Clark spoke with Magneto, who revealed that Clark had saved two young mutants without realizing it. Magneto shared his bleak outlook on the fate of mutants, foreseeing their constant destruction and rebirth. As Clark pondered Magneto's words, assassins from the Court of Owls attacked his parents, but Magneto intervened, dispatching one attacker in a gruesome display.

The assassin standing on the ground was a Talon sent by the Court of Owls. Clark understood this because the Rebirth Alliance had also been combating these organizations. They were the chronic disease of Gotham, lurking in the shadows that accompanied the city’s fusion, and had orchestrated several atrocious crimes.

When the situation was still unstable, these hidden organizations burst into action, causing a series of cases that even S.H.I.E.L.D. found troublesome. If it weren’t for the losses suffered in battles against Hydra, the Court of Owls wouldn’t have been lying low for so long.

The Court of Owls actually made their move at this time, and their target was his parents. Clark couldn’t help but feel a chill; he had just been lost in his thoughts for too long, and if it weren’t for Magneto’s quick reaction, a Talon might have slit Martha’s throat.

A gust of wind blew, and Magneto turned his head sharply, as if sensing something. He turned to Clark and said:

"Get out of here! Quickly!"

Clark wanted to say something, but he was even more worried about his parents’ safety. He flew away with his parents immediately, rushing to the Rebirth Alliance Headquarters. After setting them down, he hurried into the office.

"Agent Carter! The church is under attack!"

Carter jumped up instantly.

"Who?!"

"Talons from the Court of Owls, but there might be others." Clark said, Magneto’s final reaction wasn’t like he’d seen just a bunch of low-level killer tools.

"Are you okay?" Carter first looked at him, knowing that Clark was injured and his combat power might not be very strong.

"They attacked my parents, but thankfully Magneto was there." Clark briefly explained, then said, "I suspect they’re targeting mutants."

Magneto had just spoken to him about the turbulent fate of mutants, making it hard for Clark not to associate this as a sign that mutants are about to fall into the abyss once more, and he and his parents were just inadvertently dragged into it.

But he couldn’t be sure, as he realized that if it was about targeting mutants, they wouldn’t straightforwardly attempt to kill his parents. He, too, had once played a significant role in wars against the Court of Owls, so the attackers might be seeking revenge.

Clark’s mind was a tangle of confusion, and he said:

"Quickly call for reinforcements; I’ll go check it out first."

"Wait!" Carter hurriedly stopped him, "You’re injured, don’t go by yourself. I’ll call Diana."

Soon, Diana appeared by the window, looking serious as she said:

"What’s going on? Why is there a fight at the church?!"

"Never mind talking," Clark said. "Go check quickly; I’m afraid there’s danger for Magneto and the others!"

As he spoke, he flew out of the window, with Diana following him, yet she still glanced at Clark somewhat amazed. She knew Clark didn’t quite like mutants and had privately complained about them. How come his attitude had changed so dramatically after not seeing him for a while?

They flew above the church with the greatest speed, and before landing, heard a loud noise. With a bang, half of the main church’s spire was blown away. Staggeringly rising from the dust was none other than Magneto.

Clark was stunned; no one didn’t know how powerful Magneto was. His forte was manipulating magnetic fields, so how had he been hit?

Clark looked towards the other side of Magneto and saw a very tall and strong figure standing there. It was clad in silver-white armor, with its head completely covered, only revealing a pair of sinister blood-red eyes. Each of its arms had enormous blades, and at that moment, it leaped high, slashing towards Magneto.

Without thinking, Clark rushed over and used his arm to block the mighty creature’s slash. A clang resonated, as the sharp blade collided with the Man of Steel, leaving a shallow mark on Clark’s skin. He grunted, and Diana followed, throwing the Lasso of Truth, binding the creature and pulling it back.

Magneto climbed up from the ground, clutching his right shoulder, where there was a deep scar, and he said in a low voice:

"Sentinel... a new type of Sentinel robot, made by the Court of Owls, be careful you two."

Neither Clark nor Diana knew what the Sentinel was, but for Magneto to warn them with such a tone, it must be formidable. Yet Clark had no time to think more as Diana’s Lasso of Truth couldn’t hold it; instead, the creature flung Diana away.

Clark gritted his teeth and charged straight at the creature, hugging its waist and slamming it to the ground. With a boom, the ground had a big pit smashed into it. Clark swung his fist, pummeling away.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

With a few full-force punches, the creature’s head was smashed to a pulp. Clark, breathing heavily, slowly stood up from the ground. After his excited nerves slightly calmed down, he realized his chest was aching faintly.

Looking down, he saw the wound had burst open, with blood gushing out. Clark ignored the pain, wanting to check on Diana, but just as he turned, a massive blade hacked down on his shoulder. Unprepared, Clark was sent flying.

Getting back up, he felt intense pain radiating from his shoulder. He reached to touch it, looking incredulously at the fresh red on his fingertip. The creature’s blade could actually cut his skin.

Although the wound wasn’t large or deep, just a small cut, it was still shocking. As the pain surged, Clark’s features scrunched up, but he endured it and charged at the creature again.

"Don’t go!" Magneto used a magnetic chain to pull him back, pulling him away, "Its self-repair speed is fast; you can’t hurt it!"

Clark was tugged back, aggravating the wound’s pain. He held his chest and stared at the creature, feeling a bit familiar. Suddenly, his eyes widened.

"Symbiotic battle armor?!"

