Rafael slips away from her duties and heads to the hot springs. Fisher is already there and enjoying the secluded pools. Rafael joins him, initially claiming she's just there to bathe, but Fisher teases her. She eventually reveals she wants him to help her clean her scales, and he complies.

This was a special duty that only a tail-matching partner could take on.

"Hmm-hmm-hmm..."

She looked utterly content, letting Fisher clean her scales, wiping those scales that clung tightly to her skin until they were smooth, while she hummed a little tune in her throat.

Seeing her so relaxed, Fisher couldn’t help relaxing as well. He gently wrapped an arm around her back, resting his hand on her still-flat little belly, as if wanting to feel the presence there, yet he only touched it like that, without using the power of his soul.

"...The baby won’t even have a shape until two months later."

"That’s a bit faster than a Human’s."

"He’ll be a Dragon-man Species, I can feel it."

"Yeah..."

The main traits of a Mixed Blood generally follow the mother’s side, and strictly speaking, mixed-blood creatures can actually be classified by race, they just simultaneously possess traits of both races.

Take the Sardinia Female Country people of the Northern Realm for example: the original Sardinia Female Country people were the mixed blood of Troll Species and Humans, and it had to be the union of a Human mother and a Troll father. Only then would the child born be primarily Human-shaped rather than a Troll, while still possessing the trait of Yin Yang Inversion.

The Sardinia Female Country people born in this way were still Humans rather than Trolls, and after several generations of such mixed blood and intermarriage, the Sardinia Female Country people in the historical sense came into being.

By the same logic, the child Rafael bore would also be a Dragon-man Species with certain Human traits.

"But the way you talked to Moli earlier, I thought tonight you were just going to follow the schedule and call it a day. I didn’t expect you’d still come over."

Hearing Fisher say that, Rafael, who had been thoroughly enjoying herself, showed a rather awkward expression, because that really had been her original plan; in the end she couldn’t resist and came over to sneak a taste.

"..."

Seeing her suddenly fall silent, even her body stiffening a little, Fisher raised his brows, half exasperated,

"Wait, don’t tell me you..."

"You’re so annoying, Fisher."

Before he could finish, Rafael turned her head over in a domineering way. She puffed out her cheeks, displeased, and gently twined her tail around Fisher’s waist from behind, pulling him closer to her bit by bit as she used to. Then she couldn’t wait to reach out and cup Fisher’s face, pressing her lips to his, blocking out everything he was about to say.

"Mwah!"

The water in the hot spring rippled softly, and Fisher, offering no resistance at all, leaned back against the stone wall that reached up to his back, wrapping his arms around her back.

Only after a long while did their lips part. Rafael, a little dazed, pulled back slightly, gazing at Fisher in front of her with intoxicated eyes as she said,

"I did sneak over, but I don’t care. You said it in the carriage earlier, remember? That once we got back, we’d do it."

"I also said it wouldn’t be good for the baby..."

"Splash!"

Her tail slapped the warm spring water in displeasure, clearly rejecting Fisher’s answer.

And at this point, Fisher obviously couldn’t dodge anymore, nor could he refuse...

Yet before that, he couldn’t help recalling those three extremely harmonious wives on the Keken Ship. As a true Nali Gentleman, perhaps he still harbored a few impractical fantasies.

So he asked,

"Wait, then what you said this morning..."

Rafael puffed out her cheeks again, not wanting to talk about that for the time being, merely winding her tail tighter and tighter around him to keep him from escaping or speaking.

Well, looked like there was no running away.

"Creak..."

Yet just as heaven’s Thunder was about to ignite earth’s fire, right before Fisher was ready to sacrifice himself for the cause, in this enclosed hot spring, amid the swirling mist, a faint, cautious sound of a lock turning and a door opening rang out in quick succession.

To two beings who had both stepped into the Mythical Rank, such a sound was extremely distinct, practically like thunder.

That imaginary thunder made Rafael’s and Fisher’s bodies in the hot spring go rigid at once. The two of them fell silent together, staring blankly toward the doorway, toward that direction veiled in mist where they couldn’t see clearly...

The next second, a soft, cautious call came from there,

"Mr. Fischer?"
