Divine King of Honour Chapter 1843: Terror Canyon
Previously on Divine King of Honour...
Mu Yuqing remained unresponsive despite Xu Nian calling her name multiple times. It was evident that she had completely lost consciousness.
"This Ghost Vine Poison is quite potent," Xu Nian mused. Lacking soul power, he was unable to directly probe Mu Yuqing’s soul essence. However, he could clearly feel how domineering the poison was, as her soul essence was rapidly depleting.
He realized that if a solution wasn't found soon, her soul essence might completely collapse. This was only because she possessed Godhood; a Nether Emperor would have perished already.
Xu Nian retrieved the Realm Heart Lake Water and poured a small kettleful into Mu Yuqing. This special water possessed properties that could nourish soul essence and supply a vast amount of soul power. While it couldn't detoxify her immediately, it could at least impede the fading of her soul essence.
After administering about ten bottles, Mu Yuqing’s soul essence finally stabilized. Her eyes slowly fluttered open, though she remained extremely weak.
"How are you feeling now?" Xu Nian inquired.
"Terribly painful. My soul essence feels ensnared by countless Ghost Vines, leaving me utterly drained," Mu Yuqing responded, speaking the truth.
The Ghost Vine was known as an exceptionally domineering poisonous plant within their Netherworld. Those with lower cultivation typically succumbed to it, and even those at the Divine-level found it hard to withstand its terrifying toxins if the poisoning was severe.
Had Xu Nian not provided her with ample soul power, she would have already met her end.
"So, how can I help you eliminate the poison?" Xu Nian asked.
"Typically, in the regions where the Ghost Vine flourishes, a plant known as the Hell Flower can be found. This flower possesses detoxifying properties for the poison within me, but the Hell Flower is exceedingly rare. Without meticulous searching, it remains unseen," Mu Yuqing replied weakly.
"Understood. I will assist you in finding the Hell Flower," Xu Nian stated, preparing to depart. However, Mu Yuqing gently held him back.
"I must accompany you. Although I wounded that black panther, and it may not pursue us for a short while, if it returns, I will possess no strength to defend myself. Therefore, I must rely entirely on your protection," Mu Yuqing conveyed, her captivating face displaying a pale hue.
"Very well. But are you capable of walking?" Xu Nian inquired.
"Yes, if we proceed at a slow pace," Mu Yuqing affirmed.
"Excellent!" Xu Nian agreed. Together, they pressed onward, venturing deeper into the Shura Forest.
Xu Nian estimated they were still in the outer fringes of the Shura Forest, having yet to reach its true inner reaches. Given the peril of the outskirts, the dangers of the interior remained an unknown quantity.
"What does the Hell Flower look like? Does it have any particular habits?" Xu Nian inquired.
"The Hell Flower has a striking appearance, a vibrant blood-red color, with petals like delicate threads. Its allure is such that once you gaze upon it, you find it difficult to look away – that is the Hell Flower. As for its habits, it favors dark environments, often taking root on cliffs or precipices," Mu Yuqing described.
Upon hearing this, Xu Nian formed a rough mental image of the Hell Flower. Dark locations on cliffs and precipices? This posed a potential challenge. He wondered if cliffs even existed within this Shura Forest.
Indeed, before long, Xu Nian discovered a cliff face. To be more precise, it was a canyon.
This canyon plunged over five thousand meters deep, its walls adorned with abundant vegetation.
"The Hell Flower is located there," Mu Yuqing suddenly exclaimed, pointing to an exceptionally vivid red flower clinging to the cliff face below.
Xu Nian also observed the striking crimson flower. Its hue was as intense as fresh blood. Most notably, upon beholding the flower, Xu Nian experienced a peculiar, enchanting sensation.
"The Hell Flower possesses potent enchanting capabilities; it can easily draw people into an illusory realm without their awareness. Exercise caution when attempting to pick it. Furthermore, this canyon appears to be unusual," Mu Yuqing cautioned.
Xu Nian nodded, acknowledging her warning. He too sensed the extraordinary nature of the canyon, detecting an extremely dangerous and terrifying aura emanating from its depths, as if some incredibly fearsome entity dwelled below.
However, his objective was not to descend, but merely to retrieve the Hell Flower situated halfway down the cliff.
"Wait here; I will descend," Xu Nian declared.
"Be careful!" Mu Yuqing urged.
Xu Nian nodded and immediately employed the Wind Attribute Law, propelling himself downward. Without the ability to directly cultivate flight, he relied on this wind manipulation for aerial movement. Though less agile and swift than true flight, it sufficed for this controlled descent.
As Xu Nian’s form continued to fall, an intense, terrifying chill permeated the air, instilling a sense of dread within him. He felt an overwhelming presence of kill intent, potent and palpable.
Xu Nian perceived that the chill emanated not from actual cold, but from a kill intent of astonishing intensity, creating a chilling low temperature.
"What resides below to possess such terrifying kill intent?" Xu Nian mused.
As his descent continued, the palpable kill intent intensified further.
Abandoning further contemplation, Xu Nian quickened his pace toward the Hell Flower.
A delicate aroma drifted towards him.
In the subsequent moment, Xu Nian detected that something was not right.
Indeed, the Hell Flower previously before him vanished, replaced by a colossal snake coiled upon the cliff.
The enormous serpent flicked its crimson tongue, its gaze piercingly cold and predatory.
"A Divine-level Netherworld Beast Giant Snake? Could this be an illusion?" Xu Nian questioned in surprise.
Otherwise, how could the Hell Flower have dissolved into thin air?
"Roar!"
The giant snake unhinged its maw, lunging directly at Xu Nian.
Xu Nian offered no defensive stance.
If this were merely an Illusion Realm, there would be no need for defense.
However, as the colossal snake drew nearer, Xu Nian's sense of unease grew.
"Xu Nian, hurry! This is no illusion, it's a genuine giant snake!" Mu Yuqing urgently exclaimed.
Heeding the warning, Xu Nian finally grasped the peril.
Without a moment's delay, Xu Nian immediately unleashed his Low Grade Divine Sword, directing it at the giant snake.
Yet, owing to the serpent's extreme proximity, Xu Nian's strike proved regrettably delayed.
The God Sword, failing to reach full charge, was unceremoniously knocked aside by the giant snake.
Witnessing this, Xu Nian swiftly executed an evasive maneuver.
"Boom!"
The giant snake's jaws clamped down upon the cliff, pulverizing the rock.
But before Xu Nian could feel a sense of reprieve, a fearsome tail lashed out, striking him.
"Bang!"
Xu Nian's form was violently propelled towards a distant cliff face.
The cliff erupted with cracks, dislodging a cascade of boulders.
Yet, the giant snake did not relent, continuing its assault by lunging towards Xu Nian.
Xu Nian's eyes narrowed, his dodges constant and precise.
Nevertheless, the giant snake's assault speed was overwhelmingly swift.
Xu Nian narrowly evaded each strike; were it not for his utilization of the Space Law, he would have been engulfed by the monstrous serpent.
Even so, while Xu Nian could evade, this strategy was unsustainable for long.
"No, I must secure the Hell Flower first," Xu Nian resolved, instantly activating the Space Law.
Employing the Nihility Space Law, he propelled himself towards the Hell Flower.
At the very instant Xu Nian grasped the Hell Flower, the giant snake unexpectedly invoked the Water Attribute Law, unleashing a watery projectile towards Xu Nian's chest.
This blast propelled Xu Nian downwards, straight into the canyon below.
