Following a battle, the injured mutants and Magneto are taken in by the Rebirth Alliance. Wanda, deeply shaken, questions Jarvis and then Magneto about a way to deal with the Sentinel Robots, which she sees as an existential threat to mutants. Magneto speaks of fate and the inherent powerlessness of mutants against this threat, but Wanda refuses to accept defeat, contemplating an assault on cosmic entities that might control the universe's rules.

"Don’t act recklessly." Magneto still had to remind Wanda. "What you’re thinking about is dangerous even as a thought, let alone putting it into action. Be sure to think it through before you take any steps."

"You don’t understand me." Wanda lowered her gaze. "Or perhaps my others’ emotional and impulsive actions have left you with a deep-rooted impression that I would just charge in regardless. But in truth, I have ample time to think. I can find the answer."

"How do you know your answer is the right one?"

"I adhere to one principle," Wanda paused and then said, "always do what your enemy doesn’t want you to do."

"What do you plan to do?" Magneto asked her with a frown.

"I don’t know if it will work, but I plan to try." Wanda looked up at Magneto and said, "But I need your help. It’s not a difficult task, just requires a little favor."

Half an hour later, Magneto crossed his arms, leaned against the window, and looked at Thor, saying: "When the mutated fish invaded before, you said you didn’t pay attention. What’s going on this time? Why did the Court of Owls come up with these Sentinel Robots?"

Thor opened his mouth, instinctively touched his cheek, and then said, "Sorry, this time it really is my fault. But you have to understand, Loki suddenly appeared in the cosmos, and I’m worried he’ll cause a big disaster again..."

"So you weren’t in the Nine Major Kingdoms before?"

Thor nodded: "Because I found Loki was active in the cosmos, other things were fine, but I’m just worried he’d run into Darkseid, so I had to go find him."

"What is he doing in the cosmos?"

Thor shook his head, unsure: "I suspect he wants to provoke a war between the Lantern Corps and Darkseid. He just loves doing these kinds of instigating things."

"Let’s not talk about that now," Magneto said, "the new Sentinels, produced by the Court of Owls, almost killed several of us. What do you plan to do?"

"I will heal them, and then I’ll go to have a talk with those Owls." Thor clenched his fist. He didn’t ignore the mutants because they weren’t part of the Rebirth Alliance. In his view, mutants and regular humans were both human beings, and even as a last resort, they were citizens of the Nine Major Kingdoms. Being attacked naturally warranted protection.

"I suspect, they might have obtained the Mother Module." Magneto said with a tightly furrowed brow, somewhat worried. "That Sentinel Robot injected with the Extremis Virus is a production model, so if they start a production line to manufacture on a large scale, mutants will face a dreadful carnage."

"Don’t worry, absolutely not!" Thor stood up, saying: "I’ll go find out now. If I discover anything suspicious, I’ll smash it directly and never give them a chance to produce such evil weapons!"

"Be careful," Magneto cautioned, "I know they can’t confront you head-on, but they’re really good at playing tricks."

"Got it," Thor waved his hand, saying, "I’m going to take them on now."

Watching Thor’s retreating figure, Magneto thought to himself: The Court of Owls and the Sentinels might not hold Thor off for long. It would be better to take this opportunity to drag more people into the water, thus giving Wanda the time she needs.

He stood up and called out to the outside: "Someone come."

Soon, Mystique entered. Magneto asked her, "Do you still have contact with the Assassin’s Union we approached last time?"

Mystique slightly furrowed her brow: "Those people work sluggishly, only wanting us to do things for them without mentioning any benefit, so I haven’t met them again."

"Go and find them," Magneto said, stroking his fingers, "tell them the mutants are in trouble. If they’re willing to lend a hand, we can do something for them."

Mystique said, somewhat puzzled: "Those people aren’t sincerely looking to collaborate. Moreover, the Brotherhood hasn’t reached the point of needing to seek help from them."

"Do you think they’ll help us?" Magneto lowered his gaze, saying, "Ra’s al Ghul isn’t that foolish; he prefers to hedge his bets, helping the Court of Owls manufacture Sentinels to deal with us on one hand, while manipulating mutants to weaken the Court of Owls on the other. That way he stands to gain the most."

"And you still want to cooperate with him?"

"Even villains have their uses," Magneto said in a low tone, "as long as he chooses to get involved in this matter, he can’t escape."

Mystique nodded, saying: "I’ll handle it right away."

"Wait," Magneto called her again, "who is responsible for liaising with Hydra at the American Headquarters?"

"It’s me too," Mystique said, "but they’ve suffered losses from the Court of Owls before and have been out of contact for a long time."

"Find a way to wake them up," Magneto said, "let them know about the Court of Owls manufacturing super weapons, and if necessary, disguise and sneak in, disrupt the situation."

Mystique nodded again and said: "Alright, I’ll get on it."

After Mystique left the room, she transformed her appearance while walking, quickly turning into a plain-looking black-haired woman. Obviously, this is the image she uses for contacts.

She took out her phone and dialed a number, the voice on the other end was also a deep female voice: "This is Talya, anything?"

