Aldric unleashes his strongest attack, Storm Dragon Cataclysm, combining his Half-Dragon Transformation and Pseudo Cosmic Path. Damian counters with a single, powerful sword strike from his Sword Sovereign Heaven path, neutralizing Aldric's attack. Both fighters are exhausted, leading Damian to propose a draw.

The crowd outside stirred in shock.

"A draw?"

"He's asking for a draw after countering Aldric's strongest attack?"

"No, look at him. That final sword took a lot out of him."

"Aldric's not in great shape either. If they keep fighting, either one could still go down."

Inside the arena, Aldric gritted his teeth. His pride didn't want to accept it. He came from the Dragon Race, and he'd entered this battle determined to win back face after Virgil's defeat.

He'd attacked from the start, controlled the rhythm, and pushed his Half-Dragon Transformation to its limit. In the end, he'd even revealed his Pseudo Cosmic Path and combined it with his strongest power.

Yet Damian had countered everything. Every claw, every dragon technique, every feint, every burst of pressure, and even his strongest attack had been answered by that calm sword. Aldric could tell Damian didn't have much energy left, but he also knew one painful truth.

He couldn't beat him. At least not in this battle.

After a long silence, Aldric slowly withdrew his aura. His Half-Dragon Transformation faded, and his body returned closer to its normal humanoid form. His face looked ugly, but his voice stayed controlled.

"I accept."

Damian nodded and lowered his sword too.

The Battle Space recognized both sides' agreement. A clear voice echoed through the arena.

"Second battle concluded."

"Result, draw."

The plaza outside the Battle Space fell into a strange silence. Then a wave of shocked voices erupted from every direction. No one had expected this result. The first battle had ended with Revona's victory.

The second battle, which many had expected the Dragon Race to fight desperately to win, had ended in a draw after Aldric used everything he had and still failed to break Damian's sword. The Dragon Race hadn't lost this match, but they hadn't won either.

That meant the final result of the wager would come down to the third battle. And the third fighter on the Primordial side was Max, the Law Manifestation Realm newcomer everyone had mocked.

A few moments later, the runes around the Battle Space flashed again. Damian appeared back in the plaza. His face looked a little pale, and his aura had clearly weakened after that final sword attack, but his expression stayed as calm as ever.

If not for the faint trembling in his sword hand, most people would've thought he'd just taken a short walk instead of fighting a fierce battle against a Dragon Race genius.

Max looked at him and smiled lightly. "Thanks."

Damian nodded like this was the most normal thing in the world. "No problem."

Anna, who'd been preparing to ask Damian about his condition, suddenly froze. Her gaze shifted from Max to Damian, then from Damian back to Max.

For a moment, she looked like she'd heard something absurd but couldn't decide which of the two seemed more suspicious.

Then her eyes went wide. She pointed at Damian and asked in disbelief, "Don't tell me you willingly chose to draw with Aldric!"

Damian turned his head slightly and looked away with a perfectly innocent expression. "What are you talking about?"

Anna's eyes narrowed.

Damian calmly continued, "I was tired. Aldric was strong, and I didn't think I could beat him easily. Instead of dragging the battle out and wasting more strength, I chose to settle it with a draw. I think that was a wise decision."

For a brief moment, everyone went quiet. Then Revona couldn't hold it in anymore.

"Pfff!"

She turned her face away and covered her mouth, her shoulders shaking lightly. Even Daniel's lips curved slightly, though he managed to keep his expression far more controlled.

Anna stared at Damian like he'd personally insulted her intelligence. "I don't believe you," she said firmly.

Damian blinked. "Why not?"

"Why not?" Anna repeated, her voice rising slightly. "You were calmly countering every single attack Aldric threw at you. He used his Half-Dragon Transformation. He used his dragon techniques. He used his Pseudo Cosmic Path. He even combined everything into one final strike, and you still cut it apart with one sword. Now you're standing here telling me you were too tired to keep going?"

Damian coughed lightly. "That sword took a lot of energy."

Anna crossed her arms. "I'm sure it did."

Her tone made it clear she didn't buy a word of it.

Max stood off to the side, still wearing a faint smile.

Anna immediately turned her glare on him. "And you," she said.

Max raised a brow. "Me?"

"Yes, you." Anna pointed at him, then pointed back at Damian. "You two are acting way too calm. You thanked him, and he said no problem. That's not how people talk after a normal draw. That's how people talk after successfully pulling off a plan."

Revona finally laughed softly. "Anna, you might actually be right."

Damian sighed and looked at Revona. "You're not helping."

"I'm not trying to," Revona replied with a smile.

Anna looked back at Damian with a sharp gaze. "You wanted Max to fight in the third round, didn't you?"

Damian stayed silent. That silence said more than any confession could.

Anna's expression turned even more incredulous. "You actually did it. You willingly drew against Aldric just so Max could get a battle."

Damian glanced at Max, then back at Anna. "The bet's not lost. Revona already won the first match, and I didn't lose the second. The third battle decides everything."

"That's not the point," Anna said, nearly speechless. "The point is you could've tried to finish it."

Damian smiled faintly. "Maybe."

Anna stared at him. "Maybe?" she repeated.

Daniel finally chuckled from the side. "Doesn't matter. With Max fighting the third battle, we've already won this bet against Bregor."

Max looked at Damian and said calmly, "I appreciate the chance."

Anna immediately turned back to Max. "Don't sound grateful. You're the whole problem here."

Max smiled helplessly. "I haven't done anything yet."

"That's exactly what worries me," Anna replied.

Revona laughed again, and even Damian couldn't fully hide the amusement in his eyes.

The surrounding spectators, though, had no idea what the Primordial group was even talking about.

To them, Damian's draw against Aldric had already been shocking enough. Plenty of people were still discussing the strength of Sword Sovereign Heaven and the fact that Aldric had failed to win even after revealing everything he had.

But among the Primordial side, the mood had strangely turned less tense and more ridiculous.

Anna had originally worried that Max would get forced into fighting. Now she realized Damian might have deliberately made sure it happened.

She pressed her fingers against her forehead and took a deep breath. "You people are going to give me a headache."

Max looked toward the Battle Space projection, where the notice for the third battle was already starting to form. His expression settled back into calm.

Damian had drawn the second battle. Revona had won the first. Now everything would come down to the final match.
