Xuan Long and Su Qinglan finally reunite, sharing an intense and passionate night together. Their reunion culminates in a powerful mating ritual that draws the unwanted attention of the beastmen gathered outside their room, whose sensitive hearing forces them to flee the agonizing sounds.

Since they knew they weren’t strong enough to take on a rabid, possessive Xuan Long right now, the only logical choice left to preserve their dignity and their bones...was to flee the house entirely.

While the fox and the lion practically sprinted for the exit, only Hu Yan and Han Jue remained seated at the table.

On the surface, the two of them looked remarkably calm.

There wasn’t much of an expression on their stoic faces as they neatly rearranged the utensils.

However, the furious, burning crimson stain covering their ears and running all the way down their thick necks was a loud testimony to the truth...

Their self-control was definitely better than Rong Ye’s and Shi Feng’s, but they were hanging on by a very thin thread.

"The winter air outside is quite refreshing today," Hu Yan remarked, his voice a full octave lower than usual as he stared blankly at the wall.

Han Jue cleared his throat, his fingers slightly trembling as he adjusted his robes. "Yes. Very refreshing. They should take their time."

Outside, the heavy front door slammed shut as Rong Ye and Shi Feng plunged their faces directly into the freezing snowdrifts to cool down their boiling blood, cursing the slippery snake with every breath they had left.

To be absolutely fair, Rong Ye and Shi Feng weren’t actually angry that Xuan Long was mating with Su Qinglan.

After all, they had all chosen to become a family together long ago, accepting the shared bond.

It had become an inevitable, sacred rule among them that they wouldn’t fight or hoard her attention selfishly. They all loved her, and they all shared the duty of protecting her.

No, what made their blood boil was the fact that that arrogant, slippery noodle completely refused to allow them to join!

"That narrow-minded, shameless snake always finds a way to get right on my nerves," Rong Ye hissed, aggressively kicking a pile of snow and watching it explode into the air.

His fox tail was puffed up to twice its normal size from sheer irritation.

"He literally gave us that cold, warning glare before slamming the door, telling us to stay away! And then he goes and mates with her right in front of our faces...well, right through the wall! What does he think we are? Celibate beast servants?!"

Shi Feng stood beside him, his massive, powerful lion build towering over the fox. His thick, golden mane-like hair caught the falling flakes of snow, and his jaw was clenched tightly.

Hearing Rong Ye’s furious rant, the great lion beastman merely let out a low, deep hmph from his chest... neither agreeing with the fox’s dramatic outburst nor denying it.

The more Rong Ye thought about it, the more he completely ruled out the possibility that Xuan Long was just being thoughtless.

No, that calculative, arrogant snake was absolutely doing this entirely on purpose just to drive them crazy!

"He’s a show-off!" Rong Ye snapped, pacing back and forth in the snow like a caged animal, his cheeks still flushed a dark crimson from the echoes of Su Qinglan’s high-pitched moans.

"A petty, possessive, overbearing show-off! When it’s my turn next time, I’m going to lock the front door and throw away the key. Let’s see how that slippery noodle likes standing out here freezing his scales off!"

Shi Feng adjusted his heavy fur cloak over his broad shoulders. He glanced back toward the shaking window of the bedroom, his tail flicking behind him in the snow.

He gave another deep, grunting hum, refusing to get as worked up as the frantic fox but secretly making a mental note to remember this showoff.

Meanwhile, back inside the main hall...

The sounds coming from the master bedroom were still showing absolutely no signs of stopping.

Hu Yan and Han Jue looked at each other across the table.

The deep crimson blush on their ears hadn’t faded one bit. Knowing that their self-control was rapidly reaching its absolute limit, the two of them came to a silent, mutual agreement.

It was time to leave.

"Let’s take the cubs out for a walk," Hu Yan suggested, his voice tight as he stood up.

"The winter air will do everyone some good."

Han Jue nodded quickly, relieved by the idea. "I’ll fetch the large woven carrying baskets."

The two fathers immediately went to gather the children. They lined up the massive, sturdy baskets lined with thick, warm furs, ready to pack the younger cubs inside for a stroll through the snowy city.

Xiao San, who had been staying perfectly well-behaved in the corner, was entirely ready and waiting by the door.

However, as Hu Yan began counting heads, his golden eyes furrowed.

He counted once. He counted twice.

Something was very wrong.

"Where are the others?" Hu Yan muttered, his voice dropping into a dangerously low register.

They checked the main hall. They checked the corners. Han Jue quickly strode into the back rooms and even checked the kitchen, but there was no sign of them.

Xiao Yi, Xiao Er, and the little uncle, Mo Xiaoli, had completely vanished. They weren’t even playing in the backyard.

A heavy, dark expression instantly washed over Hu Yan’s face. His large frame seemed to radiate an intimidating pressure as he growled under his breath, "Those brats... always creating trouble the moment our backs are turned."

Standing right next to him, little Xiao San almost trembled under his big father’s terrifying, dark gaze.

The poor cub instantly shrunk his neck, silently lighting symbolic funeral candles in his mind for his two elder twin brothers.

’Big brother Xiao Yi, second brother Xiao Er... you are on your own this time,’ he thought fearfully.

Seeking safety, Xiao San scrambled into the large carrying basket as fast as his little snake body could carry him, burying himself deep beneath the heavy furs.

Right next to him in the basket was his tiny newborn sister, Yue Yue, who was safely swaddled up.

The little white snake gave her chubby brother a look and deliberately slithered a good distance away from him in the fur, as if saying, ’Don’t sit near me; I don’t want Father’s anger to hit me too.’

The other, even younger cubs peeked out curiously from the edges of the baskets, their round eyes blinking with immense excitement.

After all, it wasn’t every day they were allowed to go outside for a stroll like this! Usually, only their three adventurous elder brothers got to roam around.

With a heavy, unified sigh, Hu Yan and Han Jue lifted the large baskets onto their strong backs.

Carrying the bundle of well-behaved cubs, the two powerful fathers stepped out of the house and into the crisp snow, their sharp senses locking onto the faint scent of stinky tiger cubs leading straight into the forest.

It was time to hunt down three very naughty little tigers.
