Who will Vilari ally with next?
Previously on Defiance of the Fall...
Vilari discovers her alter ego, Whydah, has possessed her body. Whydah reveals a history of manipulation by Jalach and claims to be the true inheritor of the Beseechment Pavilion's power. After a fierce spiritual battle, an ancient turtle intervenes, destroying the Epiclesis Bell and seemingly defeating Jalach. However, a sliver of Jalach's consciousness survives, and Whydah begins to recover, leaving Vilari in a precarious state until a new, powerful presence arrives.
