Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off Chapter 804: The Little Mermaid Who Just Wanted to Be Loved
Previously on Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off...
Far, far away from the Heavenly God Estate, in an entirely different part of the Upper Domain, lay a realm where very few outsiders ever dared to set foot.
This place was known as the Abyssal Deep.
Everywhere one looked, there was endless, crystal-clear water sparkling like dark gems under the faint sunlight.
Floating in the middle of these vast waters were massive land-planes where beautiful beastmen and their females resided in shimmering stone palaces.
Inside one of the grand, damp halls of the palace, a tall man named Cang Ling stood with a cold, terrifying expression.
THUD!
Without a shred of gentleness, Cang Ling threw the small mermaid cub into the arms of another man standing near the stone pillar.
"You can’t even take care of one single cub!" Cang Ling reprimanded harshly, his voice echoing violently through the high hall.
"How are you supposed to take responsibility for deep?! Do you have any idea how far this little brat ran away today?!"
Standing beside Cang Ling was a female named Liang Rou. Her expression was utterly lifeless, her dull eyes staring into space as if she possessed zero attachment to the living world around her.
The small cub trembling in the second man’s arms was none other than little Yuze, the tiny mermaid cub who had secretly swum into the Heavenly God Estate’s pond.
The man holding Yuze stiffened as he listened to Cang Ling’s harsh words. Slowly, Cang Hai’s eyes turned pitch-black and beastly as he looked down at the shivering cub in his arms.
"R-Revered Uncle..." little Yuze squeaked out, his small tail trembling violently. "Big Brother, I don’t..."
"Shut your mouth!"
Before Yuze could even finish his sentence, Cang Hai’s right hand, which had long, razor-sharp claws extending from his fingertips, clamped down hard around the small mermaid cub’s fragile neck!
GASP!
Cang Hai lifted the cub straight off the ground by his throat, his dark eyes flashing with an enraged, vicious snarl. "You really just can’t help but cause trouble for me, can you?!"
Yuze thrashed his small blue tail helplessly in the air, his tiny hands desperately clawing at Cang Hai’s iron grip as he gasped for oxygen.
"What will it take for you to stay put in this palace?!" Cang Hai sneered, his clawed fingers tightening just enough to inflict sharp pain. "It’s not like we’re mistreating you here!"
Hearing those shameless words, tears of pure agony pooled in little Yuze’s big, tearful eyes.
He desperately wanted to scream out! He wanted to cry out that yes, they were mistreating him!
They were so horribly cruel compared to the gentle parents of the little white snake, Yue Yue!
When Yuze had been hiding near the garden of the Heavenly God Estate, he had secretly watched how Su Qinglan and her beast husbands treated their children.
Their fathers held them with infinite care, wiped their faces, fed them sweet cakes, and protected them from the slightest chill.
Yuze had thought that all parents in the world were as cold, ruthless, and terrifying as the adults in the Abyssal Deep.
But seeing Yue Yue’s family had completely shattered his understanding of the world. Why couldn’t he have parents like that?
If my biological father were still alive... Yuze thought, his heart breaking into pieces as tears spilt down his cheeks, would I still be beaten every single day and left with no food to eat?
Every day in this palace was a living nightmare. He was cursed, beaten, starved, and forced to listen to endless cold lectures.
Yet Yuze knew he wasn’t even the unluckiest one.
Even among the other cubs in the Abyssal Deep whose biological fathers and mothers were still alive and well, their situations were no better than his!
The adults of the Deep Clan treated their offspring like useless burdens. Was it truly their own fault for being born into the Deep Clan?
Yes... it must be.
Yue Yue was a cold-blooded snake beastman, yet she was loved so deeply by her mother and all her fathers. But here in the Deep Clan, love simply didn’t exist.
Suddenly, Yuze’s blurry gaze landed on the quiet female, Liang Rou, who was standing right behind Cang Ling.
He recognised her.
Was she not also a snake female beastman? Yet she seemed to be living quite comfortably in the palace without ever being beaten or starved.
Is it because she’s a female? Yuze wondered innocently, his small mind struggling to comprehend.
Little Yue Yue is also a female snake, so she must be cherished for that too... But wait, even Yue Yue’s older brothers were loved just as much by their parents...
Yuze shook his tiny head in complete despair. He really didn’t know what grave sin he had committed in his past life to deserve such miserable treatment.
"Useless trash!"
With a cold, disgusted snort, Cang Hai raised his arm and callously threw the small mermaid cub right out the grand palace window!
SPLASH—!
Yuze’s small body plummeted through the air and crashed heavily into the outer pool just outside the palace walls...a dark, turbulent body of water that connected directly to the vast, open sea.
Pain flared through Yuze’s bruised body as the icy water swallowed him. Once again, he was left entirely on his own to fend for himself.
He was so small. How was a little cub like him supposed to hunt for food in these dangerous, deep waters?!
The wild aquatic beasts and predatory fish roaming this deep sea were far more vicious than the gentle fish in the Heavenly God Estate’s pond.
The beasts here wouldn’t hesitate to tear a defenceless cub like him into bloody shreds!
Yuze shuddered, terror gripping his little heart as he imagined being swallowed alive by a sea monster.
No... I can’t give up! The cub cried silently in his heart, his tiny jaw tightening with desperate resolve.
If I don’t fight to survive, I will really die out here... And I... I want to live so I can meet little Yue Yue again!
Flapping his small, injured blue tail against the dark waves, little Yuze let out a piteous, aggrieved whimper before diving deep into the depths of the sea, vanishing into the cold water.
