Fisher makes a deal with a mental manifestation of Cupid to stabilize his mutating body. Moli arrives, having found the base, and Fisher and Elliog cover up their recent intimate activities by claiming they were researching tactics.

"Hehe, actually I just touched it lightly and it opened... Also, my name is Moli, Elliog Demon."

Elliog nodded, because earlier she had heard Fisher calling the other’s name,

"I know, the first time I met you was at Saint Nali... Also, at that time I felt like I’d heard your name somewhere, but it was probably just an illusion. Let’s go, let’s take a look at what that base is all about..."

"..."

When Moli brought Fisher and Elliog downstairs, they happened to see Sidi leaning against the door frame. He glanced at Elliog and then just smiled slightly, without saying anything else.

The current Elliog was visibly refreshed, not needing him to use his ability to gauge, and only Moli, who had just shed her fledgling status, failed to notice.

As for the Death Lord and Emhardt, they were standing before that "Fisher’s Giant Sleeping Portrait," but compared to earlier, an unknown method had opened a neat-edged, human-width circular hole in the floor.

This hole led directly to beneath the ground, and even though they had just come down, they could feel a horrifying aura continuously seeping out from the hole.

Emhardt narrowed his eyes at Fisher, then suspiciously flew back to his shoulder, sizing him up, he glanced at Moli and Elliog, leaned in close to Fisher’s ear and whispered,

"Seriously? You did it in such a short time? You really leave me dumbfounded!"

Emhardt, being familiar with Fisher, saw through the situation almost instantly, and his voice quivered slightly,

"Are you crazy? This is Paimon’s lair! You and Moli did it in Elliog’s castle, and now you dare to bring it to her house. Considering your relationship with her, you’re really bold. Aren’t you afraid..."

"Are you scared?"

"I..." Emhardt was suddenly stumped, and then his already red cover got even redder, with golden letters starting to emit from his mouth, "Scared of what? You’re the one doing bad things, not me! I think you’ve spent too long with Paimon and think she’s harmless. Just you wait!"

This guy, though he always had something to say about Helair, even blaming him for getting wet in the rain, now at this critical moment, he dared not utter a single word.

Thinking of Helair, Fisher’s expression briefly froze, but he quickly returned to normal, looking towards the open hole, and the crimson mist slowly escaping from it.

This aura...

It’s indeed the base.

"Earlier, I sensed that thing was below us, so I searched for a long time until I discovered a secret compartment behind a painting. I used that to open this hole."

Fisher frowned and asked Moli which painting she was talking about. Moli turned to look for it, but it was the Death Lord, standing far from the hole, who handed it to him—Holan had just been examining the painting.

Handing it to Fisher, he added,

"Besides the secret compartment, there’s a note left by the Demon God Paimon, but I can’t understand what language it’s in."

"A note?"

Fisher glanced at the Death Lord, not understanding why he was so far from the hole, then looked at the painting in his hand, which depicted a scene he couldn’t comprehend at all.

At the top, he saw a gentle-faced, strange-looking... statue of a person?

The statue was entirely wooden, with one hand raised, forming a peculiar hand gesture while sitting on a lotus. It was dressed in a golden-purple embroidered robe, looking down on Fisher from above.

And above the statue, there was text in an Otherworld language, in square characters, similar to those of the Demi-human girl control group?

It read: "Buddha"

Fisher frowned, not understanding the meaning of the scene, and turned it over. This painting, unlike any other left by Helair, had no title but had a magic-activated secret compartment, seemingly the same magic that opened the hole hosting the base.

The magic was not of the demons but rather the most orthodox human magic, yet its level was unfathomable, unlikely left by Helair. Otherwise, with Fisher’s knowledge of magic, he wouldn’t have failed to sense this magic when he first arrived.

Beneath the magic, Helair had personally penned a sentence in angelic script – the note the Death Lord mentioned,

"You’ve finally come to reclaim what’s yours."

"..."

Thanks to the translating artifact, Fisher could understand the writing above, and so could Emhardt. But because of his fear of Helair, he dared not even look at the painting, so before he and Elliog came down, Moli and the Death Lord likely couldn’t read what it meant.

Fisher read out the sentence, and Moli spoke out in surprise,

"Wait, Mr. Fisher, was this base originally yours?"

"...How could it be, it’s formed by the entire Phoenix Species due to the existence of Spirit Realm Pollution. But I did have a past connection with it, or perhaps Helair hoped I’d remove the base, so he left that note?"
