Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off Chapter 740: Elder Cang’s Heart Couldn’t Take It
Previously on Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off...
Elder Cang sat cross-legged on the cold marble floor, sweating profusely as he lined up six energetic little cubs right in front of him.
He counted them one by one, his old eyes blinking in utter amazement: the two tiger cubs, Xiao Yi and Xiao Er, the twin snow wolf baby girls, the fiery little lion cub, and the clever nine-tailed fox cub, Ciao Ciao.
When he learned from their innocent babbling that all six of these distinct, highly talented cubs were actually biological brothers and sisters and all around the exact same age... Elder Cang nearly fainted on the spot!
"Goodness gracious!" the old man gasped in his heart, clutching his chest.
"Which incredible female in the world could have possibly given birth to so many different, magnificent cubs in such a short period of time?! She is truly remarkable! This... this completely challenges the legendary fertility of the Beast Queen herself!"
Before his poor old heart could even settle from the shock, two long, sleek shapes suddenly slithered out from the dark shadow behind a massive porcelain vase!
Elder Cang’s eyes widened to the size of teacups.
One was a powerful, dark emerald snake, glinting with noble scales, and right beside it was a tiny, snow-white snake, delicate as carved jade!
Elder Cang’s jaw dropped so far it nearly unhinged. "I-Is that not the supreme bloodline cub of the Teng Clan?!" he screamed internally, staring at the emerald snake.
"And that tiny white one... is that not the sacred bloodline cub of the Moon Spirit Serpent Clan?!"
Before he could process how two ancient, top-tier noble bloodlines were hanging out together, the emerald snake flickered with a soft light and instantly transformed into a chubby, handsome human boy!
It was Xiao San!
The generous little lion cub immediately trotted over, holding two massive, juicy golden peaches in his mouth. He plopped them right into Xiao San’s lap with a proud thump!
"Here, Big Brother!" the lion cub chirped happily, licking his nose. "These two are for you and your little sister!"
"Thanks, little brother," Xiao San said in his mature little voice. He picked up the tiny white snake, Yue Yue, and cradled her gently against his chest like a priceless treasure.
Truth be told, Xiao San and his little sister were not happy at all right now!
When that terrible spatial portal had tumbled everyone into the Upper Domain, Xiao San and tiny Yue Yue, being the smallest and lightest of the group, had been flung far, far away into the deep gardens.
Xiao San had spent twenty terrifying minutes frantically searching through the giant bushes just to find his baby sister first! Only after securing her had he finally reunited with the rest of the chaotic pack.
So as Xiao San sat on the floor, peeling a bit of the golden peach to feed his sister while taking a bigger bite himself, he carried a very grumpy, solemn expression on his chubby face.
Meanwhile, poor Elder Cang felt as though the entire sky had collapsed straight onto his head!
He clutched his white beard with both shaking hands, staring at the circle of royal, terrifying, and wildly varied cubs sitting casually around him, happily munching on his divine peaches.
Can someone please... please explain the universe to him right now?!
He had lived for thousands of years, yet he felt he had become far too old to comprehend reality!
Where on earth did this army of miraculous, legendary cubs come from?!
And how had they so effortlessly, ruthlessly hijacked his entire orchard of divine peaches and his fragile old heart in less than five minutes?!
Elder Cang sat on the cold floor, blinking his old eyes as he carefully counted the little bundles again.
Now, with the two small snakes joining the group, there were a total of eight cubs!
He looked at the chubby little snake cub holding the white snake, completely bewildered. He turned to the eldest tiger cub, Xiao Yi, who was still happily munching on his giant golden peach.
"Little master," Elder Cang asked carefully, pointing a trembling finger at Xiao San. "Is he... is he also your brother?"
Xiao Yi puffed out his tiny striped chest proudly and nodded without a single second of hesitation. "Of course! They are my brother and sister! He is Third Brother, and she is our youngest sister!"
Elder Cang’s jaw nearly hit the floor again. "Good heavens!" he muttered to himself in utter shock. "What kind of miraculous little family is this?!"
He looked closely at the little snake cub.
Elder Cang knew very well that the noble Teng Clan in the Upper Domain was famous for having almost no children. It was extremely rare for an egg to be born!
So how on earth did a real Teng Clan cub suddenly appear out of nowhere right in his backyard?
Suddenly, a bright lightbulb lit up inside Elder Cang’s mind.
He remembered the recent, wild rumors floating around the Upper Domain! People said that the Lord Xuan Long had actually found a sweet mate for himself in the lower realms and even had children!
Elder Cang’s eyes widened to the size of saucers. He looked straight at Xiao San and asked excitedly, "Good cub...tell this grandpa what is your father’s name!?"
Xiao San, who was currently busy taking another big, happy bite of the golden peach, paused. His bad mood had completely vanished.
This peach was amazingly sweet and juicy! He had never tasted anything like this in the Beast World.
Hearing the old man’s question, Xiao San remembered what his mother and father always taught him: Always respect your elders, especially old grandpas!
Looking at Elder Cang’s deeply wrinkled face and long white beard, Xiao San thought this old man looked even older than his own grandfather. He swallowed his mouthful of peach politely, prepared to answer.
Before he could speak, Xiao San’s little ears twitched. He looked past Elder Cang’s shoulder and pointed a sticky, peach-covered finger toward the end of the hallway.
"There," Xiao San said in his cute, chubby voice. "My father is right there."
Elder Cang immediately turned his head to look.
Sure enough, walking down the long marble corridor with steady, imposing strides was none other than Lord Xuan Long himself! His dark robes floated gracefully, and his deep emerald eyes were fixed straight ahead.
"Yes..." Elder Cang muttered under his breath, his heart skipping a beat. "It really is Lord Xuan Long..."
However, Xuan Long didn’t even glance at the old elder sitting on the floor surrounded by half-eaten peaches and messy cubs. He completely ignored Elder Cang, walking straight past them toward the heavy doors of the grand hall!
Elder Cang’s left eye twitched violently.
He knew exactly what was happening inside that grand hall right now. An Mo and his future mistress were still in there! And now, the notoriously difficult lord was marching directly inside!
Elder Cang broke into a cold sweat. He had been brave enough to stop a group of tiny, soft cubs from entering, but stop Lord Xuan Long?! He didn’t have ten lives to spare!
A disaster...a huge, violent, chaotic disaster was definitely about to erupt in the grand hall!
