As the night grew late, the lively festival slowly came to an end. Her mother, father, and all the rest of the extended family gathered their coats and happily said their goodbyes, leaving the house peaceful once more.

With the guests gone, the house felt completely empty and quiet again.

The little cubs were absolutely exhausted from eating so much food and playing all evening. They had fallen asleep in completely random, funny positions all over the living room rug.

Hu Yan and Han Jue smiled softly, walking around to pick up the fluffy little cubs and the small sleeping snake one by one, gently carrying them into their warm beds.

Su Qinglan sat on the edge of the wooden bench, feeling completely drained. She was so incredibly tired that she didn’t even want to move a single muscle to take a bath.

But as she sniffed her own sleeve, she realized the thick smell of roasted meat, fish, and charcoal paste felt like it was literally carved into her bones. She couldn’t possibly sleep like this.

Just as she was dragging her feet toward the washroom, Rong Ye stepped in front of her. Without a word, he easily scooped her up into his powerful arms, lifting her off the ground.

"If you are too tired to move, don’t force yourself," Rong Ye whispered, his voice low and incredibly gentle as he looked down at her sleepy face.

"I can just wipe your body down with a warm cloth right here."

Su Qinglan’s face flushed slightly, and she shook her head, leaning against his chest. "No need... I’ll just take a quick, warm bath myself before falling asleep."

Rong Ye smiled dotingly and set her down safely.

After a quick, relaxing wash, Su Qinglan finally crawled into the large, comfortable bed, staring up at the dark wooden ceiling as the fatigue washed over her.

As she lay there, her mind suddenly drifted to An Mo. He had left for the Upper Domain to settle some matters, and it had already been two full weeks since his departure.

Even Xuan Long had made it back safely from his journey, yet An Mo was still nowhere to be seen.

She let out a quiet sigh, knowing there was nothing she could do but wait.

Xuan Long had explained it to her before...Time moved very differently up there.

One single day in the Upper Domain was equal to a whole week in their Beast World. When Xuan Long had gone, it felt like only a matter of days to him, but by the time he returned to her side, more than two months had already passed here.

’For An Mo, it has probably only been two days since he left,’ she thought to herself, a bit lonely.

’But for me, it has been two long weeks.’ Before leaving, he hadn’t even explained exactly what he was going to do. He had only strictly promised that he would return quickly and prepare a wonderful surprise for her.

As she brooded over the thought, the mattress shifted slightly.

A pair of strong, muscular arms reached out from behind, and Rong Ye smoothly snuggled up against her back, pulling her petite frame tightly into his embrace.

Su Qinglan immediately smiled and snuggled backward into his comforting warmth.

Rong Ye possessed a powerful fire-type core, making his body temperature inherently higher than anyone else’s in the entire house.

To her, he was exactly like a walking, breathing winter furnace. He could expertly control his body heat, keeping it at the perfect, cozy temperature just for her.

"Don’t worry so much," Rong Ye murmured softly against her hair, as if reading her mind. "He will be back soon. Go to sleep, Lanlan."

Feeling the steady, rhythmic beat of his heart and wrapped in his perfect warmth, all of Su Qinglan’s worries slowly melted away. Sleeping right beside him felt incredibly safe and good.

Within minutes, her eyes fluttered closed, her breathing became deep and even, and she fell into a deep, peaceful sleep as the quiet winter night settled over the house.

In the middle of the night, when it was almost morning, the winter sun was still far from rising. The sky outside was pitch black and the air was freezing cold.

Rong Ye was sleeping soundly, but suddenly, his sharp ears twitched.

He heard a strange movement outside, followed by the undeniable pressure of unfamiliar presences surrounding their house. His eyes snapped open instantly in the dark.

At the exact same moment, on the other side of the bed, Xuan Long and Han Jue also woke up. Sensing the disturbance, they silently looked at him.

Rong Ye sat up quietly, being extremely careful not to wake Su Qinglan. Feeling the sudden loss of heat, Su Qinglan only turned herself over in the blankets, snuggling deeper into the leftover warmth.

Rong Ye looked up and saw Xuan Long and Han Jue watching him from the other side. "Did you hear that?" Han Jue whispered.

Rong Ye nodded, his expression dark. He gestured for them to stay inside the room.

"You two stay here and guard Lanlan. I will go check it out. It seems they came here looking for me."

Hearing that it was just Rong Ye’s people, Xuan Long didn’t waste a single second. He immediately stepped forward and took the warm position on the bed that had just been vacated by Rong Ye.

He smoothly pulled Lanlan into his strong arms, holding her snugly. Han Jue also relaxed, and the two of them peacefully closed their eyes to fall asleep once again, not caring at all about who had arrived outside as long as their female was safe.

Rong Ye walked out of the house and stepped into the deep snow.

The biting winter wind was almost painful against his skin. He stood in the courtyard with furrowed brows and a very, very annoyed expression.

He was incredibly irritated that these people had dared to disturb his peaceful sleep with his female.

As he looked up at the figures silently surrounding the courtyard walls, his expression became even worse.
