Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off Chapter 851: The Shark Baby and the Sudden Blush

Manis finally reached the riverbank huffing and puffing, too embarrassed to even look behind him, terrified that the female demon was still hot on his heels.
When the wide, sparkling river finally came into view, he let out a massive sigh of relief. Standing near the water’s edge was his elder brother, Tang Wu!
"BROTHER!" Manis shrieked.
With tears and snot flying wildly from his face, Manis sprinted forward and threw his entire body at his brother.
Tang Wu was thoroughly stunned. His sharpest warrior instinct was to instantly kick away whatever wild creature had just launched itself at him, but he managed to stop his foot at the very last second, realizing it was his own younger brother.
Tang Wu’s brows furrowed into a deep frown as he looked down at the sobbing eighteen-year-old clinging to him like a giant leech.
"What on earth are you doing? Aren’t you embarrassed to cry like a helpless baby when you’ve grown so big?!"
Manis stiffened, quickly wiping his tear-stained face on his sleeve.
"I-I’m not crying because I’m a baby! Brother, don’t you miss me at all?! I missed you so much; that’s why my tears were flowing! Would I really cry like this otherwise?!"
He huffed indignantly, silently cursing his heartless elder brother.
Tang Wu didn’t console him at all! He had no idea what kind of horrors Manis had just survived in the woods!
"Manis? Is that you?" a sweet voice called out.
Manis’s face instantly lit up. It was Lan Yue!
"Sister-in-law!" Manis yelled, completely abandoning his brother. He lunged forward and wrapped his arms around Lan Yue, burying his face in her shoulder.
Lan Yue chuckled warmly, gently patting his broad back.
Even though Manis was much taller than her now, he was still acting like a clingy little child. "What are you crying for, foolish boy?"
"I’m not crying!" Manis sniffled, holding on tight. "I just missed all of you so much! We haven’t seen each other for almost a whole year!"
Lan Yue’s heart immediately melted. Knowing how close the two brothers were, she assumed he had simply been lonely back home in the East Sea.
Tang Wu’s expression grew darker by the second as he watched his brother cling so tightly to his female.
Unable to take it anymore, he reached over, grabbed Manis by his collar, and forcefully peeled him off Lan Yue.
"Aren’t you here to see your little nephew?" Tang Wu grunted, practically shoving him toward the water. "He’s swimming right over there."
"Oh! Right!" Manis gasped, finally remembering his main mission.
Without wasting another second, he stripped off his outer clothes, tossed them onto the riverbank, and leaped straight into the water.
Transforming into his merman form, his tail sliced gracefully through the current. He was especially eager to see the little orca cub, wondering just how massive the baby had gotten over the past year.
Moments later, Manis surfaced with a splash, carefully cradling a tiny, squirming shark baby in his arms.
Looking around the water, Manis blinked in confusion and called out to the shore, "Sister-in-law, where’s the orca baby?"
Lan Yue chuckled from the bank. "Bo Jian took him out to the deeper waters to play. Don’t worry, they’ll be back soon!"
Manis nodded understandingly. He looked down at the little shark baby in his hands and repeatedly kissed its round head.
The tiny shark baby squirmed wildly, utterly dumbfounded as to who this strange, overly enthusiastic man was and why he was gripping him so tightly.
Leaving the water, Manis shifted back and joined Tang Wu and Lan Yue on the shore.
Lan Yue pulled out a basket of delicious cooked meat and snacks, offering them to him. Manis’s eyes sparkled, and he began gulping down the food like a starved wolf.
"So, how is everyone back in the East Sea?" Lan Yue asked casually, striking up small talk. "Is your father doing well?"
"Mmmph! Yeah, he’s great!" Manis mumbled through a mouthful of food.
Lan Yue smiled warmly, a mischievous glint entering her eyes as she decided to tease him.
"What about you, Manis? You’ve already become an adult beastman now. Do you have a female you like? If there’s no female you like in the sea tribe, there are plenty of sweet females here in Dragon Beast City. Why don’t I introduce you to someone?"
COUGH!
Manis instantly choked on his food!
In that split second, the image of that fierce, wild female in the woods flashed violently through his mind... her sitting astride that lion, her soft, pale skin glowing in the sunlight, her terrifying power...
And then, to his absolute horror, his traitorous brain suddenly imagined himself lying under her instead of that lion!
Manis was so thoroughly stunned by his own insane thoughts that he swallowed an entire piece of hard meat in one huge, panicked gulp!
"GACK! ACK! COUGH!"
Manis choked violently, his entire face turning a deep, vibrant shade of crimson. His ears felt like they were literally on fire as he wheezed for air, clutching his throat.
Tang Wu rolled his eyes at his brother’s sheer stupidity and delivered a thunderous smack directly onto Manis’s back.
BAM!
The lodged piece of meat shot straight out of Manis’s mouth, landing on the grass.
Manis collapsed onto his hands and knees, tears streaming down his bright red face as he gasped for air, his mind completely traumatized by both the meat and his own scandalous imagination.
"Did you think of someone, Manis?" Lan Yue teased.
"No! But your ears are red."
Manis immediately covered his ears.
"They’re not!" Manis wanted to disappear into the river.
Lanyu laughed softly. "Looks like little brother has finally grown up."
Manis lowered his head, his face burning. He silently cursed the terrifying female who had somehow managed to appear in his mind at the worst possible moment.
He had only met her once.
Just once!
Why was he thinking about her?!
And most importantly...
Why had his imagination put him in that lion beastman’s place?
Manis nearly choked again. He was never coming back to Dragon Beast City.
