Dragon Monarch System Chapter 1029:- Old Emperor Boris
Previously on Dragon Monarch System...
"So this is the pocket dimension where all elders and previous emperors of the celestial dragon empire are resting."
After arriving straight from the Dragon Mountain Range—a region blanketed in thick, ominous purple mist—this pocket dimension appeared utterly invigorating to behold.
Endless expanses of lush greenery and stunning blossoms filled the whole Pocket Dimension. Flowers bloomed everywhere in such abundance that a rich, calming scent permeated the very air.
"Wow, this place is so pretty." Drawn in as young women, the three girls were immediately captivated by the myriad flowers of every hue and size. Unable to resist, the trio split off in different directions to examine various blooms.
Aditya stayed rooted in place, taking in the splendor around him. This spot truly resembled paradise.
’A perfect place for those old immortals to rest.’
A stunning blue colored the sky.
Mana density in this Pocket Dimension surpassed the norm. Peace and serenity enveloped everything here. Simply standing in this realm erased Aditya’s troubles, urging him to savor the instant.
’I wish I could have bought everyone here. This would have been a perfect spot for a picnic.’
Aditya could already picture the scene if the others joined them now.
Riya, the Goddess of Nature, would adore this haven.
Julia would rush off to hunt for rare blossoms.
Lara would frolic with Clara.
Lilith would surely nap beneath a tree’s shade.
Sasha might seek out toxic flowers.
Leo would likely stand by Aditya, soaking it all in.
"It’s bigger than I thought." Athena’s senses spanned merely 1/10000th of the pocket dimension’s entirety. In other words, the vastness here meant her perception reached only 0.01% of the total expanse.
"It’s the resting place of the top powerhouses of the celestial dragon empire. I would be surprised if this place were small like a typical pocket dimension."
"There were some who chose to die in this place."
"They would willingly come to this place and enter a state where they release their Mana into the atmosphere. In a few decades, they take their final breath and peacefully pass away."
"This explains why the Mana density in this place is so high."
"But I don’t understand why they end their own life when the very core of cultivation is to gain immortality." Rin couldn’t resist inquiring.
"Saying that the core of cultivation is immortality is wrong. In this society, cultivation is more important than money. It’s not about immortality. It’s about gaining power so as not to be bullied by those who have cultivation."
"If the thing that we all use to cultivate one day disappears from this world, then this whole world will look completely different." Aditya’s statement plunged the girls into profound reflection.
"In fact, in the long-term, it might actually be a good thing if Mana disappeared from this world. There will be less violence. This unfair society, where normal people are treated like they belong to the bottom of society, will change." The cultivation world brimmed with injustice. The mightiest could act without restraint, while mortals suffered in silence.
"Is that why you are so against corruption in your Empire?" Athena questioned.
Aditya nodded. That ranked among his primary motivations.
"Alright, let’s look for Grandpa." Finding him posed the greatest challenge. Extreme caution was essential to avoid rousing others. Those slumbering here wielded such overwhelming might that they could annihilate intruders before a single thought formed.
"Do you know where Grandpa Boris is?" Rin inquired.
"My dad told me to keep heading in the direction of north. Eventually, I will come across a large lake that has a floating island on top of it."
At last, the group arrived at Boris’s resting spot—a grand Mansion perched atop a floating Island.
Within the Mansion’s largest chamber, Boris slumbered in utter silence. No other soul occupied the building besides him.
An elderly yet striking man awoke, his piercing blue eyes locking onto Aditya the instant they opened.
Matching Aditya’s height, the old man bore a striking resemblance to him. Disheveled long white hair framed his features, and a white Kimono draped his form, signifying his readiness for the afterlife.
"Grandpa, I am...!!"
"I know." The elder interrupted smoothly. Rising to sit, he turned his gaze to the girls trailing behind.
He knew them all.
He had encountered Athena and Laura in their early childhood.
During his last visit outside this realm to check on affairs, he had paused to see newborn Rin.
"My grandson, why are you here?" Boris sensed Aditya had come for a purpose.
"I am here for you." Boris gestured for Aditya to sit at the edge of the bed.
Upon noticing this, Aditya took a seat.
"Tell me what happened?" he inquired with utmost gravity in his voice.
At that moment, the girls exchanged glances. True to form for the ruler of the Celestial Dragon Empire over 20,000 years, the instant his eyes opened, the room's air turned intensely heavy.
"My cousin Ren became the Emperor....!!"
Upon hearing those words, Boris's brow furrowed deeply right away.
"Why would Alen let that fool claim the Emperor's seat?" Every encounter Ren had with Boris left a poor mark. Having governed the Celestial Dragon Empire with unyielding strength, he recognized Ren's utter unworthiness for the throne, driven purely by excessive greed for power.
That's precisely why Boris had cautioned Alen against letting Ren ascend unless he transformed. Yet this advice came before Aditya's birth. Once Aditya arrived, no matter his future character, Boris instructed Alen to name his grandson Crown Prince and pass the throne to him in time.
Aditya gave a wry smile at Boris's reaction and the scowl on his face. Though he'd only seen Boris twice—once at his birth and once at age five—his memories of his grandfather were all warm ones.
"Grandpa, it’s going to be a long story."
"Then you’d better start fast." He also gestured for the girls to take seats.
Yet before Aditya could start, Boris spotted something, and a proud grin spread across his features.
"Very good. You have managed to awaken Divine Dragon Blood." Aditya froze in shock at this. Still, he realized surprise wasn't warranted. During Boris's reign over the Empire, not even a fly could buzz across the Celestial Dragon Empire without his approval.
Aditya believed the Celestial Dragon Empire hit its zenith under Boris’s command.
"The fact that you have awakened the Divine Dragon Bloodline itself should immediately qualify you as the rightful Emperor of the Celestial Dragon Empire."
For an instant, Aditya struggled to decide where to start. He hated kicking off with his exile from the Empire. However, grasping the full tale required including that detail.
"But since you have made this difficult journey to come see your grandpa, I guess this matter is way bigger than an issue." Aditya nodded in agreement.
Aditya’s tale enraged Boris completely. By the conclusion, he struggled to rein in his massive killing intent.
Even so, the mere traces seeping from his aged form left them all choking for air.
Boris drew in a profound breath to steady his fury.
He fixed a icy stare on Rin. "Summon that brat to the Spiritual World. I want to meet him."
Once they all gathered in the spiritual world, Alen caught Boris's chilling gaze, while Athena and the girls found the sight amusing.
The haughty Emperor appeared utterly frightened of his father.
Rin led them into the Dragon Palace's living room. Throughout, Boris, Aditya, and Alen stayed utterly mute. The three generations held their silence.
After Boris claimed his seat, Alen moved to do the same.
"You don’t sit." Alen tasted bitterness at the command. He understood punishment was coming before his own children. Yet what choice did he have? He held Boris in highest esteem and greatest dread.
"Rest....all sit down." Boris kept Alen standing right in his view.
Aditya’s mother glanced at her spouse and let out a sigh. Certain traits endure forever. Still, it made sense—Boris enforced iron discipline, yet possessed a tender core.
