D.E.M.O.N.S: Getting Summoned Weekly isn't so Bad Chapter 2065 Imprisoned Flower Part 1
Kat ---
Kat and Lily had snuck Sam over the hedge and planned to leave him with Hedera. The map he provided wasn’t the best... but it was mostly just marking which greenhouses were meant to have prisons, and mentioning the few that were meant to be for more high security prisoners. Which didn’t remove the potential for Appoline to be in the main building, but it was nice to have a handful to check instead of the two dozen or more that they would’ve needed to look through otherwise.
As nice as this was though... the sun was going to be peaking above the horizon soon. Perhaps the city wouldn’t turn the lights on until a bit later, but Kat and Lily were pretty sure it was all automatic so it was an empty hope. What this meant, was that while they had less to search they also didn’t have much time to do it. "Ok, so, do you think it’s more likely she’s in the ultra-secure cells, or the secure but kinda nice cells?" asked Kat.
Sam shrugged, "Depends. You said it was an internal matter? Then they either want her in the nicest cell, which is in the main house, or they want her in the most secure,"
"We’ve been reliably informed they probably don’t have her in the main house," Kat countered.
Sam shrugged again, "Look, I can’t tell you much more. I don’t know how these lot think. Maybe they want her more cooperative? Maybe they just want her out of the way?"
"The second I think," said Kat. "From my understanding they didn’t want to risk anyone having her on their side."
Sam slowly nodded, "And they didn’t kill her?"
"From what we know," confirmed Kat.
"Alright then they’ll be in the most secure cell. The question for you... is if it’s still the same one I designed. If it is? It’ll be around the middle of the opposite side of the compound. You remember that one?" asked Sam. Kat nodded. "Then head for that. If she’s not there, pivot up two and left one, then go for the central house."
"Alright," Kat agreed before turning her gaze upwards. "And you’re still good with all this Hedera?"
"Yup. Though if you want to keep this guy safe, it’d probably be best for me to just escort him away. It means no backup for you though," commented Hedera.
"I don’t really know who I’d turn to, or where I’d feel safe. Even if technically I’m in more danger here I’d really like to argue for remaining involved for my own sanity and safety," commented Sam.
"You can hardly walk," grumbled Hedera. "If we need to run I’m probably going to have to carry you. It really isn’t safe, and if I have to drop you to escape I will." Sam just nodded, clearly thinking that was all acceptable in his mind.
Kat was a little less sure... and made a mental note to either come and help with his escape, send Lily to do so, or make sure that extracting Appoline was so loud and obvious that they’d have no choice but to follow after that group. *
Conceded Kat before the pair ascended up into the air. It wasn’t the best plan, and the risk of being spotted against the roof as it lightened up was there, but they knew were they were going. A fixed destination, and one that was on the other side of the main house. It was probably fine to fly for a bit. There was still the risk of being spotted on the ground after all, and the night wasn’t going to remain so dark for long. If they took forever walking across then they’d be in a worse position.
Once above the greenhouse, Kat dispersed into water and floated down to the greenhouse. The original plan was to reform once she was near to the ground and get a better look at the defences but that plan was cut off before it could begin. Two people were leaning against the outside of the greenhouse. The first was pretending to smoke. Perhaps there was an illusion over the pipe to make it seem like smoke or something else was coming out of it, but Kat could see that it was just an empty pipe. Didn’t even have anything inside of it.
On the other side, was someone pretending to be asleep. They were leaning against the wall and doing a great job of keeping up the act. In fact, if not for the guy on the other side pretending to smoke, Kat would’ve guessed he was actually asleep. The armour didn’t help him seem unaware of things either. *
Kat waited until Lily got closer and confirmed by looking through her girlfriend’s eyes that there were more people inside. Lily could only see two... but they’d already proven that illusions were setup around the area and Kat was too spread out to see in through the glass. She also couldn’t sneak inside because they still had those humidity enchantments keeping her out.
Kat carefully started to shift her body away from the two. Perhaps she’d already been noticed in her mist form but none had reacted so far. Still... just to be safe. Kat made sure to move most mist away but kept a little bit hanging around the hands of both guards. It wasn’t really enough to see with, there was barely any water under her control. What it would tell her, at least until she transformed again, was if they moved their hands. Perhaps she could catch them trying to call something in.
