Elizabeth prepares to leave, stopping Fisher from touching her eyes and promising to return before dinner. She then departs, leaving Fisher alone in her chambers. He observes Dianne, the Inner Court Chief, who arrives to assist Elizabeth. Elizabeth instructs Dianne to bring "Mr. Helson’s granddaughter" to the inner court, then leaves with Dianne.

Speaking of Elizabeth’s eye problem, she subconsciously controlled Fisher’s hand from moving up, making Fisher realize that her subconscious is very resistant to others approaching her prosthetic eye, which means she has a protective feeling towards this relic, even for her beloved Fisher.

Fisher is unsure whether it is Pandora’s power influencing Elizabeth or if it’s her own thoughts, but this is not a good phenomenon.

An Angel Leader long dead, an inexplicably born relic resides in her eye; this cannot possibly be reassuring, especially as Emhardt previously stated that those eyes may harbor their own consciousness...

Retracting his gaze from the paintings on the wall, he walked into another adjacent room, which is Elizabeth’s office, feeling somewhat bored.

There are quite a few documents piled up here, mostly archived copies. The nearby bookshelf has also been converted by her into a filing cabinet, categorized into numerous areas to store different documents.

Soon, Fisher also saw a medical kit on the table, which wasn’t closed yet, revealing used magical remnants inside. Based on unused magic nearby, the magic that was used was a type of healing magic for body examination.

Upon seeing this healing magic, Fisher realized that yesterday Elizabeth undressed him not entirely for soaking up and extracting "Fisher energy," but she probably used magic privately to conduct a full body check on him.

After all, four and a half years ago, before he left, he spoke with Elizabeth saying he was going to die, and he didn’t have the chance to explain to her that he was being pursued by death. Perhaps Elizabeth mistakenly thought he contracted some illness or suffered external injuries.

When confronting Valentina earlier, he was too busy arguing to inquire, but in fact, she was worried about Fisher’s health, fearing he would repeat the story from four and a half years ago, barely returning to her side only to soon drop dead again.

Fisher blinked and closed the medical kit. As he raised his eyes, the photo of them when they were young also came into view on her desk.

"..."

Fisher had just wanted to reach out to touch the photo when suddenly a bell rang outside the room. He blinked, knowing it must be the Inner Court Chief delivering something.

He went out to take a look, knowing anyway that the Inner Court Chief wouldn’t notice him.

But just at the moment he opened the office door, his hair stood on end instinctively, like holding ice in his hand, ready to strip all the warmth from his body.

What’s going on?

This instinct reminded him to be cautious of the situation outside, so despite being under concealed blessing, he only opened the door a small crack, observing the conditions outside.

He saw in the room the Inner Court Chief named "Dianne," previously seen, was following Elizabeth’s orders to slowly carry a tray of food into the room. It looked no different, yet as other consciousness in the vicinity faded, Dianne’s presence became completely different.

If Dianne initially gave Fisher the impression of merely a loyal attendant to Elizabeth, now she seemed like a monster cloaked in human skin...

Dianne was positioned toward the bedroom where Fisher had rested earlier; from the office, only her profile and most of her back could be seen.

He saw Dianne expressionlessly survey the room, her face immediately displaying an eerie feeling that was hard for Fisher to articulate. She silently placed the food on a nearby table, yet didn’t leave, instead beginning a more meticulous survey of the room.

Her gaze moved around, and noticing her actions, Fisher’s heartbeat began to accelerate unknowingly, a bizarre physiological response that made Fisher increasingly puzzled, as if fear, alien to himself but pervasive within, was demanding him to taste its strangeness.

But as Fisher was in a daze, Dianne’s eyes, while scrutinizing her surroundings, shifted to where he was hiding, causing his hair to stand on end once more, uncomfortably clasping the door tightly in front of him.

What’s wrong with this Dianne, why does she evoke such strange and terrifying feelings in him?

Dianne didn’t blink; upon finding nothing here, she slowly proceeded toward Elizabeth’s bedroom.

How dare the Inner Court Official trespass into Elizabeth’s bedroom like this?

Watching her silhouette slowly vanish into the hall, evidently entering the previous bedroom, Fisher’s inner doubt intensified. So he cautiously pushed open the door shielding him, moving out of the office toward the bedroom, wanting to see what Dianne was doing.

He reached the bedroom entrance, peering in from the doorway, witnessing Dianne strangely standing by Elizabeth’s bed, staring at the bedding while pondering unknown things.

"..."

Fisher scrutinized her every move, seeking more information from her, but her posture and actions seemed impeccable, enabling Fisher to discover nothing and analyze nothing.
