Elder Cang discovered an astonishing number of cubs with rare and powerful bloodlines in his orchard, including twin tiger cubs, snow wolf girls, a lion cub, a nine-tailed fox, and two snake cubs. He was overwhelmed by their sheer number and the implied parentage, especially when one of the snake cubs revealed that Lord Xuan Long was his father. Xuan Long then appeared and headed directly for the grand hall where An Mo and the future mistress were, signaling an impending disaster.

Elder Cang’s heart was hammering against his ribs like a panicked drum.

He looked at the grand hall doors, then back at the innocent, peach-covered faces of the eight little cubs surrounding him.

Elder Cang definitely did not want to witness that bloody scene himself. But more importantly, he absolutely refused to let these soft, precious little cubs be traumatized by watching their fathers tear the palace apart!

Instantly, the old man put on the warmest, most gentle, grandfatherly smile he could muster. He bent down, clapping his hands together softly to get the attention of the whole furry crew.

"My dear little masters!" Elder Cang coaxed in a sweet, singsong voice, his eyes twinkling.

"Look at this golden peach! Do you know that in my back garden, there are trees filled with even bigger, sweeter, and juicier fruits than this? There are golden berries, sweet honey melons, and crystal plums! Do you all want to come with Grandpa to eat as much as you want?"

The moment the word "fruits" echoed through the hallway, all sixteen little ears stood straight up in unison!

"Sweet melons?!" the lion cub gasped, his tail wagging violently.

"I want golden berries!" Ciao Ciao, the fox cub, yipped excitedly, his nine fluffy tails fanning out like a soft wall.

"Me too! Me too!" the wolf twin girls squeaked, bouncing up and down on their tiny paws.

Even Xiao Yi and Xiao Er, the tiger twins, looked at each other with wide, sparkling eyes, completely seduced by the promise of an unlimited fruit buffet.

Elder Cang let out a massive sigh of relief in his heart.

Without wasting a single millisecond, he quickly gathered all cubs around him like a mother hen collecting her chicks.

He carefully picked up little white snake Yue Yue, ushered the eager cubs away from the grand hall, and led the entire loud, chaotic train straight down the opposite corridor toward the safety of the back garden.

As for what was about to happen behind those closed hall doors between Lord Xuan Long and his Young Master...

Elder Cang could not care less! It was completely outside his pay grade, and it was certainly not his place to intervene in the terrifying battles of ancient beast lords.

Behind them, a low growl began to vibrate through the heavy marble walls, followed immediately by the loud screech of his young master.

But Elder Cang merely smiled, whistled a joyful tune, and picked a big, sweet melon for his new favorite little masters!

Elder Cang’s private back garden was a hidden paradise. Trees heavy with fruits bowed under their own weight, filling the air with a heavenly, mouth-watering aroma.

By the time Elder Cang led the cubs to the grassy lawn beneath the melon trees, the little ones went completely wild!

They sampled every single type of fruit in sight...munching on sweet golden berries, biting into juicy crystal plums, and licking up sugary melon juice.

After half an hour of nonstop feasting, all cubs were stuffed completely to the brim. They lay sprawled on the soft grass like a collection of furry, round balls.

Their already chubby cheeks looked even rounder and squishier, puffing out like little dumplings as they let out tiny, contented burps.

Elder Cang stood over them, his heart melting into a puddle of pure warmth. He couldn’t remember the last time his quiet life had felt this joyful.

Seeing that their furry faces, paws, and scales were completely covered in sticky fruit juice, Elder Cang immediately signaled his little servants. "Quick! Bring warm water and soft clothes!"

With the utmost gentle, grandfatherly care, Elder Cang began wiping down each little master one by one. He wiped the sticky tiger paws of Xiao Yi and Xiao Er, cleaned the juicy fox tails of Ciao Ciao, patted the lion cub’s sticky chin, and brushed the snow-white fur of the wolf twins.

Finally, he reached the very last cub... the tiny white snake, Yue Yue, who was resting on a soft pillow.

Just as Elder Cang reached out his warm cloth to gently wipe her delicate head...

HISSS!

The tiny white snake suddenly reared up, flicking her pink tongue and hissing softly at his hand!

Before Elder Cang could pull back in surprise, Xiao San quickly stepped in. He lightly tapped his little sister’s tail, chiding her in a stern, big-brother voice. "Yue Yue! Don’t be rude to Grandpa Cang! He’s helping us clean up!"

Little Yue Yue merely pouted her tiny snake jaw at him, completely ignoring her brother’s scolding.

She turned her head away with a proud huff and went right back to lazily chewing on a small piece of fruit like a pampered little worm, utterly unbothered.

Xiao San let out a helpless, mature sigh. He turned toward Elder Cang, offering the old man a sweet, apologetic smile.

"I’m so sorry, Grandpa Cang. My little sister is extremely territorial. She doesn’t like anyone touching her except family."

Elder Cang’s eyes twinkled with deep affection as he nodded warmly. "No need to apologize, little master! It’s completely natural."

Xiao San then pulled his reluctant little sister onto his own lap. He took the warm cloth from Elder Cang’s hands and gently, painstakingly wiped down her tiny scales himself.

Watching the chubby snake cub take such loving care of his sister, Elder Cang felt his old heart swell even more. What a sweet, caring big brother!

Once all cubs were sparkling clean and smelling like fresh blossoms, Elder Cang clapped his hands together. "Alright, my precious little masters! Let us head back inside the main manor to check on your mother."

Just as Elder Cang turned to lead the parade of fat-bellied cubs down the garden path, the heavy sound of synchronized footsteps echoed down the grand corridor.

Elder Cang froze, his brow furrowing in confusion. Standing at the entrance of the courtyard were four completely unfamiliar men!

He had served in this divine palace for hundreds of years and knew every face in the realm, yet he had never seen these four before.

There was a fierce, commanding man with sharp features; a calm, steady warrior with a powerful aura; a wildly handsome man with a playful, dangerous smirk; and a refined, graceful gentleman.

Naturally, Elder Cang had no idea that these four were Shi Feng, Han Jue, Rong Ye, and Hu Yan, who had just stepped through the spatial portal into the Upper Domain!

Before Elder Cang could raise his hand to question the strangers, the silent garden suddenly erupted into chaos!
