Max learns more about the Godslayer's Pilgrimage, discovering it has layers and a mysterious owner. After forcing a devil into his service with a slave seal, Max approaches Bloodstone City, an outer layer settlement known for its strict rules enforced by the city itself.

They approached the gate. The blood-red crystal above the entrance released a beam of light that swept over Max. The bronze mark on his wrist warmed slightly, and then the pressure disappeared.

No one stopped him. No guard questioned him. No fee got demanded. The devil beside him passed through the gate too, though his face stayed pale since the seal Max had placed inside his body was still there.

The moment Max stepped into Bloodstone City, his gaze sharpened. The city turned out far livelier than he expected. Wide streets stretched in several directions, paved with dark red stone that gave off a faint heat.

Tall buildings rose on both sides, some shaped like towers, some like fortresses, some like ancient temples converted into shops, halls, or resting places.

Strange signs floated in the air, glowing in different colors. Some displayed words related to mark exchange. Some advertised information halls. Some belonged to weapon stores, beast material shops, cultivation chambers, healing pavilions, and trial registration halls.

The most striking thing wasn't the city itself. It was the people. For the first time since entering the Godslayer's Pilgrimage, Max saw beings from all five races gathered in the same place.

Primordials walked through the streets with calm, proud expressions. Their auras came off stable, deep, and naturally close to the laws around them.

Some had faint golden patterns on their skin. Some carried ancient weapons on their backs. Some moved in groups, while others walked alone with the confidence of people who didn't fear being challenged.

Devils were around too. Their dark skin, horns, crimson tattoos, and savage auras made them easy to spot. Some stood huge and muscular, while others looked lean and cruel.

Their eyes often carried violence, and plenty of them didn't bother hiding their hostility toward members of the Primordial Universe. Still, despite their sneers and cold stares, none of them attacked openly.

Then Max saw the Spirit Race for the first time. They took humanoid form, but there was an otherworldly quality to how they looked. Their skin carried faint natural colors, like pale green, soft blue, moon-white, and light gold.

Some had hair that flowed like water, while others had hair resembling leaves, silver grass, or strands of soft light. Their eyes glowed clear and luminous, and their bodies seemed to breathe with the energy around them.

Unlike the devils, who gave off oppressive and brutal auras, the Spirit Race gave Max the feeling of living law and natural harmony. Some had small vines coiling around their wrists. Some had faint elemental halos behind them. Some walked barefoot across the stone streets, yet dust never seemed to touch their feet.

Max's gaze paused on them for a moment. "So those are true spirits in humanoid form," he muttered inwardly.

They were different from elves, different from humans, and different from Primordials. Their existence felt closer to nature itself, as if they'd been born from the breath of the world rather than from flesh alone.

Not far off, Max also spotted members of the Angel Race. Their appearances reminded him strongly of elves. Most stood tall, elegant, and almost impossibly beautiful. Their features looked refined, their skin fair, their hair coming in shades of silver, gold, white, and pale blue. Some had pointed ears, and their eyes carried a calm but distant pride.

Unlike ordinary elves, though, each of them had a golden halo floating above their head. Some halos were simple rings of light, while others were layered with runes, feathers, or sword-like patterns. Their auras came off pure, bright, and filled with a kind of holy order that made the surrounding space feel cleaner wherever they walked.

The sight sent Max's thoughts drifting. He remembered Planet Orion. He remembered Kazreth. That mysterious being had carried an aura similar to the Angel Race, but far stronger and more oppressive.

Back then, Max had guessed Kazreth might be the leader of the Angel Race, or at least someone standing extremely high in their hierarchy. Now, after seeing these angels in Bloodstone City, that feeling only grew stronger.

The angels here carried real power. But compared to the memory of Kazreth, they felt like sparks before a sun.

Max pulled his gaze away and kept looking around. Soon he spotted members of the Dragon Race. They also took humanoid form, but they looked very different from Max's own dragon transformation.

Max's dragon power usually showed up when he activated his Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline or transformed parts of his body. These Dragon Race members, though, carried dragon traits naturally even while holding humanoid shape.

Scales covered parts of their bodies like armor. Some had scales across their arms and shoulders. Some had scales running along their necks and faces. Some had long tails, sharp claws, or horns curving backward from their heads.

Their pupils looked narrow and beast-like, and their physical auras felt dense, heavy, and full of overwhelming vitality.

Some of them looked toward Max as he passed. Their gazes lingered on him for a moment, as if sensing the dragon aura hidden inside his body. But since Max didn't openly reveal his Black Dragon Chaotic Bloodline, they only looked at him with mild curiosity before turning away.

Max quietly took it all in. He'd expected trouble the moment he entered Bloodstone City.

After all, outside the city, three devils had been guarding a newbie spawning area just to rob and kill fresh arrivals. He'd figured a city packed with geniuses from all five races would be even more chaotic. He'd expected sneers, provocations, challenges, and maybe even immediate attacks.

But to his surprise, Bloodstone City felt fairly peaceful. Not friendly. Not gentle. But peaceful in its own cold way.

Everyone seemed caught up in their own business. Some hurried toward mark exchange halls. Some gathered near information boards. Some entered weapon shops or healing pavilions. Some sat in open courtyards negotiating trades.

Some stood outside large halls, forming temporary teams for nearby trials. The air carried tension, but it was controlled tension, like blades kept inside sheaths. Everyone here might be dangerous, but nobody drew their weapon without a reason.
