Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off Chapter 808: Who Is This Tiny Cub?!
Previously on Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off...
With the cubs racing ahead, the beast husbands immediately got to work back at the house.
Xuan Long and An Mo went inside to air out the rooms, wipe down the furniture, and sweep away the dust, while Shi Feng and Hu Yan headed out toward the forest to hunt fresh game for dinner. Han Jue helped Su Qunglan sort her items. Everyone had their hands full.
On the other path, the cubs were zipping through the beast city, looking around with wide, curious eyes.
To them, they had only been gone for less than a month, but six months had passed in the lower domain. The surrounding landscape looked so different in full spring bloom that it felt like exploring a whole new world!
Many of the local beastmen and neighbors were thrilled to spot the little ones again.
"Look! Sister Su’s cubs are back!" a neighbor cheered, waving warmly.
"Hey there, little ones!" another called out.
However, the eight cubs were like a chaotic hurricane. They zoomed right past the smiling neighbors without giving them a single glance, their tiny paws blurred.
The beastman only chuckled, completely unbothered. After all, cubs were always like that; the moment an adult tried to greet them, they would bolt as if being chased by a ghost!
Xiao Yi led the pack straight to the center of Dragon Beast City, finally skidding to a halt outside his grandmother’s house.
The very first person in the courtyard to spot them was Mo Xiao Li!
Mo Xiao Li froze in absolute shock for a brief second. Recognizing his precious nephews and nieces instantly, he let out a loud, delighted squeal and charged toward them with open arms!
Xiao Yi was just as excited. Flapping his tiny tiger wings, he hovered right into Mo Xiao Li’s chest, hugging his favorite young uncle tightly. "Uncle Xiao Li!"
The two of them giggled and squealed together in a big embrace. But after just a few seconds, Mo Xiao Li tossed the tiger cub into the air like a ragdoll.
"Alright, move aside, Xiao Yi! Let me see the others!" Mo Xiao Li laughed, diving straight past him to scoop up the rest of the tumbling cubs.
Xiao Yi landed neatly on his paws, thoroughly stunned by his uncle’s blatant betrayal. But before he could complain, his curiosity drew him toward the main gate of the inner house.
He took three steps forward and froze dead in his tracks.
Standing right in the doorway was a very, very small figure. It was an unfamiliar, tiny cub, staring up at Xiao Yi with big, droopy, sleepy eyes.
Xiao Yi blinked his golden eyes in utter bewilderment, staring right back at the little stranger.
Who on earth is this little cub?! Where did another cub come from in our house?!
Xiao Yi towered over the little stranger, his chubby tiger form practically double the size of the tiny cub standing in the doorway.
He inspected the little cub from head to toe. It was a tiny orange fox cub with big, droopy eyes and a fluffy little tail.
Xiao Yi’s tiger ears twitched in total confusion.
Whose cub was this? What was an orange fox doing in their grandma’s house? He and his brothers and sisters were supposed to be the only cubs around here!
Did Grandma go out and get another cub while they were away in the Upper Domain?!
The little fox cub seemed equally confused. It tilted its tiny head to one side, blinking slowly at the enormous tiger standing before it. Its ears drooped even lower as it cautiously took one tiny step backward.
Xiao Yi leaned forward.
The fox leaned backward.
Xiao Yi leaned forward again.
The fox immediately hid half of its face behind the doorframe.
Xiao Yi’s eyes widened.
Was this little thing afraid of him?!
He glanced down at his own enormous paws before looking back at the trembling fox. He suddenly felt a little offended. He had barely even done anything!
Before Xiao Yi could figure it out, Mo Xiao Li came trotting over with the rest of the squealing cubs trailing right behind him.
Seeing Xiao Yi staring blankly at the doorway, Mo Xiao Li burst into a fit of laughter. He reached out and swatted the back of Xiao Yi’s furry head.
"Hey! Greet your uncle first!" Mo Xiao Li giggled.
Xiao Yi blinked, completely stunned. Greet his uncle? He had already hugged Xiao Li just a second ago!
Mo Xiao Li laughed even harder at his nephew’s confused face. He pointed a finger straight down at the tiny orange fox cub and announced proudly, "Not me! He is your uncle!"
Xiao Yi froze.
Uncle?!
Xiao Yi looked down at the tiny orange fox, who was so small he could barely stand steady on his four little paws, and then looked back up at Mo Xiao Li.
Was his young uncle out of his mind? How could this tiny, droopy-eyed orange bean be his uncle?! Someone please explain what was happening!
Before Xiao Yi could recover from the absolute shock, the sound of rushed footsteps echoed from the main hall.
Wang Mulan walked out, and the moment her eyes landed on the massive bundle of fur and tails piled up at her front door, she gasped in pure joy.
"You’re all back!" Wang Mulan cried out, her eyes shining as she immediately dropped to her knees and gathered all the cubs into a massive, warm bear hug.
"My precious little grandcubs!"
Right behind her, Su Mingxuan hurried out when he heard the noisy commotion, his face lighting up as soon as he saw all his grandsons and granddaughters back home.
However, as Su Mingxuan stepped forward to greet them, the tiny orange fox cub suddenly let out a small, anxious squeak.
It scrambled forward on its tiny legs and wrapped its little paws around Su Mingxuan’s ankle with all its might, burying its tiny face into his legs.
Su Mingxuan stopped in his tracks and looked down fondly at the clinging fox cub.
He gently patted its head and chuckled softly, "What happened, little one? Are you scared? Don’t worry, these are all your big sister’s cubs!"
