conflict and remove the influence of the mysterious organization from the Celestial Dragon Empire by eliminating Emperor Ren and all the members of the organization who had infiltrated the empire.

However, the second objective was something that no one could guess. Aditya had not mentioned it before, and based on his serious expression, everyone could tell that it was something equally important.

Even Athena could only vaguely guess what his second objective might be. She had considered a few possibilities, but she wanted to hear it directly from Aditya himself.

"As you all might have already guessed, our first objective is to win this civil war and reduce the presence of this mysterious organization from our land."

"We must completely remove their influence from the Istarin Empire and restore control over our own government. This war is not only about defeating Emperor Ren’s forces. It is about reclaiming the empire from those who have been secretly controlling it from the shadows."

Aditya paused for a moment before continuing. "But the second objective is something that we must complete before the end of the civil war. We cannot delay this until after the war is over because by then, my cousin brother could use my parents against us."

Hearing this, everyone’s expressions changed. They immediately understood the seriousness of his words.

"You don’t mean.....?"

"Yes. Before the civil war ends, we must find a way to sneak into the Royal Palace and safely bring my parents out of that place. After that, we must find a way to break them free from their mind control."

The room became silent as everyone absorbed Aditya’s words. Unlike the first objective, which was a matter of defeating their enemies on the battlefield and restoring political stability, the second objective was far more personal and complicated. The Royal Palace was currently under Emperor Ren’s control, and any attempt to infiltrate it would be extremely dangerous.

However, Aditya knew that leaving his parents in the hands of his cousin and the mysterious organization was not an option. As long as they remained inside the palace, they could be used as weapons against him and the empire. If the enemy controlled the former emperor and empress, they would have a powerful tool to weaken Aditya’s authority and create chaos among the people.

The civil war was not simply a battle for the throne. It was a battle to determine the future direction of the Istarin Empire. Therefore, before the final confrontation arrived, Aditya needed to secure his parents and remove every possible advantage that his enemies could use against him.
