Aldric of the Dragon Race and Damian fought fiercely, with Aldric unleashing his full power. However, Damian countered every attack, resulting in a draw. This unexpected outcome means the wager's fate hinges on the third battle, where Max will face the Dragon Race's champion.

"Max, you're up."

Daniel's voice came at that moment, calm as always.

Max turned toward him and nodded with a faint smile. "I know."

Anna looked at Max, then at the glowing Battle Space projection, and finally let out a long sigh. She looked like someone who wanted to stop this from happening but had already accepted there was no proper way to do it anymore.

"Guess there's nothing I can do now," Anna said, shaking her head in distress. "At least this is the Battle Space. Even if you get killed inside, nothing happens to your real body."

Max looked at her with a wry smile. "You really don't have any confidence in me."

"Confidence in you?" Anna put both hands on her waist and stared at him like he'd just asked the most unreasonable question in the world. "Max, you're at the 1st level of the Law Manifestation Realm. If you were at the 1st level of the Divine Lord Realm, sure, I'd have a little confidence in you."

She sighed again, then her expression turned more serious. "Listen carefully. If things feel wrong in there, admit defeat right away. The Battle Space recognizes when a participant admits defeat, and the fight ends on the spot. Don't try to act stubborn just because people are watching."

Max smiled lightly. A small smirk crossed his face.

Anna noticed it right away, her eyes narrowing. "What are you smiling at?"

"Just thinking about something," Max said.

Anna's expression turned suspicious. "What?"

Max glanced at the Battle Space, then looked back at her. "What if I win this battle?"

Anna stared at him.

Max continued with a smile. "Do I get any reward?"

For a moment, Anna didn't know whether to laugh or scold him. Her expression only got worse. "Do you actually believe you can beat someone at the 1st level of the Divine Lord Realm while you're only at the 1st level of the Law Manifestation Realm?"

"You never know what's possible in a place like this," Max replied with a shrug.

Anna looked at him for several breaths before slowly nodding, though her face made it clear she still didn't believe him. "Fine. If you really win this battle, I'll give you four hundred Bronze Marks. That satisfy you?"

Max's smile brightened a little. "That's more than enough."

He genuinely felt satisfied. He'd already gained more than three hundred Bronze Marks from killing the devils outside the city. If Anna gave him another four hundred after this battle, his total would cross seven hundred Bronze Marks.

He genuinely felt satisfied. He'd already gained more than three hundred Bronze Marks from killing the devils outside the city. If Anna gave him another four hundred after this battle, his total would cross seven hundred Bronze Marks.

At that point, hitting one thousand Bronze Marks and qualifying to condense a Gold Mark wouldn't feel far off anymore.

Of course, that only worked if he won. But to Max, that wasn't a problem.

"Bullshit!"

A sharp, insulting voice suddenly cut through the air.

The nearby crowd quieted slightly and turned toward the Dragon Race side.

A young Dragon Race genius stepped forward, his face filled with open contempt. He had gray-black scales covering both sides of his neck and spreading down across his arms, with a pair of short horns curving backward from his forehead. His golden eyes fixed on Max with clear anger, as if Max's confidence had personally offended him.

He was Greyjin. The last of the three Dragon Race contestants. Max's opponent.

Greyjin sneered coldly. "Do you actually think I'd lose to someone at the Law Manifestation Realm?"

His voice carried loud enough for many people around the Battle Space to hear. A ripple of amusement spread through the crowd right away. Some devils laughed outright. Several Dragon Race members wore mocking smiles.

Even a few neutral spectators looked at Max with strange expressions, like they were trying to figure out if this Primordial newcomer was brave, stupid, or just clueless about how large the gap between realms really was.

Greyjin shook his head with a cold smile. "I've been listening to your nonsense for a while now, and I have to say, I've never seen someone this boastful."

Bregor frowned slightly. "Greyjin."

Greyjin glanced at him but didn't back down. "What? I'm only stating a fact."

Then he pointed directly at Max. "Look at him. He's only at the 1st level of the Law Manifestation Realm, yet he stands here talking like beating me is already a done deal. If this isn't blatant humiliation toward the Dragon Race, then what is it?"

His voice turned colder. "I honestly think this weak Primordial is here just to insult us."

The crowd stirred again. The Primordial side frowned, some of them displeased, not because they believed Max would definitely win, but because Greyjin's words came off too harsh. The Dragon Race members, though, looked amused.

To them, Greyjin's anger made sense. A Law Manifestation Realm cultivator talking confidently before fighting a Divine Lord Realm dragon did sound absurd.

Anna's face darkened slightly. "This kid's making things worse."

Daniel stayed calm, though a faint glint showed in his eyes.

Damian looked at Greyjin and smiled lightly, like he could already guess what was coming.

Revona, on the other hand, glanced at Max with interest.

Max didn't look offended. Instead, he laughed softly. "Is that so?" he asked.

Greyjin's eyes narrowed.

Max looked at him calmly and continued, "Since you're so confident, how about we make a personal bet too?"

The crowd immediately grew more interested.

Greyjin's sneer deepened. "A personal bet?"

Max nodded. "Three hundred Bronze Marks."

The moment he said that, several people nearby reacted. For older participants, three hundred Bronze Marks wasn't shocking.

But for newcomers, especially one at the Law Manifestation Realm, it wasn't small at all. Plenty of spectators had already seen Revona win two hundred Bronze Marks in the first battle, and now Max was offering three hundred before his own fight had even started.

A devil in the crowd laughed. "This Primordial really wants to hand away marks."

Another spectator shook his head. "Either he's got absolute confidence, or he doesn't understand what a Divine Lord Realm dragon means."

A Dragon Race member sneered. "Greyjin should take it. Free marks are still marks."

Anna slowly turned toward Max, her expression looking even worse than before. "You're betting too?"

Max gave her a harmless smile. "Makes the battle more interesting."

Anna stared at him. "Max, you're about to make both me and Daniel lose marks, and now you want to lose your own too?"

"I haven't lost yet," Max said.

"That's not the comforting sentence you think it is," Anna replied.
