The brothers-in-law, Xuan Long, Hu Yan, Han Jue, Rong Ye, and Shi Feng, shower Su Qinglan's brothers with lavish gifts. Xuan Long gives them bags of purple-grade crystal cores, while the others follow suit with valuable hides, herbs, and weapons. Lan Yue playfully complains about not receiving such generosity, but Su Qinglan reassures her of her love. Meanwhile, the children Mo Xiao Li, Xiao Er, and Xiao Yi sneak off to the kitchen to salvage leftover food.

Lan Yue was still hugging Su Qinglan’s arm when Su Qinglan suddenly smiled, a thoroughly mischievous look appearing in her eyes.

She leaned closer and whispered directly into Lan Yue’s ear, "So... you’ve grown up now. Maybe it’s time for your eldest sister to find you another beast husband."

Lan Yue blinked, stunned, before her face slowly turned a bright, burning red.

"S-Sister..."

Su Qinglan pretended to think very seriously, tapping her chin. "Hmm... What kind of beastman should I find for you? A tiger? A wolf? Or maybe a bird?"

The more she spoke, the redder Lan Yue’s face became, her ears practically smoking. "Sister!"

Su Qinglan completely refused to stop, thoroughly enjoying herself.

"It has to be someone exceptionally handsome, strong, and someone who will absolutely spoil you every single day. Oh! Maybe I should ask your brothers-in-law to help look for one."

Lan Yue’s ears turned completely crimson. Panic setting in, she quickly reached up and clamped her hand right over Su Qinglan’s mouth.

"Sister! Stop talking!"

Su Qinglan laughed heartily behind her hand, gently pulling Lan Yue’s fingers away from her lips.

"Why? Didn’t you just ask me to help you find a good husband? I think we should start looking this very day."

Lan Yue stomp her foot on the ground in pure frustration. "You... you... you are so bad!"

Everyone around them in the main hall instantly burst into loud laughter. Even the three triplet brothers couldn’t stop laughing at their second sister’s deeply embarrassed face.

Lan Yue was so mortified that she wished she could dig a hole right through the floor and hide inside it forever.

"I don’t want any more beast husbands!" she hurriedly denied, her voice cracking as she waved her hands wildly. "I don’t want them!"

Su Qinglan deliberately nodded with an innocent expression. "Oh? So if a handsome, powerful beastman comes to ask for your hand, I should just send him away?"

Lan Yue’s face became even redder, reaching a whole new level of panic. "Sister!"

She couldn’t stay in this room for another single second. She immediately turned around on her heel and ran toward the front door as fast as her legs could carry her. "I-I’m going home!"

Then, she hurriedly shouted back over her shoulder without looking, "Sister! I’ll come back tomorrow! You stay here and chat with Brother-in-law!"

The moment her words fell, she had already vanished straight out of the house. Only a small cloud of dust remained behind at the open doorway.

The three triplet brothers stared blankly at the empty entrance, their arms still full of high-grade treasures.

"..."

Then they suddenly came back to their senses with a violent jolt.

"Second Sister! Wait for us!"

The three of them hurriedly scrambled to their feet, clutching their mountains of gifts, and chased after her into the cold morning air.

Unfortunately, Lan Yue had already run so incredibly fast and far away out of sheer embarrassment that they couldn’t even see her shadow on the path anymore.

Inside the house, the main room immediately filled with roaring laughter once again.

Su Qinglan laughed until tears almost came to her eyes, leaning against Xuan Long’s sturdy shoulder for support.

She never expected that teasing her younger sister just a little bit would scare her into running away so quickly!

Lan Yue ran as fast as her legs could carry her, the biting winter wind doing absolutely nothing to cool down her burning red face.

"Sister is so bad..." she muttered, covering her hot cheeks with both hands to hide her embarrassment from the passing wind.

"Why does she always have to tease me like that?"

The more she remembered Su Qinglan’s playful words about finding her another beast husband, the redder her face became.

"I don’t want another beast husband..." She mumbled to herself, her heart fluttering. At least... not right now.

She was so utterly distracted by her racing thoughts that she didn’t even bother to look at the path ahead.

Suddenly...

Bang!

She bumped straight into a solid wall of muscle.

"Ah!" Lan Yue gasped as she instantly lost her balance. The thick snow beneath her feet gave way, and she tumbled backward, landing with a soft poof right into a massive drift.

Half of her body sank into the fluffy white snow, and a cold flurry splashed all over her face and hair.

"Ouch..." she groaned, rubbing her forehead with watery eyes, thoroughly dazed.

The tall beastman she had collided with was equally stunned. He had just returned from a hunt, his broad shoulders slightly tense from the journey.

He never expected a tiny figure to suddenly crash headfirst into him out of nowhere. But the moment his gaze dropped to the person sitting in the snow, his eyes widened significantly.

"A... female?"

His usually stoic, calm expression instantly changed.

A trace of genuine panic flashed across his handsome features. Without another thought, he immediately stepped forward into the deep drift.

"I’m sorry. I didn’t see you coming," his deep voice rumbled, carrying an obvious, heavy wave of concern.

He bent down, extending a large, calloused hand toward her.

Before Lan Yue could even react, he gently wrapped his fingers around her wrist and lifted her entirely out of the deep snow as if she weighed absolutely nothing at all.

Lan Yue blinked blankly, trying to shake the snow from her vision.

The man standing before her was incredibly tall...even taller than most beastmen she had encountered. His lean, powerful body was wrapped in a heavy, dark fur cloak that smelled of the crisp forest.

A pair of sharp, hawk-like eyes looked down at her with intense worry. His long, pitch-black hair was tied neatly behind his back, making his handsome, chiseled face appear even colder.

Yet, despite his intimidating stature, his actions were surprisingly gentle.

"There is snow on your face," he murmured softly.

Raising his hand, he used the edge of his sleeve to delicately brush away the snowflakes stuck to her hair and forehead. Then, he carefully dusted the stray powder off her sloped shoulders and sleeves.
