The group settles down for the night, exhausted from the day's events. The old grandfather plant, however, remains awake, pondering the implications of Su Qinglan's immense power. He contemplates whether to stay near Dragon Beast City for the sake of his clan's cultivation or to leave for safety, ultimately deciding to stay.

Meanwhile...

Inside the dimly lit cubs’ room...

Han Jue stood perfectly still at the doorway, a distinctly dark expression clouding his face. His sharp, predatory gaze slowly landed on An Mo, who was already lying back comfortably and settling into the large bed.

Han Jue’s mouth twitched with sheer annoyance. He simply couldn’t believe it.

Hu Yan had actually played such a blatant trick on him! If An Mo was already staying in here to guard the children, then why on earth had Hu Yan explicitly sent him here under the guise of "extra security"?

Wasn’t this deliberately making things difficult for him?

Han Jue snorted inwardly, his fists tightening slightly. He really, truly did not want to look at this man’s face right now.

At the exact same time... An Mo also looked over, his pupils catching the light from fire. The two men’s eyes met for only a single, frosty second.

Then, acting in perfect unison, both of them instantly looked away with expressions full of absolute disgust.

"..."

The atmosphere inside the room became incredibly awkward.

Han Jue glanced at the massive bed again, mapping out the territory. An Mo was selfishly occupying one entire side.

As for the remaining space... it had already been completely taken over by the sleeping cubs. Some were sleeping sideways, sprawled out like little stars. Some had aggressively kicked away their thick blankets. The little fox cub was even lying completely upside down, its fluffy tail draped over another cub’s head. The entire bed looked like a chaotic, post-playtime battlefield.

Han Jue frowned deeply. Where exactly was he supposed to sleep? More importantly... he absolutely, under any circumstances, did not want to sleep beside An Mo.

He was still angry. Very, very angry. This shameless man had deceived their sweet, innocent Lanlan. The more Han Jue thought about it, the angrier he became.

"Hmph."

Without saying a single word to his rival, Han Jue marched over to the corner of the room and picked up a thick hide. Throwing it down onto the floorboards, a sudden blinding flash of white light erupted from his form. His tall, muscular human figure instantly disappeared.

In its place appeared a magnificent, giant snow-white wolf.

The giant wolf quietly curled himself up on the thick hide beside the bed, tucked his nose beneath his massive, fluffy tail, and closed his eyes. He would rather sleep on the hard floor like a common guard dog than sleep anywhere near that deceptive man.

Seeing this dramatic display, An Mo slowly opened one eye from the pillows. The corner of his mouth twitched in utter disbelief.

"Can’t he just squeeze in?" An Mo muttered softly, his smooth voice barely a whisper. "It’s not like I’m trying to bully him."

Then, his gaze drifted toward the closed bedroom door, a sudden realization hitting him.

"If Lanlan walks in and sees this tomorrow morning... she’ll definitely think I’m the one bullying him." He narrowed his eyes at the massive heap of white fur on the floor.

"This wolf really has a stinky, stubborn personality. He’d rather suffer and sleep on the ground just to ruin my perfect image in front of our female."

After thinking it over for a calculating moment, An Mo secretly made up his mind. "Tomorrow morning... the absolute second before Lanlan wakes up... I’ll kick this dramatic wolf right out of the room."

Satisfied with his flawless plan, he nodded to himself.

Then, he reached down and pulled the sleeping little snake cubs closer into his chest.

Xiao San instinctively snuggled against his radiating body heat. Only then did An Mo close his eyes and finally fall asleep.

In the quiet depth of the middle of the night...

Two pairs of sleepy, glowing blue eyes slowly blinked open. The twin wolf cubs rubbed their tiny faces with their paws, looking around the dark room in a state of warm confusion.

"...Awooo?"

One little wolf sniffed the air, her tiny nose twitching. Very quickly, the two little cubs caught a deeply familiar, comforting scent. Their fluffy ears immediately perked up in unison.

Without making a single sound to disturb the others, they nimbly climbed off the high bed. Their tiny, soft paws padded silently across the floorboards.

Soon, following the scent, they found the giant snow wolf curled up tightly beside the bed.

The twins’ eyes instantly lit up in the dark.

"Awoo!" they squeaked happily, launching their tiny bodies forward and pouncing right onto Han Jue’s thick, plush fur.

One immediately buried her face into his thick neck fur, inhaling his scent. The other enthusiastically climbed up onto his massive back before curling herself into a tiny, fluffy ball between his shoulder blades.

The sudden, unexpected weight made Han Jue slowly open his ice-blue eyes.

When he lowered his massive head and saw his two precious daughters, the icy coldness in his gaze instantly melted away into nothingness. A deep, gentle warmth replaced it.

His daughters were truly the best. Unlike certain annoying, single-minded people in the room... his precious daughters would never leave their father to sleep alone on the floor.

The giant snow wolf lowered his snout and gently nuzzled his daughters, his rough tongue giving them a soft lick.

The two little wolf cubs giggled sleepily, burying themselves even deeper into his thick, winter coat. Han Jue carefully curled his large, protective body completely around them, shielding them from any stray drafts.

Before long, the father and his daughters were fast asleep together.

Not far away on the mattress... An Mo quietly opened one eye again. He stared at the three fluffy wolves huddled together into a single, cohesive unit on the floor.

"..."

After a long, brooding silence... he muttered quietly under his breath,

"Hmph. Showing off just because you have daughters."

Then, feeling a sudden surge of competitiveness, he hugged the little snake and lion cubs in his arms even tighter against his ribs. "I have cubs too."

The sleeping cubs had absolutely no idea what psychological warfare was happening over their heads. They simply rubbed their body against his chest comfortably, continuing their sweet, undisturbed dreams.
