Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off Chapter 696: The Fluffy Tower of Cubs

Then, Han Jue walked out of the kitchen.
The triplets froze again, stunned for the umpteenth time. They had already thought the tiger brother-in-law was terrifyingly formidable, but now another one appeared...even more packed with lean, lethal muscles.
’An Arctic Wolf...’ Yin Chen swallowed hard, recognizing the rare aura.
’I’ve never even seen an Arctic Wolf in person before.’
’Our sister really gathered a pack of ultimate powerhouses,’ Yin Shen thought, his eyes darting between Hu Yan and Han Jue.
’Okay, on the bright side, she definitely doesn’t have to worry about stray, rogue beastmen attacking her,’ Yin Lie noted mentally. ’But... what if she gets bullied by these two giants at home?!’
The three brothers simultaneously looked down at their own lean, teenage muscles.
Then they looked at Hu Yan’s massive bicep, which was literally wider than their entire thighs. Then they looked at Han Jue’s sharp, dangerous eyes.
’Can we even beat them up if they make her cry?’ Yin Chen asked himself, sweat dripping down his neck.
’If we fight them right now, we will be turned into minced meat in three seconds,’ Yin Shen realized with absolute certainty.
’No! We cannot give up!’ Yin Lie huffed inside his own mind, narrowing his eyes determinedly.
Sitting on their chairs, the three triplets simultaneously let out a silent, synchronized huff of competitive spirit.
They made a solemn vow right then and there. The moment they got back home, they were going to train and practice very, very hard.
They would lift heavier rocks, hunt bigger prey, and grow as massive as possible... so these terrifying beastmen would never, ever dare to bully their precious elder sister!
Hu Yan and Han Jue soon walked into the kitchen, their massive frames easily filling the warm space.
"It was freezing outside this morning," Hu Yan noted, shaking the remaining frost from his shoulders. "They must be cold."
Han Jue smiled softly, already reaching for a heavy stone pot. "I’ll make a simple hot soup first. It will warm their bones before breakfast."
Hu Yan nodded in agreement. "Good. Let them warm themselves up first."
The two formidable beastmen quickly became busy, chopping ingredients and stoking the hearth with ease.
Meanwhile, back in the main hall...
Lan Yue sat closely beside her three younger brothers, trying her best to soothe their rigid postures.
"Don’t be so nervous, you three," she patiently explained, pouring them some warm water.
"My big sister is very easy to get along with, and my brothers-in-law are all incredibly kind."
Unfortunately, the three triplets weren’t listening to a single word she said.
Their eyes were far too busy wandering around the beautifully decorated house, completely captivated.
"So beautiful..." Yin Shen whispered, his jaw practically dropping.
Yin Lie nodded repeatedly, his eyes wide. "Our City Lord’s residence is also made of stone... but this place feels completely different. It’s so warm and cozy."
Yin Chen curiously scanned every corner. His eyes soon landed on a cluster of strange, beautifully woven bamboo items near the wall.
There were smooth bamboo shelves, neatly woven bamboo baskets, comfortable bamboo chairs, and even tiny, delicate decorations carved from the stalks.
"What are these?" Yin Chen murmured, his fingers twitching with intense curiosity. "They look so amazing."
He subconsciously reached a hand out. He really wanted to touch them. Just once. Only a little stroke!
But the very next second, a wave of panic hit him, and he violently pulled his hand back to his lap.
’No!’ his inner voice screamed.
’What if I accidentally break it? What if Elder Sister thinks I’m a naughty, destructive brat? What if Brother-in-law gets angry and throws me straight out into the snowstorm?!’
Yin Chen instantly straightened his spine and sat perfectly proper again.
Beside him, the other two brothers were having the exact same internal crisis.
They quietly folded their hands neatly on their laps, sweating under their collars as they pretended to be the most obedient, angelic teenagers in the entire beast city.
At that exact moment...
Four pairs of intensely curious eyes suddenly peeked out from the crack of the bedroom doorframe.
The three brothers blinked. Then, their eyes slowly grew bigger and bigger until they were the size of saucers.
The four little cubs were literally stacked on top of one another to peek outside!
At the very bottom was the sturdy little lion cub, standing firmly like a tiny mountain to support the weight.
On his furry back stood one little wolf cub. Balanced carefully on her back was another version that looks almost identical to her. And proudly topping the entire tower at the very peak was the tiny fox cub.
The four little heads poked out together, four pairs of round, innocent eyes staring curiously at the unfamiliar newcomers.
Yin Chen felt his breathing completely stop. ’So... so fluffy... I... I think I’m going to faint...’
Behind the door, the cubs were furiously whispering among themselves.
"They are strangers," the little lion cub muttered in his cub language. "Father said not to go near strangers when he’s busy."
"But..." The little fox peeked over at Xiao Yi and Xiao Er, who were happily playing with Lan Yue. "I also want to play... they look like fun."
The wolf twins nodded their heads in perfect sync. "Me too... me too..."
Only the brave little lion cub was trying his absolute best to hold the line and stay strong.
At that moment, Lan Yue finally noticed the trembling tower of fluff. Her eyes immediately lit up with pure joy.
"Babies! Come here!" she cheered happily, opening the large woven bag she had carried over.
"Your Auntie is here! Look, I brought sweet winter fruits for all of you!" She waved the bright fruits with a dazzling smile.
The tower of cubs instantly panicked and vanished behind the door. But the next second, the little lion cub could no longer resist the intoxicating, sweet scent of the fruits. He charged forward like a little cannonball!
Because he ran away so suddenly, the three little cubs stacked on top of him completely lost their footing.
Plop! Plop! Plop!
The two wolf girls and the fox cub rolled onto the floor like clumsy little cotton balls.
"Wuu..." They sat up, rubbing their face and looking at their elder brother with big, deeply wronged eyes.
The lion cub stopped in his tracks, scratching his furry head awkwardly. "...Sorry."
But as expected of resilient cubs, one second they looked incredibly wronged, and the next second they completely forgot about it.
All four happily scrambled to their feet and ran toward Lan Yue.
Well... almost all four.
The little fox walked much more slowly than his siblings. His tiny, pristine tail swayed gently as he took elegant, delicate little steps. Even as a baby, he looked incredibly graceful while walking.
The three triplets stared blankly, their souls practically leaving their bodies.
"So many fluffy balls..." Yin Shen muttered, his hands shaking with the urge to pet them.
"And... they’re all different species," Yin Lie added in absolute amazement.
"A lion, two wolves, and a little fox. They all carry incredibly powerful bloodlines."
The three brothers looked at one another, their respect for their mysterious elder sister skyrocketing. She was truly incredible!
