Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off Chapter 881: Out of the Frying Pan and Into the Fire

Manis was so terrified that tears immediately welled up in his big, soft eyes. He was completely trapped under her weight! In total despair, he opened his mouth and screamed at the top of his lungs: "HELP! SOMEONE SAVE ME! HELP!"

Baibai was completely stunned by his reaction. She stared down at him, scratching her head in disbelief. "Why are you shouting for help?! You’re a male! Aren’t you supposed to be a man?!"

Manis didn’t care about being a man! At this rate, if crying and begging for help would save his innocent life, he would do it without a second thought!

Baibai leaned down, her face closing in to forcefully kiss his trembling lips. Manis shut his eyes tight, clenching his fists so hard his knuckles turned white, praying for a miracle. If I can’t see it, it’s not happening!

Just as her face was inches away, a tall shadow suddenly fell over both of them.

"Baibai!" a cold, chilling voice boomed through the air. "You are getting more and more daring by the day! How dare you try to force a young beastman in broad daylight?!"

The chubby female froze mid-air.

She turned her head around and let out a nervous, guilty chuckle. "Oh... so it’s Sister Muyu! Hehe... if I can’t force him in broad daylight, would it be fine if I do it at night instead?"

Lin Muyu looked down at the terrified young merman beneath Baibai. Manis was squeezing his eyes shut so hard his face was contorting, completely terrified.

Lin Muyu’s face darkened instantly. She reached down, grabbed Baibai by the back of her neck like a naughty puppy, and yanked her right off of Manis!

SMACK!

Sister Muyu immediately gave Baibai a hard smack on the back of her head!

"Who taught you such terrible behavior?!" Lin Muyu scolded angrily. "Is this how you treat young beastmen?! Aren’t you afraid of getting spitted by everyone?!"

Baibai rubbed her smarting head, pouting her lips in utter confusion. "Sister, what is wrong with it?! He’s so handsome! If I don’t catch him now, someone else will!"

Meanwhile, Manis quickly opened one eye. Seeing that the scary female had been pulled off him, he scrambled back onto his feet like a frightened rabbit.

Lin Muyu stood there, rendered thoroughly speechless by the sheer impudence of the chubby female beastman. She slapped Baibai across the shoulders and glared down at her.

"Should I go and call your mother right now and tell her what you are doing here?!" Lin Muyu scolded sternly.

"Who on earth taught you to force your way with a male?! Don’t you know that forced melons are never sweet?!"

Baibai rubbed her stinging back, but her eyes were still glued onto the young, frightened merman like he was a piece of mouth-watering candy.

"But Sister Muyu," Baibai pouted, "it is still a melon! And who doesn’t like melon?"

Lin Muyu rolled her eyes at her absurdity. She turned her head slightly to look at the terrified young merman scrambling to his feet, tears glistening in his big, watery eyes.

Looking closely at his handsome face, Lin Muyu suddenly recognized him.

Wait, isn’t he the same young man who was peeking at me earlier? He’s Lan Yue’s brother-in-law, the merman from the island!

Lin Muyu turned back to Baibai, her expression darkening into a menacing glare. "If I ever catch you doing something like this again, I am definitely reporting you to the City Lord! You’ll be kicked right out of Dragon Beast City! Then you can go outside the gates and beg from the wild males outside."

Lin Muyu stepped closer, her voice dropping into a chilling threat. "I heard the wild males out there are extremely dangerous. They will all bully you, and no one will protect you. And if you are even more unlucky, you might get caught by a ferocious wild beast who will devour you in one single bite!"

Hearing those terrifying words, Baibai went pale with fright. She immediately bowed nervously, waving her chubby hands in panic.

"Sister Muyu! Please don’t report me to the City Lord! I would never do something like that again! I wasn’t really going to force him; I was just scaring him a little! Besides, he didn’t even let me kiss him, so I didn’t actually do anything to him! You can’t report me!"

Lin Muyu snorted coldly, pointing down the path. "Go! Get out of here right now! If you utter another word, I will go to the City Lord immediately!"

Baibai froze, startled by her firm tone. Knowing she was wrong, she quickly scooped up two fallen fruits from the ground and sprinted away as fast as her short legs could carry her!

Lin Muyu turned around to look at Manis. Tears were still hanging on his long eyelashes, his face pale and weeping from the scare. She shook her head and walked toward him.

Seeing her approach, Manis flinched in fright, instinctively taking a step backward.

Lin Muyu stopped and looked at him in disbelief. "You are such a big, grown young man... yet you couldn’t even protect yourself against a female half your size?"

Manis was stunned by her question. He blinked his tear-filled eyes, suddenly realizing that she was actually right. But he quickly pressed his lips together, feeling aggrieved.

"B-But... I have been taught since I was small to never touch a female who isn’t related to me, let alone beat one!" Manis stammered softly, looking wronged. "I couldn’t possibly hit a female, right?"

Lin Muyu stood there, utterly amazed by his dumb logic. "So it really is true that you are just a timid, poor thing."

Manis immediately pressed his lips into a tight line, suppressing his protest.

Lin Muyu let out a heavy snort. What a dumbhead! Giving him a dramatic eye-roll, she turned on her heel and began walking away.

Seeing his savior leave, Manis quickly snapped out of his trance. He hurriedly picked up his spilled fruit basket and trotted after her on his tall legs.

"Female! Female, wait! Please stop!" Manis called out.

Lin Muyu stopped and looked back over her shoulder, raising an eyebrow. "What?"

Manis caught up to her, bowing his head politely. "Thank you... thank you for saving me just now."

Lin Muyu’s sharp eyes scanned him up and down, looking at his handsome face and his tall, sleek build. A sly glint flashed across her eyes.

"And how are you planning to repay me for saving your life?" she asked smoothly.

Manis was completely stunned. He looked at her with wide, bewildered eyes, his mouth slightly open.

Seeing his blank, innocent expression, Lin Muyu suddenly thought this young merman-beastman was unexpectedly cute.

No wonder even Baibai... Who was so notoriously picky that she remained single at the age of twenty had tried to drag him home. He really was very good-looking!

A mischievous, wicked idea suddenly bloomed in Lin Muyu’s mind.

"How about... you repay me with your body?" Lin Muyu asked, her lips curling into a wicked grin.

"AH!" Manis’s eyes nearly popped out of his head!

He instantly crossed his arms tightly over his broad chest, backing away as if she were a shameless hooligan trying to assault him!