"Hello, ma’am, the mutants want to have a word with you, do you have a moment?"

The heavy steel doors opened, and a fully armed squadron lined up in sequence. A group of people in suits and ties came forward, and at the center of the newly entered group, a woman in an elegant yet sexy golden dress extended her hand and shook hands with the middle-aged man leading the other group.

"Selina Kyle," she said, "the new head of the Northern Base, just came over from Latin America."

"I’ve heard a lot about you." The man shook Selina’s hand firmly, "How’s Gonzalez doing? And Awen?"

"No need to test me," Selina gave a cold smile, "nearly all our forces in Mexico have been wiped out by the Assassin’s Union, which you are well aware of. If the American Headquarters wasn’t in such a precarious situation, you wouldn’t be in such a hurry to bring me back."

The man’s face showed an embarrassed expression. Selina slightly raised her head and continued, "First it was the Court of Owls, then the Assassin’s Union, we haven’t gained any advantage. Instead, we’ve been repeatedly decapitated. You must be afraid of getting assassinated in your dreams, right? So scared you can’t sleep?"

The man’s face grew increasingly unpleasant, but Selina paid him no mind and then said, "Alright, since you trust my abilities, let’s begin. First, find someone to contact the Court of Owls, I have a few matters to discuss with them."

The man frowned. Selina’s tone grew cold, "If you don’t look at the intelligence, at least keep up with the news? The Owl’s Talons and some unknown super robot attacked the cathedral, and had a massive fight with the mutants, even gaining the upper hand, and you don’t know this?"

"Of course, I know," the man wiped his sweat, "those guys got some machines from who knows where, really hit the jackpot..."

"No wonder you’re no match for the Court of Owls," Selina’s tone was full of contempt, "they didn’t hit the jackpot; it was all premeditated. But well, we should be joining forces against those superheroes anyway. If we can’t deal with the Rebirth Alliance, no one is getting any benefits."

"You want to team up with the Court of Owls???" The man’s tone was filled with disbelief, "But they almost brought us down!"

"So what. The Court of Owls members are all high-ranked wealthy people; if they want things done, they still need people on the ground. Hydra’s members are all over Earth. As long as we’re willing to cooperate, they are sure to agree."

"But... they can handle the mutants, but we might not be able to." The man seemed troubled, "That Erik Lehnsherr hates everything related to the NAZI, crazily hunted our members before, we simply can’t beat him."

"Didn’t the Court of Owls create robots?" Selina rolled her eyes slightly, "All we need to do is stir up the conflict between the Court of Owls and the mutants from behind... Never mind, you wouldn’t understand these things, go and bring the contact person."

The man felt a bit stifled, but obviously, the recent pressure was too much, so he cared more about his own life. He turned around and left with his people, and shortly after, the contact person walked in.

"How’s the Court’s current situation?" Selina asked.

"Not bad. You must have heard about the attack at the cathedral, but that’s just the beginning, the Court will soon make more moves."

"Oh? What moves?"

"Can’t say yet," the contact person said with a hint of arrogance.

Selina merely smiled and said, "Apart from dealing with the mutants, what you’re most concerned about should be the joint operations of the three major groups. Tell me, how do you plan on sabotaging their joint plans?"

"I can’t tell you that, but if you are willing to participate, the Court is willing to give you an opportunity."

A strange light flashed in Selina’s eyes, "It seems you have everything well planned; frankly, I do want to cooperate."

In a dim secret chamber, a person wearing an Owl Mask sat high above, staring down at a young man.

"You say you are Bruce Wayne from another universe?"

"That’s right," Bruce nodded and said, "To be honest, I come from an inverted universe."

"Inverted Universe?"

"Evil becomes good, rich becomes poor; the situation in my universe is the opposite of this one. In my universe, Bruce Wayne is not a billionaire, but a poor guy, and not any sort of justice superhero. Although I don’t consider myself evil, I’m certainly not wasting time on the streets fighting crime."

"What do you want from us?"

"To replace this universe’s Bruce," Bruce sneered, "How can that fool deserve such a life? Why is he a billionaire and I’m just a nobody?"

Murmurs arose from the seats, and Bruce continued, "I’m here for this task. Bruce Wayne is just an ordinary man. Once he’s dead, I can easily take his place, and apart from the money, I want nothing; it’s all yours."

Countless eyes converged on Bruce, seeming to assess if he had such abilities. Undoubtedly, the answer was satisfactory. Bruce was young enough, not much different from this universe’s Bruce Wayne, and his undisguised antisocial demeanor proved he wasn’t a justice hero like Spider-Man.

"Let me join the Court of Owls; aside from Wayne Enterprises, we can rule this world together," Bruce said, "Again, I only want a life of luxury. I don’t care what the world is like. As long as you can give me what I want, you can do whatever you please."

The room fell silent for a moment, then an elderly voice spoke up, "Prove your loyalty to us."

"That’s simple." Bruce chuckled lightly, "I don’t have superpowers and can’t disguise as Spider-Man; the best way is to ensure he doesn’t—I’ll bring him down."