Magneto looked at him, and Clark said:

"Don’t you think this thing looks a bit like Iron Man?!"

Magneto was taken aback. In his stereotypical image of Iron Man, he was clad in gold and red. However, he immediately recalled that during the period before the Civil War, Iron Man often wore a silver and white armor, which indeed bore some resemblance to this monster in terms of color and form.

Meanwhile, in Diana’s mind, a series of images flashed suddenly: first, Iron Man in a silver-white symbiotic battle armor; then this silver-white monster; first the monster’s blood-red eyes, then the red eyes of those fish, and finally, the monster’s incredibly rapid recovery speed.

Diana was stunned, standing there in a shock, and then she said:

"...Extremis Virus!"

Magneto looked at her, and Diana said:

"Could this thing have been injected with the Extremis Virus?!"

Magneto’s face darkened, and he uttered a name:

"Tony Stark."

Among the Sentinels, there was one model called Stark Sentinel, a weapon specifically designed to target mutants, created when Tony Stark was under control. Although the mutants eventually triumphed over these Sentinels, they suffered significant losses.

"But, that’s not right," Clark said, "the symbiotic battle armor has already been destroyed. Iron Man himself doesn’t even have it to wear, so how could..."

"The symbiotes are a very cunning species," Magneto explained, "their form of existence makes them easily able to escape. Even if they’ve been made into battle armor, they may not be completely obliterated."

Diana couldn’t help but hold her head: This means that the monster is likely the symbiotic battle armor that escaped, took the Extremis Virus with it, and somehow ended up with the Court of Owls, transformed into a Sentinel Robot, and came here to attack the church.

Magneto took a deep breath, slowly raising one hand, and several dark shadows descended from the sky, the Brotherhood of Mutants had arrived.

Clark still wanted to join the fray, and Diana quickly stopped him:

"You can’t fight anymore, be careful of your wounds."

In a hurry, Clark ignored the pain, eager to join the mutant battle against the Sentinels. Diana had to find him something else to do:

"Go find Peter Parker."

"The one with magic." Diana emphasized, "The mutants are being too heavily countered here, we need someone else to break the stalemate, go quickly!"

As Clark looked back at the battle, he flew away. Diana put away the Lasso of Truth and took out her shield. Observing the situation on the field, she found that the mutants were indeed not a match for this thing.

For some reason, when facing this monster, the mutants’ world-destroying formidable powers seemed to be restrained. Not only could Magneto not transform into a magnetic field to become immune to attacks, but the abilities of the other Brotherhood members were also not effective, making the scene terribly dire.

As the Sentinels pressed their attack, Diana quickly raised her shield to block. Her arm covered in divine power, she slammed her fist down, narrowly forcing the Sentinel Robot to retreat. She let out a sigh of relief; it only suppressed mutants, otherwise, it would be troublesome.

Upon hearing about the church attack, the Rebirth Alliance rushed to the scene quickly, with former Justice League members arriving one after another. First was the powerful Martian Manhunter; he descended from the sky, delivering a punch to the back of the Sentinel Robot, directly cracking open its back armor. However, the robot’s armor seemed to be liquid; the crack instantly healed.

Next was Arthur, who raised his trident to summon seawater, restricting the Sentinel Robot’s movements. While Green Lantern Hal first observed from above, and once the Sentinel Robot was restrained, he quickly constructed a sword with green lantern energy and skimmed low to stab it into the Sentinel Robot’s chest.

Although the Sentinel Robot could heal quickly, it couldn’t digest the green lantern energy, and the liquid metal couldn’t expel this special energy. With the sword lodged in its chest, its movements noticeably slowed down.

But they lacked a decisive method; the fight was simply to pin down the Sentinel Robot. At that moment, Scarlet Witch arrived faster than Peter Parker.

The cathedral happened to be in the city center, conveniently located near a large shopping mall and restaurants. Wanda was out shopping with Aisha when she noticed the commotion and quickly flew over with Aisha.

Aisha didn’t care what they were fighting; she went in with a headbutt and a bite on the Sentinel Robot. The bite was mighty, piercing the Sentinel Robot’s shoulder armor, but it quickly healed.

That did have a downside, though; as soon as Hal saw her, he dropped down in a flash.

Looking at the battlefield, Wanda felt a bit bewildered, thinking it was mutants versus the Justice League at first glance. But soon she locked onto the one being besieged.

She opened her mouth to use the power of word spirit, but after a moment, she descended, extending her hand as the power of Scarlet swept out. Strangely enough, upon contacting the robot, the power of Scarlet diminished significantly. Wanda couldn’t help but widen her eyes.

It was her first time seeing something that could restrain her powers.

"What is this damn thing?!"

However, Wanda had a solution; she just took out her phone on the spot.

"Hello? Jarvis, I’ve run into some trouble; a strange robot is attacking the church, and my abilities are being countered... Okay, I’ll wait for you."

Soon, Jarvis’s figure appeared on the horizon. As soon as he landed, the robot’s movements stalled. The data gleamed silver-white in Jarvis’s eyes as he seemed to be querying something.

"A creation of Stark Group," Jarvis said, "it’s not purely a technological product, more like a symbiont — go find Iron Man!"

Quicksilver flashed, and the next second, a bewildered-looking Iron Man was brought to the scene. He still had a brace on his neck, looking drowsy as if he had just woken up.

Seeing the robot on the field, he was more shocked than anyone.

"Symbiotic Battle Armor?!!!"
